Welcome to the farms, please have a bit of space in your paragraphs to make it more readable.

Nah! It's fine. I only write what I feel when I wanna write a topic on something. I'm very bad at writing short words or trying to space paragraphs as some of my IRL friends say I do them horribly. So honest mistake on my part.

This better?

Search up the character Bui from Yu Yu Hakusho, Vic voiced him.

Yeah, that one bowled me over when I first found out. He also played Ura Urashima who fought Kurama in the semi finals which was before Bui.
Sabat's best and most original performance was as Kuwabara in Yu Yu Hakusho.

I hate to admit it but yes. He's excellent as Kuwabara. Thankfully that voice is so unique to his others I rarely ever hear Chris in it. That being said, when they redubbed the small movie and the Eizou Hakusho OVAs he sounded wrong.

Hopefully he did a better job with the 2018 OVAs...if we ever get to see those dubbed 🙄

Btw makes me happy yyh gets talked about at all

Funi vas don't have range, the only range sabat has is the yamcha voice, the piccol voice he uses for all the strong build characters and the vegeta voice. Funi vas have no range and its pathetic, i cant wait for Sony to pruge the bad apples, those who were quiet about the suit can keep their jobs since i don't think its right to fire everyone, just fire the one's with casting couches and got funi in a lawsuit in the first place.
Some of them do have range, but range isn’t the only thing that matters. Vic himself has limited range of voices he does for character types. But that doesn’t matter. What matters is what you do with it. Range is good and all but talent is far more important. At the end of the day you want an actor who can emote properly. If a guy can do 6 different funny voices but not emote then that’s not helpful if you want to dub emotional scenes.

I keep seeing this misconception thrown around because we all hate Funimation’s actors.

Listen I hate these guys with a passion, but let’s stop kidding ourselves. They do all know how to act and are good at it. True they were rough at first inthe original DBZ days but they all grew into it and improved a lot as the years went on.

Monica and Chris actually can act, Chris is especially good at it. Jamie herself can make comedic side characters really funny so long as the script is good.

All the other KV actors can act. That is why it’s such a shame they’re all jealous cunts.

Fans already liked them, Chris especially. They were just jealous because Vic had more dedicated fans, good looks, and he didn’t have to pretend he likes his fans. Had they left Vic alone their jobs would be fine and they’d weather this KungFlu easier because fans would support them. Now they’re scraping for scraps and trying to survive.

Bui shows how deep Vic's voice can go.

Knew we shouldn't ever trust a black furry running an anime Christain furry company. My god! That man is going to be doxxed soon if he hasn't learned already. Like it's already embarrassing enough that the people from IStandForVic that used to support his company outright let him burn his bridges. They all ran away and let that furry behind. The same group that will make 24/7 videos about KickVic doing stupid shit are the same dummies that are quiet about Fantasy Soft Entertainment's crap. How ironic of them to leave their friend behind. The idiot even tries to make his own Christian version of Animaniacs with angel dogs because cats don't belong to heaven according to many cartoons that claimed cats are the devil for Witches. I'm glad a few people who didn't fall for that furry's BS exposed him for what he really is and even got Vic to make a video condemning the fool in his nice way possible. (I feel sorry for Vic that got used by an insane furry with dreams that will never happen) The furry guy is reminding me of Ken Penders and we all know what happened to Ken and his "project"? I wanna feel sorry for the furry? But I'm not since he was exceptional and I hope he gets help by getting off the internet for his sake. (doubt it)

Why wait to dox him? Not like anything else is going on.

As for the YouTubers nothing surprises me when it comes to news. I mean cable stations have nothing better to do than be political and not report stuff other than their bias. Not much different here. They gotta filter all the stuff that'll make them look bad as it is all ass pats and dandelions.

I thought I saw Vic say at a panel that it was pitched down a little but I can't remember. He can go pretty low on his own of course.

There was another character in World of Warcraft he played and they did pitch the voice down so 🤷

I believe that was Ner'zhul, the shaman spirit that enters Arthas and makes him the Lich King.

TBH I don't give a shit about the range of a VA. Plenty of VAs have talent without a range. Patrick Warburton uses the same voice for every character. The difference always lies in his performance. Erica Mendez always uses the same 2-3 voices, but it's still effective.

I haven't watched a Funi-produced show in so long because I just don't have time to these days. (that and I heard the MHA dub sucked lol) Maybe one of you guys can tell me if Sabat can act - but knowing you guys, I think the answer is gonna be a flat "no".

Take what i'm saying here with a grain of salt but setting the disgust i garnered for Sabat aside i can safely say that every dub he was in, that i watched, i enjoyed. Be it Dragon Ball, YYH, MHA or the dozen others. He uses pretty much the same voice for everything now but he's also constantly cast for characters where this works just fine. MHA specifically i have to say i prefer All Might in the dub. It's by no means a perfect dub but the issue does not lie with Sabat here. He's arguably the saving grace of it.

I will say he's perfect for Armstrong in Fullmetal Alchemist.

In yyh hakasho sabat sounds like goldar from power rangers tbh.

