Dr. aNTHONY Fauci has been spreading doom and gloom for months. I said the virus was just Swine Flu 2, not a big deal.

Now that it's turned out that the virus didn't even meet best case predictions, with social distancing factored in, why shouldn't I have Dr. Fauci's job? My predictions are better than his. Isn't this a meritocracy? If some stupid layman like me can predict epidemic trends better than he can, why shouldn't they hire me for, like, $50k a year?

I think you could do it, but don't you have to rape a bunch of children on an island somewhere and sacrifice Haitian kids to moloch and be jewish to be in American government now so that other people have things over you to make you behave? Either that or you end up stiff in Ft. Marcy Park. Be careful, man!

Such is the fate of someone who successfully predicts a crisis and is taken seriously by the media: the crisis is mitigated, and in hindsight the person looks like a total buffoon. The same thing happened with Y2K; lots of people worked very hard to fix the old systems, and when the clock hit midnight on New Year's Eve, the media (drugged by hindsight) declared it a nothing burger. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, but people are rewarded much more handsomely for the latter.

Also, he went to medical school and you didn't.

The difference here (I am familiar with the Y2K computer effort): the prevention didn’t do shit. It found its way into every county, and it seems like with every new article it turns out that the infections were drastically underestimated.

They underestimated the contagiousness and drastically overestimated the lethality. I would wager that over half the population “has the disease” (without even knowing it) at present.

All the social distancing in the world won’t do a damn thing. When you go in a grocery store, just picture all the things you touch that another person might ha e touched. Now picture all the things that they probably touched before. Imagine six billion people moving around the globe. If it wasn’t especially contagious it may not be a problem, but they played it up especially big for this.

The doctors are morons, Fauci should be shot.

Well, I was kind of hoping some of you might use this as a springboard to talk about what it's like having a romantic orientation that doesn't match your sexual orientation, or observations on that phenomena. In particular, I'm interested in the idea of biromantic heterosexuality, because part of me likes the idea of "loving" a man in a romantic way, but I don't want dick in my ass and I do want to have a family with a woman. I feel like the Ancient Greeks were maybe onto something with their ideas about love between men and some of their homoerotic stuff, but I don't want manly hands jerking me off.

Or I'm extremely far in the closet.

I mean, as far as concrete stuff goes, there's one friend I had who I admired/liked so much that I felt something that I think was almost akin to a crush.

What's with the Fauci hate?
He behaves like you expect a doctor to behave. That CNN uses whatever they can to "own Drumpf" isn't his fault.
I'm sure he's a lovely person. It's just that I'm really tired of the wall-to-wall media blitz that always accompanies the usual scumbags creating a fake celebrity to push their talking point du jour. When I see a Literally Who suddenly on every news channel, my first question is "what are these assholes astroturfing this time?"

Anthony Fauci is the director of the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and has served in the position since 1984. If he isn't the foremost authority the media should be turning to on how to halt the spread of COVID-19, who do you suppose is?

And despite all that training and experience I outperformed him in a field where I have NO formal training...
