Let me tell you how it works: when people talk about happenings in a thread they usually back it with screenshots, videos, etc and preferably archives. If not others often fill the gap so that the thread and laughs are kept up to date, true and honest. You made a claim of happenings, large funny happenings going on right now, something better than constant frog a-logging or vs Doug drama while providing no evidence. So I went looking for that promised entertainment and reported back with what little i could find for the thread, but couldn't come to the same conclusion and conceded future REEE-ing is still on the table. You then point to my posts as the epic win you idiotically think they are.

Preston is out $225+ for as far as i can tell very, very little reaction. Is it funny? Yeah kinda, but i again point you to the Vox trademark dispute and how quickly that developed for comparison.

Check your inboxes, Mike sent out a dropbox link with PDFs. He must be trying to generate good will from his backers because it included a Lonestar REDUX PDF and a Monster Hunt PDF when I should have just received Lonestar 2.

According to his latest update the books are printing and fulfillment should begin in about two weeks. He also claims the script for Lonestar 3 is finished and he'll start drawing this week.

Same here, I liked the troll because it's clearly just a troll move. Doesn't really matter to me how anything transcends from here. I don't think Preston even cares about the trademark that much. JSG's reaction to it made me laugh a lot harder than I thought it could.

I find it hilarious that some people here love it when Ethan trolls, but not when he gets trolled. I'll be honest, this isn't the place to be acting like you're impartial, but then get all pissy pants when someone you side with or is more inclined to like gets shit on. Everyone will get shit on, despite what anyone feels. Your only concern should be if it's funny or not, and not to defend someone or something biasedly. If it ain't funny, move on to a point that is then. I don't laugh at some of the stuff people here find funny, but I don't see the need to correct anyone over that. They had their fun, I can have mine too.

I enjoyed it when people of CG were "owning the SJWs", now I'll enjoy it for the fact that they've become the exact same shit and laugh at the instead because I've already grown desensitized to the SJW bullshit, they're never gonna become better people, so now, the next on the pecking order are those who oppose them and claim to not be hypocritical, but turns out to be just as bad, if not worse. Preston either picked the best time or worst time to pull this stunt.
Despite what Newman's Own says about Comicsgate going super retard meltdown mad over this, most people remember (but above all do not mention) when TUG tried to trademark "Renfamous", doxxed himself in the process and Ren just laughed at him and gave a public walkthrough how easily it could be disputed. While Preston almost certainly knows more about litigation than Mailbox Matt and may have tricks up his sleeve that he didn't, I'm just going off the public perception here. Thus, I would argue CG was merely regular tard mad or performatively mad instead of truly super retard meltdown mad.

Ironically, the louder CG chimps out over Preston, the better it probably is in the long run for the "movement" to have an paper enemy to unite against.



On the other hand, who knows? Maybe it best serves Preston isn't taken seriously as a threat so he can get more traction on this trademark thing while CG fights among itself. I'm going to wait until Rackets or a competent lawyer weighs in on this mighty act of legal trolling.

In any case, Preston's definitely getting coverage from any youtuber that covers Comicsgate as well as the ability to draw eyes from mainstream comic news outlets Bleeding Cool, so whether or not it results in what he says it has it's a win for him. And Preston's pals are having a lot of fun with it, declaring Krissy the President of Comicsgate, advertising Jon Del Arroz' Robotoad: Rekt Manlet comic as the first official #comicsgate comic, Crypto Comics parading as the new Ro, etc.

He also likes making lots of historical comics centered on tig biddy lesbians and after unsuccessfully trying to get on either EVS or Malin's show to sell them with an endorsement, found his niche by making a weekly show aggregating the ridiculous shit that goes on in Comicsgate complete with receipts and video clips for people who hate CG but don't want to trawl through the ocean of sewage themselves. It's considered credible enough that even CG creators watch his program to get a clue about what landmines to dodge or what Comicsgate is about without spending all day doing it themselves.

I believe what initially happened was Frog being trepidacious of using his platform to sell any adult sexual content (at first, he later caved on this to promote Wenger's Super Harem). But rather than just tell Preston this and have to argue the validity of imposing a non-CG principle on a "Comicsgate platform", Frog just evaded and ghosted him whenever a request for a plug came up, leaving him with the impression of some sort of inside track or cronyism going on. Then Poulter successfully got onto Jon Malin's Comicsgate Presents Program, but WC dug into his creative team and found his editor made "anti-CG statements" on social media and demanded she be removed or the project not be considered CG. After this Poulter lost his patience and decided to get exposure by exposing corruption and cringe going on within the Comicsgate community, gradually building up a solid platform with his fastidious presenting of video receipts and backing up his claims.