Oh my God, he does. I never made that connection 😂

Cross-posting from the Moronica thread, but I learned that my Ping Pong Club DVD post wasn't a one-off. It's looking like all Central Park Media DVDs did this.

Cry harder, Monica. Funimation didn't care enough for you nor anyone else to put your names on the DVD covers.

Well. Vic is on Unlocked talking about people on social media who are good at pretending to have companies, but in actuality don't.

Three guesses as to who he's talking about, and the first two don't count.

Also (rough transcription): "There are people that want the accolades of doing something good, but they haven't done anything... It's much easier to create a perception online."

My general rule is that if you've done good or are generally good, it should be self-evident. You shouldn't need to talk the talk. And you wouldn't want to anyway, if your motives were good.

This is a transcript of the comments Vic made on his Unlocked live stream today,

You guys, I want you all, and I tell you this because I love you. I tell you this because this is something that I have seen over the years and I love you guys and I want you to be mindful of this. The internet and social media has brought us a lot of good things, but they've also brought a lot of problematic things. One of the things that they've brought us is perception. I was talking to somebody the other day and I was telling them, back before the internet, if you wanted to do something, if you claimed to be something or you claimed to have done something, you had to of done it, pretty much. You needed to do it. If you had an idea, it was up to you to do it. Today, there is no shortage of people on the internet who create a perception of themselves as a professional, producer, artist, an executive director, or this or that and because they know how to craft social media, you think they're professionals, you think they have actually have a company or a studio or a production or this or that and the reality is, they don't. And you don't know that.

I'm going to give you an example. There was a guy I knew years ago, who had this perception on the internet of being this big mover shaker, film maker, producer, director guy. And everyone thought he was this bigwig. Well, ultimately, I went to visit this guy and he lived in a tiny little trailer in a trailer park that didn't even belong to him. It belonged to an older woman who worked in town and he didn't work. He just sat at home and surfed the internet all day, but he lived in this little trailer home in this little trailer park and there's nothing with that, but my point to you is, the perception of him was that he was this big deal. There are voice actors I know and when you see them at a convention or you see them online or whatever, you think, "They talk like they live in some big fancy home and they drive this fancy sports car and they're so successful and wealthy and all of that." And I know voice actors who literally slept on their friend's couches because they didn't even have an apartment. I'm not saying that to put anybody down and I will never say any names, but this is very important that you understand that the things you read about people online, the things that you hear or that you see about people online, especially stuff of their own making, is many many times, it's perception, and perception is not reality.

There are a lot of people out there, and this is very important, listen very very careful to what I'm about to say. There are people out there who want all of the accolades of accomplishing something good without ever accomplishing anything. See what I mean? There are people out there that are so obsessed with the idea of getting attention and getting noticed and sounding like they're important and they're all so relevant and powerful and movers and shakers and so successful . . . and look at all the people that are looking at me and reading what I write. They are so preoccupied with the idea of ... with accolades of accomplishing something, but they don't ever want to put in the work to accomplish something, 'cause that's too hard. It's much easier to create a perception online, that you are somebody big and important and you have something to say about this and you have the inside scoop on that, etc, etc, etc. Instead of just creating something and accomplishing something of note.

When we started Star Trek Continues I sat down with the other people involved in it . . . and said look, "We're just going to make something really good. We're not going to buy advertising time, Facebook ads, or do any of that. We're just going to make something of quality and let the work speak for itself." There are so many people out there that make all kinds of noise and all kinds of bravado and they create this perception that they're this big deal and they're making this big thing and it's going to be so amazing and they're so successful and they don't do anything because they just want the attention and the accolades of accomplishing something without accomplishing something. So I want you guys to be very protective of yourselves. Just because somebody says I'm a director, producer, I'm this or that, I have this or that, anybody can create a perception on the internet and don't let yourselves be duped. Don't let yourselves be taken advantage of and I love you guys and don't want that for any of you. That's what I wanted to say.

Can't say that's completely true. Biggest bastard I ever met, a command master chief, was one of the greatest guys I met. Absolute asshole to people publicly, but behind the scenes he fostered kids and dogs and in general was just wholesome as fuck. Did a lot of stuff to keep kids in Jacksonville off the street. It's an odd dichotomy sometimes.

Religious comment here, but if someone's holding true to their tenants in Christianity - it's told to do your good in secret and not for the glory from men (AKA - look how great and good I am). Commenting on that because of Vic's beliefs. You're trying to get people's admiration or you're truly serving God's will. Just sort of how it is in that system.

Yeah, but it didn't matter what other people thought of him. He was doing good for good's sake, not for his own selfish reasons.

My point was more for people like Ron, for example. He's constantly saying that he's changed, that he's secure, that he's wealthy, but his behavior tells a different story. Generally speaking, if you are constantly having to say you're good, helpful, insert-character-trait-here then the opposite is usually true.

It's why I will cut a date short if the guy I'm with goes on and on about being a great feminist. That shit is a huge red flag.

Get those TMI ratings over here, I love Christmas, not for the getting presents, but the "Gift of Giving." I tend to like getting gifts that have a connection/meaning to the people I am getting it for. Not an easy task.
