I randomly thought about eva sherbondy today (the 7 year old who fell off a golf cart & hit her head, parents believe god will heal her completely) & decided to check back.
She is still having seizures often. She started crying all the time. It is so bad that when she stopped crying they knew something was fucked up and took her to the hospital. She developed kidney stones. The kid is currently at the hospital so at least she is doped up on pain meds.
They posted a facebook video of her mom bouncing her lifeless body on the trampoline to the tune of "Sunshine, Lollypops, and Rainbows". It is reallllllly disturbing.

I copy and pasted some of the more fucked up entries I read so you don't have to visit FB to see this shit.

We continue to search for what’s going on with Eva. She remains regularly uncomfortable for some unknown reason that we haven’t discovered yet. As has been the case, all the things we’re checking on aren’t yielding any results. So she remains in the PICU as we try to find the right medications, try various tests, rock her when she cries, and pray for her when she sleeps.
I have a sense the Lord is up to something but am also feeling incredibly impatient and sad for my baby.
So many have offered heart-felt and helpful ideas and insight into what might be the cause of Eva’s discomfort, which we’re grateful for and make a point to discuss with her medical team. But for now, please simply pray the Lord reveals what we need to know and that He continues to work.
As my mom reminds Eva every time they talk: “He who began a good work in you, will be faithful to complete it.” (Philippians 1:6)

WE THINK WE FIGURED IT OUT!!
After even MORE tests and MORE scans, it basically turns out that she needed a particular medication we had weened her off of for seizures. Despite her having had many brain scans and EEG tests, they believe Eva’s brain has been having deep-brain seizures that are not able to be detected.
So, we’ve introduced the right medication back into her system and she’s doing much better so far.
Thank you for all the love and care you’ve sent us and once again, God came through.
In the middle of this hospital stay, when the anger and depression was at it’s peak for me, I was sitting in my car in the hospital parking garage on a Zoom staff call, when God brought to mind the phrase: “His eye is on the sparrow.” I know that’s not an actual Scripture verse and is based on Matthew 6; 10, and Luke 12, but it gave me a little dose of peace in that moment. Not only that, but right then, a half-dozen small birds happen to land on the parking garage wall directly in front of me and flutter around for a while.
I’m not sure why or what God is doing, but I know that if He sees and cares for the sparrows, I can trust Him with my Eva.

Well now that we’ve made sure Eva isn’t over-medicated…she’s back to crying more. As I’ve mentioned numerous times before, it’s brutal to listen to, but it’s also motivating us to really push looking in places we might not expect for the source of what’s upsetting her.
So far, all the usual suspects aren’t the cause, so we’re asking all the medical teams to start looking in places that might not necessarily make sense. Hopefully this will lead us to what’s going on and then be able to help Eva be as comfortable as possible so she can keep healing.
Your prayers mean so much and God is working! Please keep praying that the Lord divinely reveals what’s happening in her body to the wonderful people caring for her!

Hey guys, just wanted you to know that Eva is back in the hospital. She’s been really out of sorts and crying almost constantly since we left the hospital last time, and then yesterday she was unresponsive all day, which was very unusual. Later in the evening, we noticed her blood pressure and pulse were a little low, as was her temperature. It’s such a very drastic change from the constant crying to unresponsive that we knew something was up.
We connected with her doctors and after the paramedics came to do an official check, we felt it best to take her in to ensure she’d be safe and also try and figure out what the heck is going on with her.
Lindsay was with her through the night and, annoyingly, all of her tests — CT scan, belly scan, lung scan, full metabolic blood panel, urine sample — all look great. Her heart rate and blood pressure are abnormally low for her, but her temp is normalizing. She got fluids on arrival but isn’t currently on any IV meds or fluids.
Essentially, doctors just don’t know what’s going on. Her primary doctors are shocked that her blood panel came back looking good. They are going to test cortisol level this morning and recheck her blood around 8, but that’s the only plan for today as of now.
So, all the wonderful “Eva’s Army” prayer warriors out there, pray that this time we will figure out what’s happening and how to help her. We’re praying for wisdom, creativity, and out-of-the-box thinking for all the doctors and nurses and specialist who are caring for her, that when we come home (hopefully super soon), we’ll have peace of mind, knowing she’s comfortable while God continues to heal her!

Okay, well at this point it’s just getting funny.
Guess who has kidney stones?!?! Eva does! Like mother - like daughter, apparently.
Last week, Eva was having a super rough time with a lot of crying a pain. We did the best we could to figure out what was causing it, with very little success. Then she had a very calm day, followed by a full day of vomiting. She couldn’t keep anything down so we brought her into the hospital on Friday to avoid dehydration.
Since then, we’ve been running various tests to figure out what is causing her so much discomfort and one of the discoveries was that she has 2-3 kidney stones in each kidney.
At this point, the causes of her pain do NOT seem to be constipation, a UTI, or even the stones themselves. We’re looking for a couple more tests to further eliminate other potential issues and/or find the specific thing that’s upsetting her.
So the adventure continues! And I did get a little smile from her too (2nd pic), which was nice.
Please keep my little girl in your prayers and she continues to slowly (and painfully at times) heal. Also pray for wisdom and clarity for all those caring for her, that we find the source of her discomfort and then eliminate it.
Thank you! @ American Family Children's Hospital
