Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

I'm not seeing anymore Star Wars films, and hearing Taika Waititi's name only enforces my urge to avoid them at all cost. I wouldn't trust that hack to build a Jenga tower without ruining. The man has expressed insufferable glee at the prospect of tearing down established mythology, as his response to upset Thor fans have indicated. And if you want a sample of what his kind of output will be like, remember that his Thor: Love And Thunder movie is coming before his Star Wars Entry. That film will serve as an appetizer for all things to come, mark my words.

I have to wonder, though---why would Disney/LFL announce a new Waititi-led Star Wars Film, and still refrain from giving updates on Rian's Trilogy? That was announced three years ago, and we've heard fuck all about it since.

Since it's Star Wars Day, what's your favorite Star Wars moment?
From the OT: Probably the scene in ROTJ where look tosses his lightsaber away, and defiantly tells the Emperor: "You've failed, your highness. I am a Jedi, like my father before me."
From the PT: This.
From the EU: Either the scene where Luke surprises Mare by giving her his father's lightsaber at the end of Last Command, or the moment in Unifying Force where Jacen becomes one with the Force after realizing the truth behind the visions and voices he had heard throughout the NJO Saga.

I kind of hate how they made him comical and weak outside of Genndy's run tbh. Episode 3 at least he could still be imposing and the only reason Obi didn't die was his style was purely defensive (plus you know, he couldn't or the OT wouldn't make sense) and he had to cheat with a gun to kill him. But Wolf Fucker Filoni's fanfic? Saturday cartoon villain missing most of even that.

Male Feminist is outed as a sex pest and molester. This must be Tuesday.
Until mid season 3 every character suffers from a serious case of idiot ball-ism to move the plot along: Grievous is a bitch, Anakin constantly makes dumb mistakes so Ahsoka has a chance to shine, Jedi forget that the force exist and get punked by the average bounty hunter. Hell, the citadel raid would've failed if Ahsoka hadn't stowaway-ed since they didn't have a plan if the entrance was shut. An average Death Watch in season 3 is able to 1v1 Obi-wan but later both Ahsoka and Obi-wan take them out with ease.
The focus on hitting story beats regardless of how sloppily written the connecting threads are seem to be a patented Filoni-ism since both Rebels and the Ahsoka episodes he co-wrote are chock full of it.

I'd say that mine is the Death Star Trench Run, just an incredible, action-packed scene.
Every moment of the throne room scene from ROTJ and any scene after Anakin turns in ROTS.

You might be being facetious but on the chance this is earnest:

I posted on this before, but Ruin isn't getting a trilogy minus HUGE realignments in their studio direction. The offer was done to give the appearance of Disney backing LTJ. In reality they just shelve his triology until he moves on to something else (which seems likely given the performance of Knives Out).

Never, ever believe shit about a movie or TV show being green lit unless the cameras are rolling and the actors have cashed their sign-on bonus checks. Everything else is smoke and mirrors.

When Vaders mask is slowly removed to reveal the galaxy's most evil and terrifying individual is an old broken and scarred man, seeing this with no knowledge of the PT is earth shattering. The love in his eyes before he dies is incredible to see.

Two others would be when the ion cannon fires and the transport and X-Wings fly by, awesome...and when the battle of Hoth is ongoing and Han and Chewbacca are working on the Falcon and in the background you see the last reserves of the rebel troops running to the trenches through the hangar and realize they are loosing and that is the last of their soldiers (another example of the incredible attention to detail in ESB).

Oh yeah, the Rian Trilogy is dead - if Disney even had a shred of hope that would do anything for their numbers they would be pushing it hard right now, especially today given tomorrow is I believe the stockholders meeting.

Won't that be fun.

Rather than go by series I'll go by installment.

OT
IV:

V: When Luke says "Ben, why didn't you tell me?" I really like the way he delivers that line, he sounds as broken as he should be. The climactic lightsaber battle between Luke and Anakin is also great, but that seems like a basic bitch answer.

VI: Ian McDiarmid doing anything.

PT
I: "NOW THIS IS POD RACING."

II: The battle on Geonosis is the best damn part of the movie, dated effects notwithstanding.

III: Ian McDiarmid doing anything.

EU
I haven't really read any of the books so I'll just go with games I've played that I remember.

Dark Forces: Kyle Katarn murdering Kell dragons with his bare fists.

The Force Unleashed: One of the bosses in the Wii version is a shifty Gungan bounty hunter riding a Basilisk War Droid.

Empire at War: Tyber Zann doing anything.

Kotor: The whole thing.

ST
TFA: TRAITOR. EDIT: That last moment with Han and Kylo was a legitimately good scene, I think. Maybe if it hadn't happened in the first film in the series it would've had a more significant impact and people would probably be less pissed about Han being dead.

TLJ: Any time Rose acts as a mouthpiece for the writer/director is unintentional comedy gold.

Plan IX: I haven't seen Rise of the Skywalker, so my favorite part was going to see 1917 instead.

Edit: I just remembered that I saw Rogue One. I guess that goes to show how memorable it was. Still

Rogue One: The Battle scene in not!Jerusalem was cool.

I like Cad Bane, but I'm screaming the Jedi could easily take him out if they use the force, they always seem to forget it when he's on screen, to just make him look more competent when he isn't much better than other villains in the show, also the plot stupidity revolving around those pirates.

Luke sparing Vader showing his firm belief in Vader being able to be redeemed
I liked this because it also showed Luke refusing to give into the Emperor's goading him into killing his father despite his anger at Vader for mentioning Leia might be convinced to join the Dark Side.

One of the PT moments I like is when the Clone Wars start on Geonosis in Episode II. The separatists are shocked that the republic has amassed such a numerous military force to use against them and Dooku feigns surprise even though he knows full well what's going on and that he and his master have succeeded with their plan to keep both sides pitted against eacher so that they don't figure out they're all being played by the Sith.

I'll give one per movie

IV: The Death Star Run
V: "I am your father" since that twist is really good.
VI: Emperor Shenanigans

I: Darth Maul fight with Duel of the Fates
II: Geonosis Fight
III: Many good moments and don't want to say the Emperor again but I guess Anakin's entire arc in that movie culminating in the Obi Wan vs Anakin fight

VII: TRAITOR
VIII: Mark Hamill's acting but since that isn't a moment within the movie, I guess Snoke's death since it made me laugh
IX: Genuine moment is the Han scene but funniest moment is the "I AM ALL THE JEDI" scene since it was so desperate to be like Endgame that it became hilarious

I mean--at this point, wouldn't it be easier just to come out and announce that the trilogy isn't happening? I don't remember if the Boba Fett film getting shit-canned was an official announcement or not, but the termination of Benioff and Weiss' trilogy was trumpted from the highest mountain (to the giddiness of several TLJ fancucks who seemed to think that cancellation meant that Rian's trilogy had been moved up).

It's been a funeral since 2015 2014.

The Phantom Menace should have been a book/comic/TV series. A prequel to the prequels.

A less cringy version of Attack of the Clones should have been the first movie.

TPM pretty much should have been the prologue of the first movie pretty much. I.e. a group of separatists are attacking either friends of the republic or actual members of it.

EDIT: How was the final episode of the show, for people who have watched it? Did it rehash parts of Episode III, or did it just show things from Ahsoka's perspective?
