CDC.gov said:
According to the latest CDC COVIDView report, increases in hospitalization rates for COVID-19, which are cumulative, have started to level off. The hospitalization rate is highest among adults 65 and older and similar to what has been seen during a comparable time period during a recent high severity flu season.

In re: welfare and money management it's interesting to note Asians kept a dollar for 30 days whereas a dollar only lasts 6 hours in a black man's p pocket. Straight from a black blog, can't find these stats easily:

https://blackmeninamerica.com/updated-how-do-black-people-spend-their-money-3/
Here's an archive link to make sure that blog article doesn't disappear:

No point in telling people to stay in and social distance if your nearest neighbor is on a farm ten miles away from yours.
I think this is the biggest concern people have with "one size fits all" statewide restrictions. Sparse rural areas have neither the demographics nor medical facilities as the big cities. Each has different needs and concerns when it comes to protecting residents and taking care of those that contract COVID-19.

Travis AFB (minor) update

The base is alive with the sound of aircraft. I don't know why, but the near-constant sound of choppers and planes has been present on and off today. The base hasn't sounded like this since they were nonstop dumping infected here and who fucking knows what else near the beginning of the stateside hustle. This happening right before normal ops are to resume on base is piquing my curiosity.

Not sure if related, but someone my Wife knows who is Navy was suddenly recalled and his ship deployed this week. The Nimitz. She apparently just did a quick run from Bremerton Naval Shipyard to San Diego in the past few days. Which probably means she just came out of a refit, seemingly in a hurry. Might be nothing, but given the world tensions keep an eye on the Western Pacific. She might be being rushed out to relieve the Roosevelt. Or she might be simply out there to put a heavier US presence near Taiwan than just the USS America. (an LHA not a CVN)

A local weatherman decided to repost his locally well-known rabbi ranting about how protestors are “Nazi sympathizer gun fetishist miscreants” (Archive) and was fired today by the news station for “repeated ethics violations“ (Archive). Predictably, people are melting down. Let’s check in with our buddy MyLittleBloggie, the former public radio reporter:

(Archive)

Then I went full autismo and dug into some of his recent tweets...

Strange, I know of a tool that could be used to protect yourself from criminals, but you think everyone who owns them are Nazi fetishist miscreants. Oh, and locking the doors always helps, since he admits in the comments that he left the doors unlocked. (Archive)

He retired from public radio after decades and presumably would have retirement funds, but no, he is in his 70s and works for DoorDash now. Seems to be a brilliant guy, since he admittedly leaves his car doors unlocked...as a delivery guy. (Archive)

Finally, he retweeted this edit of Michigan protestors that’s totally not projection at all because he’s an angry old man without enough retirement money who has to work for DoorDash and can’t get his dick up without Viagra. (Archive)

Aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN-68 ) departed Bremerton, Wash., on Monday for its final pre-deployment training event, in what is the Navy’s first real test of its plan to prevent COVID-19 from spreading among deploying crews.

Nimitz will likely remain at sea after completing its Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX) off the coast of San Diego and not return to port ahead of its deployment as a way to reduce the risk of exposing the crew to the COVID-19 virus, USNI News understands.

The crew of Nimitz has been isolated inside the carrier since the beginning of April in anticipation of getting underway this month. Likewise, Carrier Air Wing 17, the command staff of Carrier Strike Group 11 and crews of the planned carrier escorts have been isolated in California ahead of the strike group assembling in San Diego.

so we're at a million cases and states want to reopen? oh boy...
Oh buddy, we are at much more than that.

Thats 1 million confirmed cases.
The real number of cases, including 1) unknown asymptomatic and 2) unknown mild symtpoms (e.g. stayed/staying home) is anywhere from 1.5 - 2x higher at least.

dodgy bat dossier ...

Quote about previous research at the lab (not this virus, but stuff they were doing previously, so to illustrate the kind of work.) ““To examine the emergence potential (that is, the potential to infect humans) of circulating bat CoVs, we built a chimeric virus encoding a novel, zoonotic CoV spike protein — from the RsSHCO14-CoV sequence that was isolated from Chinese horseshoe bats — in the context of the SARS-CoV mouse-adapted backbone,”

fucking hell. If it turns out that the USA andAustralia were aware and funding this then that’s a major scandal.

