I've returned with a few more of my observations, also some updates from Canada-land this morning. So the stimulus cheques have went out, and oh my God the government fucked up real hard with the payments. More or so in the aspect that they have
OVERPAID a lot of people. I fell in that category, and that was because partially it was an error on their part from anyone who applied for EI before the stimulus went out. They ended up issuing the original EI payments for everyone who lost their back pay, and the CERB is supposed to cover this month. Everyone that qualifies for the CERB gets up to 8 grand, so about 4 installments of 2000 dollars per month. So they are planning on keeping things on lock down until July or August roughly now in Canada. I am guessing if they've overpaid, once they determine that they'll either make you pay it back, or they'll probably limit the payments. I didn't intentionally get more money, so I'll resolve the situation once it comes time to do that. I ain't fucking around with the CRA on the phone, it's a fucking nightmare in normal times, let alone BAMBOO-FLU times.
I am defiantly concerned, because I do not want to put in the position of paying all of the extra money back if that is not the case. Many have tried to call to rectify the situation, many have been unsuccessful in that endeavor. So there is something fucked up their algorithm in the way they are issuing their payments. Nor am I the type of person that wants to fall in getting too much of what I don't really need anyways, I could say though that the government is at least taking the pandemic very seriously. Despite how I am not a fan of Trudeau or any of the ministers at the federal level because of how they have fucked so much up in a very short amount of time in their lack of response since the outbreak in Wuhan. Also, I am beginning to get very fucking stir crazy in the house, been almost a month since I've been on layoff, doesn't help I haven't seen another human being beyond my housemates in the amount of time either.
We also have our lolcow medical minister
MISQUOTING things that can be easily verified because of the power of Google. The numbers keep changing on their models, I guess they are attributing the significantly lower projected death toll to their fucking mistake of leaving the boarders open to
ONLY 11-25K DEAD OVER COURES OF PANDEMIC. While many have different observations, at worst in their models about 350,000 people could of been dead in the course of the pandemic, which would be 18 months. If that was allowed to happen, then that is literally 2 years that Canada would have twice the death rate in normal times. On average 250-300k people die a year in Ice Mexico, so over that 18 month period our death rate would almost double, and would probably be
higher than that since the serge in Corona patients would totally fucking collapse our health care system. So the 350k could see another 100-200k if the medical system collapses totally.
THE GREAT MASK DEBATE also has been a topic of discussion, I guess they are still having the whole WHO narrative about how masks aren't important for the common folk, and we have to reserve them for the health care professionals. Which I agree the front line people should be top priority, but the N95 respirators have been proven to prevent the transmission about 80% in most cases, but of course we all know it is to cover their asses for never replenishing the stock pile.
The antibody tests are underway in the States
BLOOMBERG OPINION ARTICLE so people are beginning to finally talk about the antibody tests, so how well they will work is pretty hard to determine. Here is a better article
14% IMMUNE IN ONE LITTLE GERMAN TOWN in the MIT tech review article, proposing that they are already working out a way of better predicting some lockdown measures based on the studies they've done in that town. I suppose they are going to try to use the health care workers in certain municipalities to try to determine a probable figure of what would be deemed to be asymptomatic in the population.
CANADA STILL DEVELOPING A PROPER ANTIBODY TEST and still has lack luster testing for the novel virus, only 9,812/1M tested as the date of posting. That means almost 1% of the population has been tested for the Novel virus from the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis this year. So we have some promising figures in regards to an anti-body test internationally, as well some better insights on the adjustments made to their cluster fucked models.
