I see the cycle slightly differently.

Her smug defenses have broken down and now she's completely drained having to deal with the consequences of her actions, so now she's seeking pity, which she can only get from the same kind of terrible, selfish assholes she's surrounded herself with. To literally everyone else, she's transparent as a sheet of glass and it's obvious she brought this entirely on herself, but to the core fanbase she caters to, they will lovebomb her and tell her she's doing her best, the others don't understand, they're all crypto-fascists and bootlickers who don't understand how much of a revolutionary Jess is. They'll build up her armor again, and she'll start feeling all self-assured and self-righteous again, and then she'll make another strip to piss off normies because that initial rush of attention makes her feel like she's being brave for causing such outrage... until it quickly becomes too much to bear because she can't take what she dishes out, and then the armor cracks and reveals that she's an insecure, spineless worm who bows to the whims of people who she thinks is cool so they'll accept her. She'll change her art style, she'll change her name (again), she'll change the subject matter of her comics to appease the worst people in the trans community.

And so it goes.

Here's another line of complete horse shit from that article:

I've worked in retail for over a decade, and I can tell you first hand there are giant signs in the employee break rooms that announce STOP LOSS! These posters instruct employees to report ANY questionable activity and even provide a discreet 3rd party hotline if you are scared to come forward (maybe your supervisor is stealing). Many companies provide rewards in the hundreds of dollars to employees who stop theft.

Now, it may be so that some places have a policy that rank and file retail workers are not to personally confront thieves in the store, but you bet your ass they're expected to contact security, to do something about it.

So, the idea that businesses are totally OK with employees turning a blind eye to customers stealing from the store is fucking preposterous. And this moron, Laura Izaguirre, also throws in this line for good measure:

"It shows how none of the critics of Mallorie’s comic have themselves worked in retail. They attack her because they have no connection to the actual working class."

Keeping in mind that those who are defending Mallorie are the sort who come up with long rambling explanations for how multimillionaire celebrities are the working class but a little old grandma with a knitting supply store can be an oppressor.
