CDC.gov said:According to the latest CDC COVIDView report, increases in hospitalization rates for COVID-19, which are cumulative, have started to level off. The hospitalization rate is highest among adults 65 and older and similar to what has been seen during a comparable time period during a recent high severity flu season.
Here's an archive link to make sure that blog article doesn't disappear:In re: welfare and money management it's interesting to note Asians kept a dollar for 30 days whereas a dollar only lasts 6 hours in a black man's p pocket. Straight from a black blog, can't find these stats easily:

I think this is the biggest concern people have with "one size fits all" statewide restrictions. Sparse rural areas have neither the demographics nor medical facilities as the big cities. Each has different needs and concerns when it comes to protecting residents and taking care of those that contract COVID-19.No point in telling people to stay in and social distance if your nearest neighbor is on a farm ten miles away from yours.
I think my favorite part of this article is that apparently there is a "Nation of Islam Research Organization".In re: welfare and money management it's interesting to note Asians kept a dollar for 30 days whereas a dollar only lasts 6 hours in a black man's p pocket. Travis AFB (minor) update
The base is alive with the sound of aircraft. I don't know why, but the near-constant sound of choppers and planes has been present on and off today. The base hasn't sounded like this since they were nonstop dumping infected here and who fucking knows what else near the beginning of the stateside hustle. This happening right before normal ops are to resume on base is piquing my curiosity.
Not sure if related, but someone my Wife knows who is Navy was suddenly recalled and his ship deployed this week. The Nimitz. She apparently just did a quick run from Bremerton Naval Shipyard to San Diego in the past few days. Which probably means she just came out of a refit, seemingly in a hurry. Might be nothing, but given the world tensions keep an eye on the Western Pacific. She might be being rushed out to relieve the Roosevelt. Or she might be simply out there to put a heavier US presence near Taiwan than just the USS America. (an LHA not a CVN)
Oh buddy, we are at much more than that.so we're at a million cases and states want to reopen? oh boy...
As far as I am aware, the USA didn't directly fund it, we gave money to an NGO..who then gave it to the Lab (after taking Half a Mil off the top), So we can't really catch hell for it directly. Even if we should.dodgy bat dossier ...

Coronavirus NSW: Dossier lays out case against China bat virus progra…

Quote about previous research at the lab (not this virus, but stuff they were doing previously, so to illustrate the kind of work.) ““To examine the emergence potential (that is, the potential to infect humans) of circulating bat CoVs, we built a chimeric virus encoding a novel, zoonotic CoV spike protein — from the RsSHCO14-CoV sequence that was isolated from Chinese horseshoe bats — in the context of the SARS-CoV mouse-adapted backbone,”
fucking hell. If it turns out that the USA andAustralia were aware and funding this then that’s a major scandal.
There needs to be a serious investigation into how money and approvals were being used. I’m sure it’s ongoing. As far as I am aware, the USA didn't directly fund it, we gave money to an NGO..who then gave it to the Lab (after taking Half a Mil off the top), So we can't really catch hell for it directly. I Don't know, the Podcast I follow that deals in NGO's (one of the dude has a subscription to a website that lets him look up Non-Profit's Donation/tax information) said that the 2019 for hasn't come out yet, the 2018 information is the latest that he foundThere needs to be a serious investigation into how money and approvals were being used. I’m sure it’s ongoing.
I think this is it.
Yeah, of course the fun part will be trying to find where all those bits went. I hate the bureaucracy because of shit like that, can't ever find things. This mentions PREDICT - the program recently disbanded which was looking at emerging disease threats. Bits were rolled into the NIH and others into defence.
The UK's National Health Service is planning to put British doctors and nurses disproportionately in harms way because non-British staff have been disproportionately affected by coronavirus.
Safe to say the 'problem' this is addressing is the result of two main factors:
In the case of #1, it seems a little odd to import British staff into London just so they can get sick and die. In the case of #2, if these foreign aliens can't cut it, why are they in Britain?
- Overrepresentation of non-British healthcare staff in London, which has been hardest hit, commensurate with their overrepresentation in general there
- Foreign institutions like the University of the West Indies may not reach the high standards of training that British ones like the Buck New University do

That would raise the possibility of a leak from another lab - possibly Wuhan's Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, a completely separate institution that is based 300 metres from the Wuhan market initially identified as the source of the virus. The WIV has long been entangled in a web of international tensions over the handling of hazardous pathogens. It was originally the product of a joint venture with France, which has its own BSL-4 laboratory in Lyon.
Michel Barnier, the EU Brexit negotiator who was at that time Jacque Chirac's foreign minister, signed the decree that led to the Wuhan lab's creation in 2004. But French firms got only minor roles in the building of the laboratory, and by the time it opened in 2017 cooperation had collapsed.
Technip, the French company supposed to certify that the building complied with safety standards, refused to do so after pulling out of the project in 2015, and fifty senior French scientists who were meant to move to Wuhan to work there in its first five years of operation never arrived, according to Le Figaro and France Inter, the state broadcaster.
Challenge, a French business magazine, has reported that the project foundered when French military officials refused to supply China with deadly viruses or anti-virus suits in case they were used for biological weapons research.
