At this point the most amusing timeline is appeals all coming back. The entertainment that can be gleaned from ISWV disappointment and KV gloating has already all been harvested back in September through December. Now that lawtwitter has gone all in on smugly insisting with 100% confidence the results of the lawsuit and jerking themselves off with being 'always completely right', they've set themselves up for a magnificent explosion should they suddenly fail. We've seen a few mini previews of it with the fee awards and such, but 'all counts reversed on appeal' is a lot harder to spin than 'Vic owes about 250k instead of 1m+'
Plus, if all counts get reversed and the lawsuit goes to trial, the fun of discovery and insane filings will continue on for however long it takes. If appeal fails it probably ends here, and all there is to look forward to is the dirty laundry Nick has, that is just one big shot.
Simple answer: They're banking on most dub anime fans who watch Funimation to follow or at least read their tweets, but not bother reading legal documents unless they're either lost cause ISWV or the choir. They're willing to pay $200k+ just to destroy Vic, because Sabat really, really hates him.
Slightly more technical answer: Sabat convinced Gen and the other bigwigs that the TCPA meant they could do anything they wanted for free, and by the time Chupp didn't award them all their fees it was too late.

I still don't understand them. They're arguing in their filings, and affidavids they never meant to imply or say that they fired Vic due to the investigation finding him being a sexual harrasser and assaulter.
So why didn't they just comply with the TDMA letter? You know, retract/remove the tweets, or simply clarify it.
Do that, and they were out of the suit right away; and saved potentially 200K. Even if they're still out of the Appeals and keep their TCPA win. Chupp never awarded them all their fees. They're not even appealing his fee decision.
Either way, they just threw money away.
