I'm a little surprised Jim's actually criticizing Naughty Dog for their crunch attitude if only because he's got a bad habit of being critical about crunch but then ignores it when companies he likes do it. That being said, the crunch is only the tip of the iceberg in this situation, so Jim's video is incomplete at best.
To TLDR, its the kind of shit that totally sounds smart and realistic when you are a tweenager, but the moment you stop to think about any of the shit it claims will/wont work in a hypothetical situation it all rapidly unravels when you realise how 99% of it relies on the assumption that things soldiers have been using for literal centuries or millennia to violently murderfuck eachother in every imaginable situation will magically not work when used against far slower, louder, and dumber enemies, or be so grossly inefficient that random bits of timber and amazon weeb weapons easily outperform them in every situation.
