He actually is genuinely assmad that Rambo didn't stay despite his own inability to be bothered with hanging with or helping him out from his long fucking drives to his old Pigpen. I honestly suspect given how he's angrier with him leaving than Leanna that he is in the closet as a low T manchild and is mad John didn't know he crushed on him too or something stupid like that.

If they took the time to rub their brain cells together, they'd see his 25 stream vest streak, think "the vest means he got $100", and then do some basic math and go "That means he got $2500, at least". Then they might wonder why he's also begging for tips for his "bills". But if they did any of that, they wouldn't be his fans.

Although some of them I've talked to just flat don't care what he's spending their money on. Which I would actually agree with them on, except that he's always asking for more. At some point, you ought to question why he always needs more, no matter what. But again, if his fans did that, they wouldn't be his fans.

To add onto what @actually responded with: I've also chatted to several of his fans, both old and new. Some of them simply don't care. Others like Phil because of all the "attention" that they receive when they tip or cheer large amounts. Take Nihilistic_goldfish as an example. This person purely cheers in large amounts for the attention and the badge. Phil's fans aren't the brightest, and a lot of them (perhaps most) have some odd thing about their personality, such as being a furry or other having another fetish. Phil is an odd personality. They relate with him more than we will ever understand.

EDIT: I was thinking of another specific example where I spoke with someone that gave about $65 to Phil in one day. I don't remember who they were (I think Goravirk), but they were a longtime fan that felt it was time to give back to Phil despite not liking him for who he is and what content he produces now. That occasion was the first and, presumably, last time they would give money to DSP.

Due to his twisted psychology I think it's more likely that Phil's outbust acted as a stress pressure release to the looming reality of his bankruptcy clashing with his delusional narrative that "everything's fine and all the bad things you mentioned are actually beneficial for me ACK ACK ACK MORON!"
His brain can't admit something is wrong and he should be stressed about it so it takes the opportunity of Phil bringing up his dead friend he's never given a shit about to do some redirected self-soothing.

He's a scumbag that just last year claimed he needed to go home to CT to see his dying parents one last time, only to get married and admit they're fine.

Phil doesn't care about anybody but himself. He'll pretend to be upset about someone he knows dying to manipulate the paypigs into forking over more of their cash. The first time he talked about his dead aunt, she had been dead for months beforehand and he never once mentioned her in any context. Phil only seemed to be upset because she wasn't around to give him rent money anymore and he really needed that money, dood (apparently not enough to where he ever rented the place to another person, wasn't worth the effort then). Naturally, once the aunt stopped being of any use to him, she became a source of Phil's personal problems, i.e. gout was her fault.
It's a similar situation to this friend he mentions seemingly once every couple years: never talked about before, but after they died suddenly they were such an inspiration to Phil and the reason why he got into the FGC in the first place. Cue the fake tears and the paypigs opening their wallets to make Phil feel better. It's such a fucked up relationship when your first instinct at seeing someone upset is to give them some money and that it actually works.
Phil doesn't even care about his parents, and hasn't for a long time. Claiming that your parents were on the verge of death and you needed money to see them "one last time" before they die is quite possibly the most disgusting thing he's ever done. I mean, I guess it's technically correct it was the last time Phil was going to see his parents, because he sure as shit isn't going to go back (he hates CT now because Kat hated it, even though he couldn't stop talking about how great everything was when he first got back) and he isn't going to have his parents stay over unless they do some work around the house while they're there. Not only did he lie about his parents being in such a state, it wasn't even true that he needed the money for the trip because his parents paid for it. On top of that, Mama Burnell gave Phil an extra $5,000 so he could pay his taxes. He should be eternally grateful for their generosity, but instead he only talks to them once a week so he could whine about detractors and possibly beg for more money. And speaking of the China Virus, has Phil talked about how vulnerable his "dying" parents are (especially his chain smoking mother) and expressed concern for their well-being at any point? I highly doubt it.
Phil is a vile leech, pure and simple.

He's already gone there, yesterday he mentioned in Twitch chat that his mother doesn't have it but would be at very high risk if she did (without specifying that it's her own fault for being a smoker). No mention of his father's health or high risk status because Phil is living proof that Freud is right hero worships the guy even though men are likelier (>5% difference in mortality rates) to die from it than women.

I'm going to make a very bold prediction here and say he'll start to tard cum it on stream for pitybux when either the vest stops working or another big WWE Gacha event starts, whichever comes first.
