- My friend-who-works-for-a-college says they're discussing a hybrid program for the fall. Kids would come back to the dorms, but do a lot of classes online.

Ah, so they get to charge full tuition AND room and board. Clever. Get to save on classroom janitorial too. I mean you could let them remotely school from home but you have to justify massive yearly tuition increases somehow.

They are literally paying people to take barrels of oil as prices go negative. I wish I had a warehouse right now.

Also, Austrian accents always sound so authoritative and efficient.

So what you're saying is now oil is considered a waste product? I'm fine with that.

Also "lessons from europe. How to reopen an economy" ... is that titular a fucking joke?!

you guys beat me to the punch, but yes, this is bleak. It cratered earlier this morning, but fucking nose-dived only in the past couple hours

a word of wisdom because i love you mongs. the media acts like the entire economic crisis is because of people not working (and that certainly is the most impactful aspect to normal people right now) but they've been disturbingly silent about the massive direct impact that the supply of oil is having on the dollar, and in turn, the economy. no one wants to discuss the "d" word, but the infinite quantitative easing bullshit is an obvious attempt to hedge deflation. notice how the S&P 500 is waddling along at only -2%.

you really shouldn't hoard your money, but I recommend that everyone be mindful of their balances and don't buy stupid shit you don't need.

Why do some people want the lockdowns to continue indefinitely if more and more people lose their jobs? I have seen this sentiment on a local subreddit and I want to know why? Do they like seeing their enemies lose their livelihoods or is this an excuse for communism?

I agree, and I'm getting really tired of the 1940's fetishism (I saw another Kiwi coin this term and loved itt) a lot of NPC's express with this.

At least back then DOING MY PART meant going outside killing Nazis or making cool shit in a huge factory, not sitting at home sitting in front of the skinner conditioning box ingesting crap food and getting more anxious by the minute.

Marco Rubio would have been a terrible GOP candidate, but he's pretty based on how to deal with China post-Corona

He's Tony fucking Blair. He thinks he's the Messiah.

Here's the paper

Soft lockdown means you need to show your clear status on your government-mandated loicense/spyware app. Thanks, Tone. I was just thinking 'What the UK needs is to be more of an Orwellian hellhole'.
There was a column in the Times today that outright called for the government to permanently track us even after the pandemic’s ended.

The creation of a national ID card system would not exactly be fast work, but who knows how long this crisis will continue or if future pandemics will occur? Besides, this a good idea beyond the current crisis; a stone to kill multiple birds, from voter fraud to welfare abuse, identity theft to illegal immigration (once citizens need a card to access bank accounts, housing and healthcare it will be much harder to melt into anonymity).

I guarantee you if working in a factory only required paying substance wages every american would be in a factory right now. the average american had a wage roughly equivalent to the current price of oil once you factor in victory gardens and volunteering.

Rubio's a whore, if someone paid him enough he would talk about how big your cock was. The fact that he has this position means his handlers realize the way the wind is blowing. And considering how much wealth is concentrated in the over 70 group the fact that he has this view shouldn't come as any surprise

The fucking ID card zealots are at it again? Good christ, do they not realise how tone deaf they sound right now?

Holy fucking shit! Just saw oil at MINUS $24/barrel on wsj.com. Yesterday was $18/barrel. How the fuck did oil go down $42/barrel in less than 24 hours? Jesus!

Oil futures. Suppliers are at capacity and are paying people to take future contracts so that they can keep the supply chain moving.

Oil that cheap? Russia is gonna be a banana republic if this keeps up.

Now it's MINUS $37.53/barrel on the WSJ site. Beyond belief!

On a different subject, Victor Davis Hanson keeps pointing out inconvenient truths, at least for some.

Added: Interesting article comparing the ChiCom flu to previous pandemics.

Oil's at -$36.76.

To be fair. ID cards make sense. I've had one since my birth, never caused no issues. It does help with illegal immigration culling, wealfare, healthcare. Basically it's a commodity. Hell everybody carries a phone anyway, if they wanted to add creepy shit it'd be easier putting it in the thing that has an actual battery stuck to it.

I already talked about how here in spain ID cards are literally used as antifraud measures by even the fucking pizza places. I know to a burgerlander this must seem crazy, but it works.

To be less fair though... is now really the fucking time for this shit?! No. No it's not.

I'm so glad spain's economy imports oil instead of exporting it right now.

people are apparently happy sitting in their car for 45 minutes to get a drive through In-N-Out burger.
That's S.O.P. for In-N-Out. I'd happily idle through a whole tank of gas for a double double.

ETA:
This is the icing on the kung flu cake. Watching the preening attention-whoring LGBT community (let's face it -- it's mostly going to be trannies) freak out over losing their precious month of forced degeneracy in the public eye is going to be delicious.

Of course I can! The gov made this beautiful sample image. If you want I can edit this message to explain it in more detail. Here you go:

And before you ask. No I'm not taking a photo of mine. No not even the expired ones.
Fuck, I'm terrible at doxing. :(

So, asking for a friend, is anyone checking what you do with any negatively priced oil you purchase?
Also, how much oil could a person pour down their kitchen sink before they start seeing problems?

I wish Scotland were independent right now. Wee Jimmie Sturgeon would be killed by starving mobs.