As far as I am aware, the USA didn't directly fund it, we gave money to an NGO..who then gave it to the Lab (after taking Half a Mil off the top), So we can't really catch hell for it directly. Even if we should.

There needs to be a serious investigation into how money and approvals were being used. I’m sure it’s ongoing.
And a serious talk About gain of function type work in general, and how we collaborate internationally. This is a really big deal.

What did I say about a million pages back? That after SARS, labs would be building libraries of wild caught viruses for research. That they were OPENLY doing gain of function shit is shocking.

I Don't know, the Podcast I follow that deals in NGO's (one of the dude has a subscription to a website that lets him look up Non-Profit's Donation/tax information) said that the 2019 for hasn't come out yet, the 2018 information is the latest that he found

I think this is it.

This mentions PREDICT - the program recently disbanded which was looking at emerging disease threats. Bits were rolled into the NIH and others into defence.
Yeah, of course the fun part will be trying to find where all those bits went. I hate the bureaucracy because of shit like that, can't ever find things.

I decided to take a 5 hour driving tour of LA and see what people were up to on a Friday evening.

- I saw tons of homeless people. Probably over 100. None were wearing masks.
- I'd forgotten how many people live in cobbled-together campers. They're super old and broken down and they drift around the bad parts of the city. I don't think any of them have AC.
- Most Angelinos seemed to be wearing masks as advised. Downtown was quiet but a decent number of joggers and dog walkers were out in the residential areas. Many little stores that sold food were open, but many more were shut up tight. I saw a pop-up store selling cleaning products and read a sign on an empty store notifying the tenants that their lease was being terminated for abandonment. The majority of restaurants seemed to be offering take out.
- I missed the protests at City Hall but I saw a truck with a guillotine on top driving around Santa Monica. The people inside where yelling and seemed upset.
- I swung by the Santa Monica beach. The sand was totally empty, but everyone seemed to be outdoors. The grassy area between the sand and the street was packed with walkers, bikers, homeless, and photographers. There were signs up but I guess people were assuming they only applied to the sand of the beach. Lot of people had scooters from the local "rent a scooter by the minute" service - no idea how they're keeping that hygienic. Further along the beachfront the parks had been fenced off and people were walking in the streets and bike lanes.
- North of the city, the beaches were still empty, but wherever there weren't clear signs the edges of the road were bumper to bumper with cars, and people were sitting in them, or on them and gazing nostalgically off into the ocean.
- Further North yet, surfers were crossing the road heading for the beach.
- At a grocery store in Malibu, people were complaining to each other that our governor was on a power trip. I found hand sanitizer for an ungodly price, but it was the first I've seen in months so I grabbed it. Other stuff, except TP, seemed well stocked, but the quantities were rationed.
- At the beach I met a bunch of teens from North LA partying. They offered me weed and alcohol and told me I was their new best friend.
- There were several more protests in beach towns to the north and south.
- Taco trucks are still doing a brisk business.
- Traffic was medium-light
- Tons of cops everywhere. Tons of "Stay Home = Save Lives: signs.
- Everyone is unusually friendly.

Hey, since my Bats song was a success, it's time for another one, don't you think?
*ahem*
Now this is a story all about how
Life everywhere got flipped, turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute and tell you right now
How the whole world got completely locked down

In Wuhan, China born and raised,
In a lab is where Corona-Chan spent most of her days
Spreading, infecting, infesting animal bodies
Which the scientists sold to their wet market buddies

But Corona-Chan was up to no good,
So she started spreading around the neighborhood,
A couple people died and the CCP got scared,
So they said, "Everyone, wear masks, it can spread through the air!"

So she spread further and further with every day,
Five million vectors escaped and maybe caught her on their way,
Things got out of hand, so no more airplane tickets,
The younglings rejoiced, 'cause boomers were gonna kick it.

