Not defending Mitch here because I am one of Red Roosters backers, but The Futurists was genuinely the best CG book I've read so far. I'm awaiting Soulfinder: Demons Match so we'll see if that can knock it off my number 1 spot.
Damn. The Futurists is genuinely the one book I really, really wanted to read. I'm super into that steampunk/Jules Verne/H Rider Haggard/Edgar Rice Burroughs kind of asthetic and pulp storytelling and I'm bummed that Mitch fucked up his crowdfunding model so badly that I didn't feel like I could back it. That and the fact that I'm still waiting on Red Rooster.
I hope he produces a trade paperback I can buy some day.
Sadly there's no such thing as Walmart in my part of the world. I'd no interest in the other two books either and after the Meg debacle he should have known that bundling books rather then have the individual teams promote them was a mistake. Plus he hinted that further issues would not be crowd funded. I directly asked him (prior to the Wallmart deal being anounced) how I could get it and he just hinted that it would be 'widely available'. Not if you live in another country fuck-head. So it was a no.
Another key point on why ComicsGate fails as a model (some of their international backing systems are fucked as well) when they decide to do things like Mitch did. There's no such thing as a Walmart where I'm from either. Meanwhile, I can go to a local bookstore that was still open before the coronavirus and buy as much TPB from DC, Marvel, Dark Horse, IDW and so on. Or just buy manga alone.

Liam's latest stream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVCq4F12-nA
At around 1 hour 13/14 minutes TUG calls out Richard, and his credibility as a ComicsGate figure. TUG basically asks if Richard is even CG if he doesn't take his "responsibility" to livestream or be on Twitter. TUG trynna go for a kill at Richard's neck here.
EDIT: Liam stupidly says that EVS "reinvented the wheel" at 1 hour 40/41 minute mark. Sure Liam, kiss that ass now.
TUG said that Richard doesn't promote other creators, does that mean he's not comicsgate? H
Tug trying to start shit with zack will be the end of him.
Now see, this is what I'm talking about when I talk about how irritating a-logging is.
I happened to be listening to that stream. The discussion point was, 'what makes a creator comicsgate, is it promoting other creators?'. TUG said that Richard doesn't promote other creators, does that mean he's not comicsgate? His answer was no, he has no obligation to use his platform to promote anybody.
I think TUG is a grifter and there's plenty of reasons to despise his antics, enough not to have to twist the truth to shit on the guy.
Tug doesn't promote anyone but whores out his daughter.
CyberFrog would be struck so hard none of them would utter the "muh millions!" EVS keeps shouting in defense of it. Captain Marvel made a billion, it's still a shitshow of a movie.
I don't think I was twisting the truth here. I know what the discussion was about, but the fact that he brought up Richard as a case is clearly going to divide a lot of these guys much further here. Richard's got a special position, EVS's got a special position, Anna's got a special case, who else is getting special treatment now? Because now, it's pushed the CG narrative to being about the need to declare yourself as ComicsGate, but even if you do, you're going to go through purity tests regardless. He's essentially throwing out Richard to the sharks here. In a previous stream, where the shithow happened with Malin, Malin outright asked "it's okay if Ceasar does it, but not me?" when they had a fight with Ro and Pan. So who exactly qualifies for this special treatment? So really, CG is all about doing what you like and not adhering to any kind of standard then. If it's about promoting who you like and who you vouch for, then these guys are required to make clear what their requirements are in SPECIFIC detail. Which you know what that means. You're gonna force these fucks to define what things such as "good storytelling" is. As bad as MauLer and the EFAP crew are, at least those guys can pretend they know the "Objectivity VS Subjectivity" argument when it comes to art well enough. None of these guys can even go on about their requirements without folding to their preferences instead. And how does this work then, because if everyone starts submitting different requirements, then it means books can pitted against each other.
See, this is what you get when you have artists who rely on the loose subjectivity of things such as art to define what is "good" and "quality", which is supposed to be an objective evaluation. If they were all forced to listen to a seriously talented writer, even CyberFrog would be struck so hard none of them would utter the "muh millions!" EVS keeps shouting in defense of it. Captain Marvel made a billion, it's still a shitshow of a movie.
