This is probably the closest to the truth. He has some curiosity about guys but is deep in denial because 1) It's "wrong"; 2) He's incredibly sensitive to criticism or judgment; 3) His paranoia is out of control---for example, saying something simple like "Yeah, she's hot" when he has to interact with a woman in a game is easy, but instead we get a rant about how he's married now and no longer can notice any woman but his wife, which is totally fucking weird and sounds more "gay" than what Phil thinks is gay; 4) He's afraid to make any jokes that could get him in trouble with Twitch; 5) He's afraid to do anything seemingly condoning "acting gay" because it will get clipped and become yet another thing he's mocked for.
I think Dave would fit well in the gay bear culture.
