You know what, here's how I would have done the story with fungus, monsters, transexuals, and cultists

Seriously you have a real rogues gallery of what to base enemies off of. I want some unsettling creepy troon motherfuckers. Since society has collapsed nobody can afford things like advanced medical drugs or razors. You now have a bunch of fanatics obsessed with vanity similar to how Bioshock's enemies went from normal people to freaks of nature trying to improve themselves. So these troon motherfuckers still want to be women because since society has collapsed they can now remake it in the image of a woman. So lo and behold the zombie fungus is viewed by them to be a way to complete their transformation and take their withered men bodies and turn them into beautiful forest nymphs who are one with nature. But they fuck up and the few who became zombies lose their minds and other shit so the troon cult leader wants ellie so they can try to have all of the positives of becoming fungus people but without the negatives, basically trying to make a female super solider of the mushroom kingdom and becoming princess Toadstool queen of the new humanity because fungus reproduces asexually so gender will be erased. So they make ellie out to be some sort of messiah and proof that men must be erased and the Troon leader wants to control her as leverage for the cult.

So not only will you have creepy looking and memorable scary bad guys, it would tie into all the elements of the previous game but it will give it a new twist. You now have a bunch of selfish motherfuckers obsessed with vanity and who want Ellie to give them something real shallow in a world where far more serious needs must be met. it's about as good a starting point as any to give everyone involved a drive that will last towards the end. not only that but some good ass body horror and disfigurement.

I don't mean to be that guy here in the thread, but people who rise up from the weird roles given to them into higher positions tends to happen quite often in game development studios because of the multiple hats a lot of these folks have to wear. So maybe the guy had a degree of tangible skills at one point, and credit where credit is due regardless of the circumstances it takes a lot of talent to lead a team of individuals at the triple A level to ship a game. Personally I can't stand this fucking guy and it has nothing to do with this game, more because he's a prime example of the lead designer jackassery that's seen very commonly in the triple A development culture. Lead designers like this usually possess no skills beyond being an ideas man, and it always leads to situations where feature creep and "just make it work" arguments are happening more often than they should. At least Kojima is extremely hands on and values good communication with his colleagues, and nobody as far as I know has anything bad to say about working for him as a member of his team. Druckmann is that guy who comes into the office with this Casey Neistat type vigor to himself where he thinks his ideas and ways to get there are going to shake the world and challenge workflow in a really obtuse way, when in reality he's just thinking super abstractly about basic shit and isn't really opening up to ways that could help his thinking get there more usefully. I'm sure you can see where else this is being applied with, which has been the bulk of this thread's discussion.

Frankly this thread should focus much more on the buffoonery of this guy than the shit tier wrench thrown into the mix, because as bad as the game looks at the moment there's still that glimmer of a chance we aren't seeing the whole picture and its actually executed in an exciting fashion. Whereas with Druckmann, something went terribly sideways when the OG's of Naughty Dog fucked off to Oculus to waste the rest of their time until retirement pouring dogmatic irrelevant principles into VR games nobody is buying because Marky Zuckerberg hates Steam.

I've been trying to find just how much of a % Sony owns from Jak and Daxter because that was co-developed.

Insomniac is now fully owned by Sony and they've been making noise about doing 3d platformers again and not just spiderman. I'd take an insomniac Jak and Daxter,

Sony is going to bring the hammer down real fast on this once the game comes out.

I'm 50% seeing ND getting the axe and 50% seeing Cuckmann getting shown the door and given a steel-toed boot to his ass. Not exactly sure what the outcome will be but whatever happens will be nothing short of amusing, popcorn and pint of beer level amusing.

I think what has triggered people the most is how the game is going to force you to take control of an ostensible villain to fight and possibly kill the hero of the previous game. No doubt Naughty Dog thought they were being clever here. How subversive! This however violates a major tenet of story telling, particularly interactive story telling. You cannot force the viewer to identify with the villain over the hero. Especially after firmly establishing the two.

It would be like if in Return of the Jedi we barely got to see Luke and instead followed palpatine around until the throne room scene and the entire sequence was played out as if Palpatine was the hero all along. And then Palpatine kills luke with the Force Lightning while Vader clapped. People would have been very pissed. It's even worse in a video game as you will essentially force the player to harm or even kill a protagonist they identify as a quasi stand in for themselves.

That is emotional masochism. It's the kind of thing only a person who fundamentally does not understand human emotions would do. The fact that they do this using some poorly shoe horned in tranny is the icing on the cake, and shows yet again that the people who subscribe to this weird progressive cult either dont understand what it means to be human or else give it up as the cost to entry.

Remember Sony isn't above giving away games for free they just gave out Uncharted Nathan Drake Collection(which is 3 full games) and Journey to all PS4 owners(which don't need PS+ to run) and Farming Simulator is one of the new Monthly titles for May for PS+.

They're heavily pushing Ghosts as the Playstation game to have now, I've seen multiple ads on TV for it, which is unusual.

I want to mention something about Ghosts though, it's got a minority lead, it has prominent female characters who are also minorities, it has a gay scribe dude.

It also hasn't been hacked to bits and ruined and it's a solid samurai game and had the GOW people who worked on the combat who were also on the team. there's zero excuses naughty Dog has on just how badly they fucked up.

OT but someone actually should make a terves vs troons game on an old free engine. Have a purty big titted, scantily dressed lezzie rescue her love interest from a troon rape dungeon. Or something. With IRL-based troons and troon quotes. Also, complete what Heartbeat started by having the 41% off price coming to $14.88.

The salt would flow, and probably enough people would buy it to at least compensate teh dev for xir time.
