The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

That also happens too. If even the wrong people like you, you are considered to have the wrong opinion and eliminated, even if you DON'T. The most LGBTBBQ+ tranny can make an awesome game that evil gamers would like and people would find some way to crucify them.

Slight tangent: ironically, I was just looking up Danielle Bunten Berry's Wikipedia page, and I knew Berry was trans, but I had either forgotten this or never knew it:

After a third failed marriage, Bunten, who had until then been living as male, transitioned to living as a woman. Bunten underwent sex reassignment surgery in November 1992 and afterwards kept a lower profile in the games industry. Bunten later regretted having surgery, finding that for her, the drawbacks of surgical transition outweighed the benefits, and wishing she had considered alternative approaches.[16] She joked that the surgery was to improve the video game industry's male/female ratio and aesthetics,[17] but advised others considering a sex change not to proceed unless there was no alternative, and warned them of the cost, saying "Being my 'real self' could have included having a penis and including more femininity in whatever forms made sense. I didn't know that until too late and now I have to make the best of the life I've stumbled into. I just wish I would have tried more options before I jumped off the precipice."[16] After her gender change in the fall of 1992, Bunten stayed out of the video game spotlight, mostly keeping to herself. She felt as though that after becoming a woman she wasn't as good at video game development as she had previously been, stating “So, I’m a little more than three years into my new life role as Ms. Danielle Berry, and her career looks to be somewhat different from old Mr. Dan Bunten’s. For one thing I’m not as good a programmer as he was."[2]

Wrongthink REEEEEEEEeee!

Regardless of being a very talented, prominent, and early example of a successful transwoman in the industry... if Berry hasn't yet been unpersoned by the progtarded Left, it's going to happen soon.

I could never understand how anyone could support Sony seeing how they are always anti-consumer? I guess some people just love getting agendas pushed down their throats.

Just like you'll learn to love getting girldick pushed down your throat unless you're a fucking bigot :tomgirl:

Comparing Smith and Druckerman is unfair. While Smith is definitely quite on the left, he also has integrity as a creator and so he raised Emily without diminishing Corvo. While I find his politics on a personal level annoying, he hasn't allowed them to interfere with his work only used them as an impetus to add to said work. An important difference.

Druckerman is a hack and genuinely a bad person. Where as Smith allows his politics to inform but not control his creativity, Druckerman went "Control? YES PLEASE I'LL TAKE TENTHS!" and allows his ideology to absolutely rule every single aspect of his life.

I'm going to respectfully disagree about Smith. He also has say in hiring a 'writer' from Tumblr based on her theory about the Outsider and she's the one who helped pen Death of the Outsider which was the weakest of the Dishonored stories and if anything? Should have been Daud's story not Billie Lurk's. She had zero to do with the Outsider. And they pulled Daud down a lot to lift her character.

And if you don't think Dishonored 2 had the whiff of social justice we didn't play the same game. It wasn't as bad as some current SJW stuff but it was there. Literal disabled lesbian black woman. (And they don't really clarify where these black people come from either in the previously lilywhite Empire. Race and skin colour doesn't spring up randomly. You can't just have rando single black people in a sea of white people. They have to have an origin.) And almost every new named female character aside from Emily and Doctor Hypatia is bisexual or lesbian. And even then Emily's love interest Wymen is left 'ambiguous' so you can insert whatever gender. (Which backfired in the novel where the writer awkwardly puts "they" as pronoun but slips up in places and puts He sometimes which it clearly was before some big brain decided to change Wymen to be a 'they'. And in my german copy it just uses 'he' because gender neutral pronouns don't exactly fit in german)

Also according to Smith they made visual changes based on Anita's suggestion including removing underwear from being on beds or floors because it was needlessly 'sexual'. I love Dishonored and Dishonored II despite the uninspired story on the latter but that last one was getting social justice lite. It's not over the top, and easy to ignore due to good gameplay and gorgeous art direction but it's got calculated decisions. Prey is also a little hamfisted in that department.

Someone wrote this:

"The only way they could've done this good was advertise it as a sequel with a new cast, get to know abby ,her crew and her backstory but not show anything to hint at Joel and Ellie. Then have some part of the game featuring your crew getting attacked and firsthand see the amount of havoc and causalities THEN show it was Ellie ,Joel and their crew and have a big twist reveal."
This pretty much would be a mgs2 of subverting our expectations.
I disagree.

A MGS2 scenario would have the Abs-meister and her settlement being fucked up by clickers, just a massive "how the fuck are all these things moving like an army wtf" Walking Dead-esque horde.

And then Joel and Ellie show up. You want to bring up cheap drama and have 'em kill each other? Fine! But they'll have to deal with the consequences; that if they put their bullshit issues above survival, they aren't getting out at all.

