When was Renfield confirmed, anyway? What was his role, if he doesn't have it now? I assume at this point Sabat is confirmed as Iago, but who was Igor?

It was during a the drank rant Nick did on the twitch he did making fun of geekdom getting punked by perfection. But i guess his role was a nothingburger.

Was the anime nick was trying to license is Interspecies?

So, this slipped under everyone's radar:
Scott Barretto is no longer the Head of Public Relations at Funimation:

It was probably a mistake not to sue that guy right at the outset.

Probably since he's talked about it and also said if he ever did get into anime licensing he would want it to be the most offensive, un-PC thing he could find.

I dunno, Nick saying "I'd like to license an anime" isn't that weird. I'm sure it's mostly just a pipedream of 'ah, that would be fun', but even if he wanted to hunker down and do one for real, licensing out just one anime localization is much cheaper than trying to be a studio or making one from scratch.

You should have been straightforward and to the point. Your decision, according you, was 100% to do with FSE, and that's all that should have been said. Bringing any excuse in related to Vic beyond that could only hurt him. That said...I have my doubts, frankly. It just doesn't make much sense to me. FSE was a vaporware scam that used Vic's name without his knowledge, while you were in ongoing negotiations with Vic and active development. No one would make that connection, and if somehow they did you could easily disprove it.

You're right I shouldve been more clear, but I disagree that no one would make that connection. I've had plenty of people react to my project with a "Is this a PA thing?"
Sure I could dispprove it, but it wasn't worth the hassle to be so closely connected.

In the end I guess that's just a difference in experience tho.

Hmmm... I can't imagine why he would have become distant or not recorded anything you sent him a year ago. I mean, it's not like he was in the middle of the fight of his life or anything. Oh, wait...

Sarcasm aside, please realize that even the quote above can be harmful to a professional actor. To someone unfamiliar with his situation, this makes him look irresponsible and lacking work ethic = do not hire. On the surface, it's a studio owner complaining about an actor. Nobody takes the time to dive deeper.

It sounds like you have learned a valuable lesson here that I hope serves you well in the future. Thinking before speaking is an art, and saying less is often more.
I'm going to respectfully disagree. I was sharing my experience, and even added " I got it though, he's a busy man with a lot going on."
I never said he wasn't fighting, that wasn't the point of my statement. It just feels like nitpicking now.

I doubt he'll ever see this or the tweets but I am truly sorry for my own ignorance. it sound like Vic was somehow a predator. I poorly phrased it, so I purged everything.
Don’t apologize. All you’ll get is orbiters of both sides yelling at you. Just expound on what you meant and move on.

Kind of a different tangent, but with the WuFlu RIPing funimation VA work many of them have taken to twitch thottery.

Chuck Huber, for example is boomering through Fortnite with presumably his kids, and he's around ~200 viewers. Imagine if Vic does Twitch thottery of his own. He'd make partner in a week while Risembools throw money at the screen.

I don't know what other geekery Vic's into, but I'd watch him DM some DnD. @Svetlana get Vic into vidya.

Vic would start every stream with "hold up guys let me remember the controls."

Star Trek and Star Wars are his geek of choice. He doesn't own a Vidya system and I'd be surprised if he's ever DnD'd.

We've talked about Twitch as a a backup for Unlocked should the need arise, but the boomer is strong with this one

I could personally see him enjoying tabletop role-playing, especially with how things are going for people like Critical Role.

My rule of thumb is take what you are about to say and then say it a week later. Act too hasty and you could find yourself in a million dollar lawsuit. Was going to say more on the matter but most people already said what I was going to say on the Otaku stuff.

Guess the other piece of wisdom I have is trying to explain or justify what you say is like putting a fire out with gasoline.

I have a sudden urge to see Vic play Dark Souls. I'd pay money to see that.

Noted. Spoke too soon about the learning thing I see

As for the price, this is a complex issue. He initially gave me a price and told me he would love to be a part of the project, basically confirming that, yes, he was in.

So, when I say he's to expensive, I don't just mean the pay. For a VA who is as talented and famous as he is he's actually super fair. And I am more then willing to help someone who was falsely accused of rape, something very similar happened to a friend of mine.

He saw the Tweets and the apology. We spoke about it last night.

Your "willingness to help" him is an interesting take since even in the midst of a scandal your project would have benefited from having him attached a whole hell of a lot more than he needed the $200 he quoted you to voice your thing. Dizzy from the spin.

Sorry about your friend.

Are you always this much an asshole?

Twitch would probably cave to the screaming harpies that would flag his streams claiming he's a rapist or some shit.

If you don't see why saying essentially 'I tried to seriously work on a project with him but he suddenly dropped off and stopped responding, but I understand he was busy so it's no worry' when speaking ostensibly as a prospective employer/business partner is not a good thing, I question why you're making press statements at all. Any casual reader who sees that would translate a statement like that into 'he was irresponsible and lacked basic work ethic to the point that we had to part ways, but to avoid potential legal ramifications we aren't saying that out loud'.

A better way you could have phrased it if you had to include those kinds of details would be "Although I approached him about the project last year, I recognized that he was extremely busy with the initial stages of the lawsuit, so of course expected not to start working with him until timing was more appropriate", or even just "I approached him last year about it, but of course there were no plans for him to actually work on the project until later" - something like that. If the person you're talking about is someone you want to work with again in the future, don't put the blame on them. Just don't.

There's a "Just Talking" category where Vic can... just talk. Basically Unlocked but on multiple platforms.

ISWV people are getting almost as spergy as KV
ISWV has always been as bad as KV. It took me some time to figure that out but it’s the truth. I don’t know Vic but from what I’ve seen of him he seems like a genuinely good guy. In no way does he deserve what happened. All of their affidavits are trash. One of their big talking points is taking an interaction with a young girl cosplaying and lying about it. They use an absolutely despicable person like Doucette as their mouth piece. MoRons attorney is just plain evil. But these are all the actions of the defendants not KV as a whole. Yeah KV is a trash fire, so is ISWV. What’s happening now is the curtain is being pulled back and the truth is being revealed. There are a whole lot of cash grabbers and dopamine seekers who do not genuinely care about Vic.
