Simplest explanation: Ethan doesn't know shit about collector's coins, sent them out as soon as they came in. Got the reports from "people trying to destroy comicsgate" by "trying to point out they deserve a refund", got uppity in public, calmed down slightly in private and said "ah, fuck it. The reliable pigs probably won't ask for refunds because it has my gay frog on it and maybe I don't have to give ground to the anti cg army. Let's see how this plays out"

Here's an easy way to find out who the licensee is. Since he told everyone to keep their gay frog coins, look at the packaging. There should be some sort of marking indicating who produced it

What I think happened is he didn't sell the license at all. (The "licensee" never existed as far as I can tell until last week.) Why share the profits on a campaign as simple as this?

He flogged the 99.9% silver because he wanted them to be special. Pure ego.

Turns out that only just over 100 paypigs were deeply programed enough to actually think lining his pockets for this dreck was a good idea and Ethan was stuck because there was a minimum order and he was going to be stuck buying the overage in pure silver and losing real money.

The easy solution was to buy coins and order not silver but rather regular currency grade then he was only on the hook for the art and not a bunch of silver he paid to much for. None of his paypigs would question it and tear open their cases to see if they were legit. Right?

Squeak out a nice little profit from a failed campaign.

Then Doug T talked Roilpoop into getting a coin to fuck with and it all started to come apart.

I'm just not buying that Ethan chose a licensing percentage to do all the promotion while someone else made the lions share of the profit. If he did have a licensing deal for them he would have bragged to his followers that people were clamoring to rent his IP to make products.

Jon's flying off the handle here with his shouts of disloyalty. It reminds me of when he tore into Nasser for sharing DMs and page rates, but eats Taco Bell smugly while Ethan does the same. His idea of loyalty seems to be a room of yes men that never criticize his actions. But if you're loyal to someone else, you're a white knight simp. It's a lol a minute.

It's funny now how Jon's turning against WC so late in the game, like their behavior is only a problem now when it's breaching his perimiter. I do think Ro's in the right and Jon blowing up over a tweet is unprofessional, and him shutting down CG Presents because of disrespect mirrors Mike dropping Drawn and Quartered. I say that with almost no context other than Ro sounding more rational in that conversation.

If you watch that stream Jon hints that he knows a lot more about the hinky shit Ro and his crew have been up to.

Jon and Cecil simply did not care as long as it wasn't pointed at them. WC turned on Nerkish, Tim Lim, Doug, Mike and others before Ethan ever decided to say they betrayed him.

I can't draw like Ethan, if I could I'd be a pro comics creator. These guys LARPing as "pros" have years to go before marketing a product. They loved to critique squirrel girl and other big 2 comics but the same rules don't apply to themselves. If you look at the pencils and inks of squirrel girl they are leaps and bounds ahead of this trash by a country mile.
"ItS aBoUt CuStOmEr SeRvIcE" is that why the art looks so bad? Because their satisfying the customer? I'm not sure what that means to them but for $25 a book I expect professional looking art, not MS paint figures with word bubbles.

Personally I really like it, but I've always preferred artists with an eye for graphic design like Mignola, Mobius or Adam Hughes far more then I care for Ethan's 'busy' detail orient artwork, If I'm looking for that give me Geoff Darrow who combines both.

Did you read Bigfoot bill? Damn that was lazy work and really poor writing. I preferred Bigfoot Bill when it was called Creature Tech, that other book from Doug about an escapee from an area 51 type installation who merged with a multi armed symbiote that gave him enhanced powers to fight supernatural evil. Now that was a great book.

Only positive I will say about Anna's Vamp is that at least she looks like a proper human body(for even doing it cartoonish and Bratz like) compared to the fuck ups Ethan did especially with the one he did of Vamp bent over. Her arm and shoulders are fucked up...... and there were other issues others even pointed out and of course with how Ethan thinks his art is the best of everyone in the world.......

Even I tend to have some issues at times with getting fingers and such right. I will keep at it and doing corrections. Granted I also tend to be over critical and picky of my own work sometimes. If it's something I am just doing for fun and just drawing I might let some things go, but not much. If I am doing something to even give to someone, I will do what I can to get it on par even though I know most of those who known me for years or even a short time tend to love my works.

I think since he did those for covers... then he should have done better and corrected the hell out of the mess ups, but he just left them. Same with some weird ass anatomy issues in his comic like that "SOY BOMB" guy with the fucked up disjointed fingers.

I've been saying it for a bit now, that his potential customers are gonna leave. Fucking hell, I think I saw someone in the chat basically say "I'm not buying from CG again". And that retard Ivan and Trunks thought they'd have a go at me over the whole saying this is bad business practice and that Ethan's a bad businessman. I mean what did you expect? A bunch of people who never took a business or economics class in their life (or at least failed at practicing the theories they learned in it if they did) white knighting a bunch of creators who spent their days just drawing for living. Sure, his paypigs try to lecture me about business whilst their asses are all tied up in a knot.

It's not just his fucking Praetorian Guards. It's Malin, Cecil, any fucking one of these fuckers up there who thinks they're hot shit. No one I know (except one fucking guy) even knows the name Ethan Van Sciver, Jon Malin or any one of these guys. Cause no one cares. I'm the only one in my life who keeps up with anything comics related. Heck, I showed my friend clips from these guys melting down over their livestreams and he said "this is why I don't do geek culture bullshit". They all got egos like a fragile fucking baby. Anyone else who steps into the ring from the outside that they all want to promote as well like Anna. You can't run an organized (or even a semi-organized) movement on art. The SJW agenda is a movement on art. You're either here to do business, or you're here to do art, there's no in-between. You want to prioritize art instead of money, and leave it up to the art to decide if it makes money or not and be happy with the results, or you gonna be Bob Iger and be in it for the money and if you accidentally make art, then you make art, even if it's shitty art like Last Jedi?

I thought cg was doomed to fail when comic book creators from dc/marvel took over the YouTube critic sphere from zack, Ernest, cumins, nerkish and etc. Like how TNA and WCW went downhill because a veteran took over a new company of great up and comers and the Veterans in semi retirement take over and made a clique to put each other over.

I left CG after the JDA saga, I knew then that once purity testing began it was only going to get worse. Since then Nerkish, Mike S Miller and all the rest have only proved me right. Ethan can brag about making money on his campaigns, but every other creator is doing extremely poorly. The smaller CG creators are making a fraction of what others were in 2018 when you look at what Brand and Ravage made in comparison.

Cecil, Zack and Ethan can still hit six figures, but I don't think any other creator other than them will unless they have a large inbuilt audience like Raging Golden Eagle. After a while I can see jealously begin to set in with the little guys as Ethan sucks all the air out of the room with his campaigns, as more creators chase after less customers.

That's what I mean. Am I a fucking idiot? Do I need to be less of a fucking idiot to appreciate that art? Is it my fault I don't have an art degree? The story is probably excellent, but I can read excellent stories without art. There are literally a lifetime of books for anyone that wants to start reading and feels the art is tertiary. Comics are supposed to combine art and stories, they need to be at least serviceable in both categories for a comic to be "just ok."

Stylistic choices that don't appeal to other people is just masturbation. When I see something I don't like, and then a CG stream shoves it in my face and tells me how it's acshully amazing, comes off as condescending, whether they mean to or not.
