These days it could be that because of the woke trend most Western media is garbage right now so people are more invested in foreign entertainment IDK.I find it pretty weird how a lot of Westerners are obsessed with anime though. Like, like what you like, but part of the obsession with anime that comes from the West in particular has a sense of exotification added into it. Liam's manga's aesthetics as drawn by his artist is a clear issue of having an identity crisis in whether or not it's a manga or a Western comicbook. The thing is, if you want to blend them, you have to blend them properly, and one has to take clear precedent over another. It's why My Hero Academia worked really well on aesthetic level. Few succeed. I mean, VERY few. The manga style is clearly still at the stage of "trying to be manga", which is a step a lot of Westerners fall into. And Liam had the nerve to try and pile a Western style into it on top of that.

You should look into growing your base. maybe make a deal for Europe or Japan to get your book into shops there. American comics are getting hammered there because of their low quality, your books could do very well. more readers means more backers in the long run. It's important to stay resilient as things change. If things aren't working as well, I'll think of something new. But for now, this is great.
I don't know if Ethan did any of that out of concern for Liam. Ethan's in a tough spot. Liam's show is making problems and drama that is not helping him to say the least. It's keeping the war between Cecil, Malin and WC hot and creating a rift in his fan club that's likely to translate into less frog bucks for the pie man.
But Ethan can't just tell Liam to shut the most successful thing he's ever done down for fear that Liam says no. If he told Liam and Liam said no that would cut into Ethan's power because his power is based on the perception of people like Liam following his lead. Plus it would make Ethan into even more of a hypocrite if he told Liam to cut out the YouTube drama mongering.
But if he concern trolls Liam into giving up the drama that has definitely raised his profile "for his own good" Ethan scores a bloodless win and shuts the drama show down without looking like he's bullying anyone.
Calling it "gaslighting" is giving them a bit too much credit. It's not gaslighting if the only person you convince is yourself.I might be missing something here, but TUG's information wasn't made public by Preston. It was made public by the people who post in the TUG thread. TUG's been crying about that thread, so is this another one of CG's way of using the Farms as a gaslighting tactic?
I have a feeling it ends with a pinned thread titled "do not do business with Ethan Van Sciver or comicsgate"Calling it "gaslighting" is giving them a bit too much credit. It's not gaslighting if the only person you convince is yourself.
Mailbox Matt Lewis is too much of a bitch to ever do anything to the people who openly shit on him like us, or Ro Kabir, so in order to maintain his vastly overinflated sense of self worth he'll dox lil' ole ladies making factual videos about Ribbitcoin.

Now Frog seems to be pushing the demonstrably false claim that VikkiVerse has wronged Matt in some way that justified his doxing. Let's see how this goes for him.
Zack identifies "mentally ill stalkers" and ignores them. He's sickened by KiwiFarms lately. Doesn't even read this shit anymore.
But I do! I still like it here.
Yeah turns out tards on the internet aren't the best people to trust with your personal information, no matter how much of a wave of "professionalism in comics" they ride in on. Because if one critic attacks them, that makes all critics fair game for attack by any means necessary.I have a feeling it ends with a pinned thread titled "do not do business with Ethan Van Sciver or comicsgate"
I could be wrong. But doxing little old ladies with dogs after losing money because of a scam seems like the Chris-Chan thing to do and nobody likes a fat exceptional individual.

New rule for CG from EVS for CG. Attacking little old ladies is now cool as long as Ethan doesn't like them.
I feel like Liam had a role in drafting this new rule.
I get the feeling it will be a few days before @FROG decides to come back here and write another series of 1000 word essays explaining to people on Kiwi Farms that he doesn't care what people on Kiwi Farms think.
I also feel a ComicsGate cope stream coming up.
Ethan really is entertaining.
Edit: And just like that, they begin to deny TUG was ever a part of ComicsGate.
Ignore all the times he's claimed to be CG. Ignore that his wife is WarCampaign. Ignore that he released a shitty black and white kids comic marketed solely to ComicsGate paypigs, and ignore that TUG has always been CG/WC.
Now that he's out as a doxxer TUG is CG adjacent or something.

Guess TUG isn't really CG.There's clips of him saying he's CG and that he's WC. Can't be arsed to dig it up, but it's there. Trust me.
You're doing the good lords work going into those boring ass streams to represent the farmhands who can't suffer through the banal hours of autism and reporting on it.
And yet unlike Doug, your numbers customers wise dropped, probably because 25 bucks plus shipping for a metallic cat smacker isn't seen as good value. Bragging about money from mediocre products is what failing corporations like Disney like to claim is a 'success'. Fitting you're aping them when the screws are put in given how hard you a-log them.He fought RumbleBee for seven pages and won. Then he fought the Vyzpzz for three pages and got his ass kicked. The entire point was that he got shut down quick by the invasion.
I appreciate all of the compliments about my writing, art and enthusiasm, and Jae Lee's covers are awesome.
I don't hear many actual backers saying they got "shortchanged." I hear them saying, "Where can I buy the variants?"
My customers are having fun and are enjoying the crowdfunding experience. CYBERFROG is becoming a brand, everyone knows it. Steve Geppi name-dropped it yesterday on the retailer livestream.
I think it'll keep growing. Hit me with those Optimistic rainbows!

And that same issue of Fantastic Four you overpaid on because you're a mong who speculates too? I likely have the same issue bound in a nice squarebound trade book with 19 - 24 more issues to read of them too. Hell, might even have that copy for 12 - 25 cents because my dad loved reading them as a kid. More proof why the west is failing to Manga right there if you still don't get why they're kicking your ass.
A lot of braggadochio for a person whose audience is shrinking and he's just squeezing those brainlets' wallets harder IMO.
His artist is very young and from a country with no comicbook tradition. He probably grew up on anime and started drawing like that. These days it could be that because of the woke trend most Western media is garbage right now so people are more invested in foreign entertainment IDK.
The LCS "charity" auction raised 430k for booksellers. According to their own tweet "many, many" stores have applied for funding.
This is enough money to give 430 stores 1k each which at the most optimistic estimate is a few days operating expenses to pay for books, maybe a dent in the rent on retail space in a strip mall.
They don't specify how many shops have applied for aid but this trash auction won't change the future for any of them. It's like giving someone who is terminally ill an extra hour or two to say goodbye.
The charity doesn't say how it picks winners and losers only that they raised money.
"Over $150,950" in financial aid has been given out between 135 U.S. comic book store owners so far as part of the Book Industry Charitable Foundation (BINC)'s charity efforts in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. BINC reports that 722 comic book stores have applied for aid so far, with applications being processed daily.

BINC has received several notable donations to this cause over the past two months, including $250,000 from DC; $433,166 as part of the #Creators4Comics auction; $10,000 from the Certified Guaranty Company (CGC); unspecified funds from Oni/Lion Forge; and over $150,000 (and counting) as part of DC Publisher/CCO Jim Lee's ongoing 60 sketches/60 days art auctions.