Exactly. I'll be quite honest now. Girls with big tits or asses don't make me buy comics, it never has. I'm in it for the damn story. Entertain me bitch, that's what it is. If your story is so shit it makes my mind snap out of it because the logic in your story is so fucked it's making me question your work, then get fucked, I'm not enjoying myself if my mind's running amok trying to make sense of how stupid your story is. Challenge me on an intellectual level at least.thats pretty much it. How are your comics any better than Marvel or DC's? Just because you dont put SJW bullshit in there and have some girs with big tits, doesn't make it a good story.

He's probably privately chimping at his No-win situation in a chat every day now, since he has to either lose Malin completely and do his drama filled "HE BETRAY ME" streams until his viewers start drying up, or he has to lose his gay little club of CorpSec he's openly admitted to like having.Man, Isolation Ethan after a month has to keep coming in here about once every 36 hours or so to call everyone stupid and affirm that he's laughing and totally not mad bro. He used to have some rudimentary skill at bantz for his almost daily refutations and rebuttals. What's he going to be like after 2 months?
This is what I find funny about TUG, his opportunistic ways are just to visible to hide. Back when he had around 5K subs he used to promote indie creators all the time Cody (Jack Irons), Tim Lim (Thump), Jon Del Arroz (Flying Sparks) I think he even interviewed the RAGs crew at some point also.Tug doesn't promote anyone but whores out his daughter.
TUG has rage quit CG more times than I can honestly remember.TUG recently said he wouldn't promote anyone anymore. He walked that back some but not much.
TUG isn't CG. TUG is looking after TUG and no one else. If he's helping someone it's because he has an angle even if that angle is just to look good.
I wouldn't be surprised if Ro and Warcampaign were hated by pretty much every CG creator except Ethan and some of the smaller indies they showcaseBut then that's Ethan and half of CG anyway. Half these guys hate each other and only play nice on YouTube because they need the network to squeeze the customers (rumors of Malin and Ro despising each other circulated for half a year before this weeks big reveal).
They're all just trying to get to the next level in the CG pyramid (scheme). They're rats clawing at each others backs as they try to fuck each other to get to the next level on the pyramid.
Liam Gray is a complete nutcase on twitter, but he is able to present a calm facade as a host on his youtube channel. That's why it's so much fun watching these despicable exceptional individuals slowly implode their own "movement". It's not like any of them are worthwhile human beings to begin with.
My favorites are Micah and Liam. They're to dumb to even hide what scumbags they are. They're like Ethan if he got a massive head injury and lost 80% of his reasoning skills.
It' sure is fun to watch them cannibalize themselves. It couldn't happen to a more worthy bunch of exceptional individuals.
Doug Ernst is genuinely good people. I think Antonio Brice has been putting in some distance as well, other than the Cridious stream I haven't really seen him around much anymore. Are there are other presumed active CG creators who have dropped off the face of the earth? Mitch Breitweiser too I suppose.Edit: They're not all scumbags. But most of the ones who aren't like Ernst have been distancing themselves since last year when it became obvious that this "movement" bore no resemblance to what it was supposed to be.
You mean something kind of like this but a pyramid huh? Hmmmm. These people aren't worth the time and creativity of it though. LMAO. This is something that was thrown together a month or so ago. Fun the things that kind of show up online. It would be great if someone could make a graphic of this pyramid with names, then we could all discuss who belongs where and why. @TheLaughingMan I'm looking at you. **hint hint, nudge nudge**
TUG's only showing up because he has a comic he plans on selling, and the only reason he plans on selling a comic is because Youtube's anti-algorithm whore filter has demonetized his Johnny Depp vids by 85%. He's never walked back his loud proclamations from last year that CG was a failed movement full of infighting, ingrate traitors and gayops and that's why he's leaving to join #istandwithvic, only to find lots of gayops in there as well. As Matt thoroughly elaborated this morning, if he even suspects you of gayops he will cut you out of every behind the scenes social circle and communications group and "handle things" secretly in DMs. Because he hates gayops that much.Maybe.
Maybe not. TUG seems to be disgruntled with CG. He's refusing to promote any but his closest friends (people he can use) and he's talking smack more and more about CG.
TUG might be the end of TUG.
That is nice, but I meant just a simple pyramid with names assorted in some hierarchical order in terms of crowdfunding ability. That way when we look at the names we can try and figure out who will backstab who to ascend to the next rung of the pyramid. Even the former CG creators names in red as causalities would be a nice touch. You mean something kind of like this but a pyramid huh? Hmmmm. I kind of kept it back, but your pyramid idea kind of reminded me of this one sitting around. LMAO
