He said something along the lines of " I could get on, tell my story and people would applaud not letting the comic gatekeepers crush me, but then none of those people would go on to buy my books."

I dunno, he may have a point, did Miller get a decent bump after the Shapiro plug? I don't think he did. But getting access to a bigger audience probably wouldn't hurt. I mean unless you shit the bed in front of said audience or said audience doesn't care about comics.

The difference between Rogan demos and Shapiro demos is pretty stark.

A one minute blurb on Shapiro's current events show doesn't have legs.

A two hour engrossing interview with the biggest podcaster in the world would be perfect for a huckster like Ethan. EVS has the chops to keep listeners enthralled and Rogan's audience is far more likely to have comic readers in it than Shapiro's as there are tuns of gamers in Rogan's audience and the ven diagram between gamers and comics nerds has heavy overlap.

If Ethan passed on a chance to do the biggest podcast in the world with a very anti-SJW gamer/pop culture interested audience he's a bigger fool than I thought.

Guys, I'm not a big deal. I know I have entire threads of obsessed nitwits devoted to me here on KiwiFarms, but I'm just a comic book artist on YouTube. On the scale of Joe Rogan's topics and personalities, I'm a nobody.

Joe Rogan hasn't asked me to come on his show. I'm not pursuing it because I'm not interested anyhow. It's not what I want.

If he asked, I'd consider it, and if I decided to do it, I'm sure we'd have a nice conversation.

But he hasn't, so it's a moot point. I go on my friends' YT shows for fun. That's enough for me.

Same reason NYT articles about Iceman Is Now Gay don't result in more sales for Marvel. People read those articles, feel however they feel about it, but 99.99999% of those readers aren't going to seek out the comic.

You're better off appearing on smaller shows that are entirely about comic books. You'll sell more books to a targeted audience.

Rogan's focus in the interview shifted from Sargon's cause to how fucking myopic and insulated from reality the worldview of this tubby Englishman really is. Or just watch at Jon Malin trying to dredge up hyperspecific examples of Marvel's political agenda from a panel of Fem-Thor #1 when pressed on it by that comic book retailer youtuber - Malin did not come off as someone who has ever experienced pushback on one of his claims before, which made him look high on his own bullshit. What I've caught on this stream was that no one actually proved the gold coins are gold either. We just got lucky SWC proved it wasn't 99.9% silver. If Ethan's cheap enough to not really sell real silver, what makes people think he'll sell real gold?

Also, on a completely separate tangent, just forgot to point out that when TUG came onto the stream Malin did when he was trying to flex about how successful Ethan and Malin are, he said shit like "Ethan drew for Green Lantern, that thing had a movie!"