Since he's not CG (although legally I guess he is now), doesn't discuss that much that wasn't gone over here first and doesn't get up to any lolcow activity himself, he doesn't (and shouldn't) get any coverage in this thread. If certain posters here continue to lower the tone by inanely championing "heroes" and hooting about "villains" instead of meaningful discussions, posts exploring the reasons for this may be in order.

newmans own thinks this is a masterful troll that has CG chimping out left and right. His evidence is me saying i can't find much, apart from that JSG video I posted and calling him a no-no word. They seem surprised that on a forum dedicated to cataloging lolcows and happenings somebody went to check if it was indeed happening. Unfortunately, so far, it's not. I also think that if your epic troll costs you, is mostly ignored, and benefits people you hate more than yourself you're an idiot and have clowned yourself.

It's probably just a matter of personal tastes or whatever that phenomenon of looking at the same thing and seeing different outcomes is called, if the response was a fraction of what Vox caused I'd laugh a lot too. It's solid meh from me so far and playing out much more like the 'fuck off re.tard' meme. That might change, but when i looked the best i found was the JSG video.

I can see how i might come off as a loyalist or whatever, but i have no attachments and the amount of money anybody should spend on them rhymes with an hero. It probably doesn't help that i hang out in A&H and TDS threads and the similarities can seem pretty prominent. There's plenty to criticise about EVS and the movement, but it always comes down to the most banal and stupid shit possible.

Frog has a really bad habit of insincerely heaping praise on creators and promising to showcase their books and then promptly forgetting about them.
As a result, I'd say half the 'enemies' he has comes from that group (starting with the 'Rags' creators).

Given the number of turbo-speds that orbit Comicsgate with a project, you'd think he's have learned by now that making promises he has no intention of keeping is a bad idea but he still does it.

I did consider Warcampaign's book in my previous post about comics carrying the Comicsgate label, but I think Preston would fail in a C&D since the wording is CG Only and not "Comicsgate". Not to mention since Vestige is currently shipping and Preston has no books carrying the Comicsgate label, Ro and Gat could claim prior use.

The Rags crew never wanted any promotion from EVS, they wanted him to help smaller creators like Mistah Marvel (Juanpool) and Cody Fernandez (Jack Irons). Brian Ball released DMs with Ethan on twitter over a year ago to correct Ethan's claim they were simply angry at him for not promoting them, after the whole Comicsgate Alliance print scandal they have firmly been against him.

My vote has always been for giving EVS his own thread. I'd write one up myself except for stealing from the OP and some early CG stuff i know fuck all about him. My reasoning is to look at how little the TUG thread bleeds over.

As Mister Dongs said that was a fake shot created by Reinoe, an unemployed troon (according to his pronouns) who spends to much time on twitter and is generally ignored by almost everyone in CG. Andrew Huerta, Donal Delay, Micah Curtis and Warcampaign all took the bait and spread that around after flagging FANs twitter so he couldn't even prove his innocence.

ZUb-Zub has been my favorite. He really seems pissed that I said it was a brilliant troll. He's been typing out long outrageous posts and lobbing the best insults he's cognitively capable of ever since. The other EVStards have joined in.

Did I expect an actually "massive sperg" out? That depends on the scale you're looking for. Preston's troll has been done before with varying degrees of success. Vox did it first. (I don't know if it was intentional) The reaction was huge and in retrospect pretty funny. JDA did a riff on it that got a smaller goofy reaction that was still entertaining.

When Preston did it I expected returns from it to be diminished again but significant.

All I had to do was say it was a "brilliant" troll and I had Zub-Zub and his zoo crew spend the day "debunking" my opinion (like it matters) because I was "wrong on the internet".

Zub-Zub's increasing anger and the anger of his fellows was pretty funny. Autism abounds.

I hardly even looked at Twitter for people chimping out yesterday. Why bother when you've got Zub-Zub writing novels to tell you no one is being "autistic about this".

All in all, yesterday was a pretty good day on the farm I think..
