Based on this description, the difference should be easy to tell. Is he mashing attacks constantly, or is he pressing X and then deciding what to do only when the ATB is filled?

Edit: Nevermind, you can choose "normal mode" but then also choose "easy difficulty", so this won't help.
He's still on normal. The game is just really easy, as most Ff games are.

You could tell by the damage he does. He is actually not THAT bad at it, these kinda games suit him because he loves time sink grindfests and Pokémon style weaknesses like thundara on mechs etc.

I knew before he started it'd end up like this, if you play as he does and gather every single gd item and do every single mission you'll be overlevelled and overstocked and never face an actual challenge.

Hes gonna have problems with a few bosses and some of the side quests since you just can't press X and utilize weakness. Mostly the HellHouse.

This is why I continue to doubt the people hyping up this Fan Fiction 7 salt. I'll believe it when I see it and we're enjoying clips of it but frankly there hasn't been a hard final fantasy in about a decade, and that's if you think they were ever hard. I mean you compare even the first Final Fantasy to Ultima IV and it looks like a casualized cake walk.

I just wish people would stop hyping potential salt. Let's wait until there actually is salt, plus if Phil does read these forums you're just giving him a chance to read guides.

I've learned by now that, while he'll always screw up something in a game, you can never pinpoint exactly what.
Like how he struggled for hours on Guardian Ape yet cheesed Sword Saint Isshin. It's this nebulous aspect of DSP where he'll get through a hard part of the game just fine, yet soil his diaper over something basic that no one else struggled with.
In Dark Souls 2, it took me hours to beat the Lost Sinner. Yet he beat her easy, and then went on to nearly ragequit on an incredibly slow and easy boss, the Looking Glass Knight.
Stop trying to predict the chaos and enjoy the ride, that's what I say.

Yeah, I can think of a few later on that are legit puzzle bosses, or just require you to have a good grasp on what you're doing, or they'll just counter you to death.

I'll give him a pass on smelter since no one, even those that find him easy, like him. And he raged HARD on smelter, rq the dlc over him too iirc

But LGK? Thats a sick fight and a pushover.