For it to be like MGS2, it would have to be using its subversion in order to commentate on the nature of video games and the player's interactions with them, along with the heavy implication that everything you are seeing may or may not be real. I don't think TLOU II is doing that, nor does someone like Druckmann actually have any interest in using subversion for anything beyond a cheap shock.

Sony was a repulsive, malevolent caricature of an evil corporation, like the Weyland-Yutani of entertainment, well before wokeshit, which made them somehow even more evil.

People like Druckmann don't advance to be in charge of big organizations or corporations - they get in charge of departments, studios, amd smaller groups, and almost never via merit. In a company as labyrinthine as Sony, Naughty Dog exists as one small part, and as long as it delivers financially, Sony doesn't give a fuck. It's only now that the shit's hitting the fan that Sony is even aware of it, and not through Sony of Japan - it's entirely being covered by the much smaller Sony of America, which is based in California and has a history of enabling shitheads like Druckmann.

The technique pioneered by the scumbags at Electronic Arts. Buy out a successful indy operation, then meddle in its operations and utterly fuck up the franchise they bought, then blame the poor mooks they bought and shut them down.

I know it has been brought up already. But it really is amazing how Capcom kept their noses to the grindstone and gave us some of the best zombie survival horror they've ever put out in the last few years. (The RE2 remake is a legit modern day masterpiece.)

Naughty Dog did the exact opposite. Instead of using the years to learn and grow, they squandered them as they spent the last 7 years in Druckmann's woke fantasy.

They basically had a new Walking Dead franchise on their hands. A full blown premium TV adaptation is in the works, ffs. Millions on the table and a shot at some REAL money. Yet, they're making the same errors the show runners of Walking did. (If not worse mistakes)

Have there been any AAA titles with an openly gay or bisexual male lead? My mind jumped to Prey, but the female PC is canonically bi with the male PC being hetero due to them not changing the gender of your love interest. Then of course the major supporting protag is a quirky Asian lesbian that's totally into gaming and tabletop and and and

I've said it before, but if you want to be progressive with your writing let's see a couple that isn't a pair of young and fresh faced lesbians. I would love to see the mental gymnastics if the romance was a schlubby pair of male neckbeards.

Gay Tony is the best example I can think of, even if you play as the definitely straight Luis.

You could play as a gay Shepard in Mass Effect 3.

After a ton of pressure, with a side character whose romance scene cuts out long before any actual contact, haha.

I will never not laugh at how different that was to the lesbian romances.

And shit, forgot about Gay Tony. Maybe that was for the best.

- That final fight. On reflection a final showdown between the two main characters is fine. I mean, done a million times before, but fine. What's bothering me is just how goddamn manly it all is. Cuckman's whole thing is that main characters and their partners are all women in this, right? Why couldn't they face off like women? Instead they're breaking arms like it's nothing, slamming heads into the ground like they're in the UFC. If you swapped them out with the cast of Red Dead Redemption 2 it would make so much more sense. People are fine with badass women characters in media, have been for decades now. But you never had Ripley or Sarah Connor fucking punching the alien / terminator with their fists like a man. Cuckmann seems to think you can just gender-swap without altering anything else in your story and it's fine. It's totally not. Doesn't make you some kind of bigot to point that out.
This is Druckmann era Naughty Dawg, in Uncharted 4 a physically fit woman (Nadine) can take on Indiana Jones Nathan Drake and his brother.
In Druckmann's mind it doesn't matter that women no matter how hard they train are not as strong or fast as men. What matters more is presenting fiction where they are entirely equal if not better than men. And if you have a problem with this then YOU the player are simply sexist. You're the asshole because you now expect realistic gender disparity in video game entertainment. Druckmann thinks he's breaking ground by having his video game worlds feel as outlandish as say the Charlie's Angels movies.
The difference of course is that Charlie's Angels (2000) is a proudly over the top silly action movie. Where Druckmann wants his games to be taken quite seriously and upheld as forms of art.

As much as I disliked Fallout 4's characters and writing Bethesda has the right answer to all this sjw bullshit. Allow the PC to romance anyone human or not.
Not just that, the gay character in The Last Of Us 1 was handled okay, he mentioned he had a partner and he had a bunch of gay magazines (which were then stolen by Ellie) but that’s all there is to it. No hour long dramatization on how he was marginalized or hunted by le ebil christians

You know, it reminds me of some man who always say:”Well if she wants equality, that means I can beat her as hard as I would beat a men”.

I think you've put your finger on it: Cuckmann, and people like him, don't believe there is a disparity. That's why they're happy to see trannies compete in women's sport. I'll give them points for consistency at least.
