In any good post-apocalypse after about 20 odd years you'll get communities and groups forming naturally. Most small at first but others will incorporate more and more for mutual defence and more resources etc. Quite a few may attempt this by force.

The Fireflies are likely a hackneyed mixture of militia groups and "cells" like any good "freedom fighter" org that is limited to geographic areas and the local populace.

Sounds odd, but you get what she means. Fact is, if an artist wants to destroy something there NEEDS to be a point. Killing your story, the narrative, or the characters just for the sake of your own politics isn't good enough. The audience not only needs to believe that this was the only way in which the story can move on, but that it's also consistent with the previous story.

Posts on this thread earlier said it was a given Joel would die - it's just the manner of his death that pisses everyone off. Hell, he probably could've died more painful and brutal than getting a club to his head, but it was who killed him and how it forced where the story would be going that set everyone off.

"Kill your darlings" has long been a trope in writing. The problem is there are ways and means. Sirius' death was wonderfully wonderfully anticlimatic in him just getting yeeted through the arch of death or whatever it was called. It was actually kind of brilliant in that way as it proves that in such combat situations that seemingly random, pointless deaths can have a huge, huge impact and it fucks everyone up for the remainder of the book and into the final climax of the whole story.

Sometimes people just die is an important lesson to teach people.

HZD does a shocking number of things "right" for a game with such obvious woke elements. The world feels very natural as do the civilisations that have sprung up within it and their varying levels of technology which is something a lot of post-apoc games get very wrong.

There's always, historically, that one which develops the one thing that gives them prolongued supremacy, in the game's case it's the Carja thanks to their early establishment of written language which means a lot of knowledge is not slowly lost like the more savage tribes.

Typically, from a writing perspective, that violence is done by an antagonist to demonstrate how cruel they are. Its extremely, EXTREMELY rare for a protagonist to do this without being an anti-hero, ala The Punisher. Villains are the ones typically who do these sorts of acts, but we're supposed to SYMPATHIZE with Abby. It is utterly impossible. It is sincerely impossible to identify her with the actions she does. Not to mention she doesn't even look like a real person. She's not realistic in any sense. Very few men and very, very few women are built like that.

Its Druckman's fetish. The game is a celebration of him and his 'brilliance'. He's an egotistical cunt. Every portion, every bit of this game is a celebration of him. Its his vanity project. The writing, characters and story don't have to make sense. Because it isn't for us. Its for Druckman himself. That's why this is a game that appeals to no one.

And if you think this has a good story, you're a fucking idiot shill fanboy who doesn't understand how to write an elementary school book report. This shit is trash. Its even worse, its around 10k+ calories per day for strongmen. This guy on the left eats 12k calories to maintain his strongman form. On the right is what it looks like:

It is simply impossible to have Abby's muscles without being in a first world society. He looks 'fat' but that's really muscle on top of muscle on top of muscle. You don't see the musculature because its built upon itself. Body builders at their prime are actually physically weak, because the quality of muscle is shit. Power athletes and strongmen have better muscles. Body builders exist simply to show off muscles with as little body fat as possible. Strongmen are building quality musculature. They don't care about showing off.

In any event, that's the physiology. Even with roids, you would need over 10k calories to look like Abby. Which is not only unrealistic, she'd be long dead if she tried to horde that amount of food at the end of the world because someone would just fucking shoot her. "Why are you eating all the food." "Oh, I',m trying avenge my dad, so I need 90% of the base's food supply" *BANG*.

That's the 'realism' this dumb cunt is going for. Nothing about the story is realistic at all.
