Firstly, because I do not believe the purpose of education is to make money, I have made sure to first use my degree to advance my mind intellectually/grow as a person. Also, to be honest, it gave me something to do while I was single to pass the time, like an adventure of sorts. Attending a University and graduating also gave me a sense of identity as a scholar as well. So there is a lot of inherent satisfaction, like a sports car, that I derive from the degree. Like a sports car, you do not need to make money off of it to enjoy it traveling with you through life.
My degree program is aimed at preparing someone for Recreation Management, including outdoor skills teaching. Lots of people who graduate with the degree run state parks, national parks, resorts, or work for the Department of Interior. The skills I was taught at the University, including outdoor skills teaching, research, English, Math, History, and Science have made the degree very useful for being a homeschooling parent.
From a financial angle, because I would like to benefit from the degree financially too, but not as the primary purpose, I have a second patent and some curriculum I am going to sell soon to make money.