One million cases, yo the situation is bad,
Stay at home, eat and quickly grow fat,
So this is what living under quarantine is like?
Hmm, well damn, this might be alright!

But wait, I hear it's a bioweapon, just a flu, all that,
Why destroy the economy? Is everyone mad?
For sure I don't know, we'll see when we get there,
Just remember to wear masks, it can spread through the air!

Well, everyone's protesting, everyone's getting out,
Control freaks order their bugmen: "Report them for some sweet clout!"
I don't trust the experts' models, I live in the "now and here",
All I know is that the chinese have got to disappear!

Well, grandpa's coofing his lungs out as Death draws near,
I turn on the TV and see that everyone's in fear,
Everyone says this plague is "once-in-a-century" rare,
The government says "Wear your masks, it can spread through the air!"

The lockdown keeps extending for times seven or eight,
The only thing bad about staying home is I'm gaining weight,
I gotta check the local Walmart, I hear some hand sanitizer's there,
Better put on my mask, Corona-Chan spreads through the air!

A3Media today running another image cleaning op for China, on channel 4 this time. Already getting called out of social media. Hilariously enough despite being a blatant image cleaning op showing off how "totes doing great" Beijin is the entire shoot had the city continuously covered in a layer of smog that makes Madrid's atmosphere look healthy. And they proudly anounced that beijin has seen an increase of 2000 cars per day since the lockdown was officialy lifted in china... which explains the smog imho. General response by the people that saw it seems to be that we should just roll the tanks into China's frontiers and ensure no petrol can enter the country until they learn to use it responsibly or they're all dead. Won't say my preferred option but I think you can predict it.

Meanwhile right wing social media runing ops PRAISING ISLAMIC COUNTRIES, SPECIALLY SAUDI ARABIA AND EGYPT, FOR THEIR RESPONSE TO CORONA. You know. My blood. It boils. I should mention than our old King Juan Carlos I (no, not "late" king, we have two kings now. Yes it's retarded.) Had a lot of dirty deals with the sauds and the PP has grratly benefited from them. So I'm not surprised they'd try this shit. But it's still disapointing.

But hey let's now get to the spanish left wing. Today was labor day. Which usually sees massified left wing protests. I hate them as much as the feminist protests. Yes spain has huge labor issues, so at least it makes more sense. But they fix nothing and don't propose good alternatives to our model. They're a yearly cocksucking celebration. Anyway. At least they've proven semi rational by making most of the act online, which ironically made them more useful than usual since they had to use actual arguments instead of just being loud, and we only saw one minor protest of unioners going around in cars after having made a deal with the mayor of madrid to be allowed the demonstration. I'd say even that was stupid, because it literally accomplishes nothing and has no real reason to exist. So it takes away from real acts of protest like the ones performed in Michigan, being just a vulgar copy of their strategy with no goal or understanding of why it was done. But... Honestly yet again I find myself looking right and saying "oh hey, they're going even crazier to compensate!" One of the cars was also flying the PCE's banner (republican banner with a giant ass red star where the shield should be), so at least that explains the crazy.

Oh and also I just caught wind of right wing mom groups and left wing catlady groups both sharing that CNN "report" praising female leaders for their stats about corona deaths. Because if there's one thing both spanish sides agree on is femenazism. At least they only worship women and have none of the minorities praising femenazism from other countries. Progress? Either way people are already memeing it because here in spain female led autonomies and provinces seem to be the most affected by far (except catalonia, male led, but most catalonian deaths come from Barcelona, female led) so people are saying if we're gonna use correlation by that logic spanish women suck. Good for them, keeping the crazies in check.

Overall. It's been OK. I get mad at the news but most don't care. And people are memeing the egypt praising and female worship. Plus most don't seem to care about blatantly stupid protests because free expression (and I agree freedom of expression is important and I won't be the one to ban them that's for sure. I just hate that an act that should be done with a goal in mind has been turned into a petty ritual that not only fixes nothing but serves to discredit and normalize protests. If I wanted to ban everything I hate I'd make Hitler look moderate by the end.) So morale is high. If anything reopening seems to be going smooth (today started phase 1 and has done so with little incidents so far), so most are feeling great that spain is quickly recovering and looking at what the gov is doing to fix the economy. Meanwhile the PP keeps dragging its feet and pushing back the moncloa pact. But we all know they'll budge, specially since at this point Vox has past them on the census, so if they don't start proving they do something better they're gonna get curbstomped electorally. Birds are still active around here and I swear the atmosphere is notably better. So I hope we don't screw that one up. I mean... It's just nice. You know. And spain gets a lot from tourism, so this tree elf shit would probably help economically if we manage to stabilize it.

Oh also the project to keep redigging and restoring the roman theater ruins on cadiz seems to be about to be unstuck as the lawsuit that stopped it ends. Fingers crossed, those ruins are amazing and if we can keep expanding the digs and maintaining that shit we're gonna have a great space for historical education and archiving. It's the 2nd biggest colliseum in spain and the oldest one, with large elements from greek times, it's a genuinely incredibly interesting structure and I get why it took so long to clean (by the time they found it there were a buncha houses built on top and people are understandably reticent to leave their homes. Thankfully it seems more and more people keep accepting the deals (since they include a new, better quality home on a better area. That area from Cadiz is extremely poor) and kids leave their parent's houses so by the time the older generation dies they just take the money happily. The lawsuit was about some percieved corruption and mismanagement of the digs themselves, not the houses part. Either way, originally we planned to have almost everything undug by 2020. So here's hoping not only we manage to keep going but we actually go to the next phase and undig this shit. I wanna see the whole structure damnit.

The UK's National Health Service is planning to put British doctors and nurses disproportionately in harms way because non-British staff have been disproportionately affected by coronavirus.
Safe to say the 'problem' this is addressing is the result of two main factors:
  1. Overrepresentation of non-British healthcare staff in London, which has been hardest hit, commensurate with their overrepresentation in general there
  2. Foreign institutions like the University of the West Indies may not reach the high standards of training that British ones like the Buck New University do
In the case of #1, it seems a little odd to import British staff into London just so they can get sick and die. In the case of #2, if these foreign aliens can't cut it, why are they in Britain?

What happened to You Clap For Me Now?

They got the Cough instead of the Clap. So fuck the people who made that gross video in the first place.

All it does is expose that we shouldn't be strip mining the third word for nurses and doctors and that we need to reinforce home ground training again. The EU and globalist idiocy of constantly just skimming the planet for anyone to do the damn job is now miserably failing thanks to idiotic melting pots like London.

Of course, in previous years this was 1) a BNP talking point and 2) Seen by the moronic journalist chattering classes as super duper raciss.

Also, y'know. I suspect the british staff won't get as sick and keel over if they follow the fucking proceedures properly.

Any developments on the rumor that Zhengli Shi has escaped to France and is seeking US asylum?

Googling her name brings up this. Michel Barnier, an enemy of my country, helped China set up the lab in the hope of getting contracts for French companies which the Chinese then predictably stiffed him on. Then there was a viral outbreak which possibly escaped the lab and he got infected (archive). Good job there, buddy!

https://archive.vn/oHUfn

That would raise the possibility of a leak from another lab - possibly Wuhan's Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, a completely separate institution that is based 300 metres from the Wuhan market initially identified as the source of the virus. The WIV has long been entangled in a web of international tensions over the handling of hazardous pathogens. It was originally the product of a joint venture with France, which has its own BSL-4 laboratory in Lyon.

Michel Barnier, the EU Brexit negotiator who was at that time Jacque Chirac's foreign minister, signed the decree that led to the Wuhan lab's creation in 2004. But French firms got only minor roles in the building of the laboratory, and by the time it opened in 2017 cooperation had collapsed.

Technip, the French company supposed to certify that the building complied with safety standards, refused to do so after pulling out of the project in 2015, and fifty senior French scientists who were meant to move to Wuhan to work there in its first five years of operation never arrived, according to Le Figaro and France Inter, the state broadcaster.

Challenge, a French business magazine, has reported that the project foundered when French military officials refused to supply China with deadly viruses or anti-virus suits in case they were used for biological weapons research.
