The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

In my honest opinion, the Spartan IV's issue wasn't that they were overly offensive compared to the Spartan IIs (Master Chief, Blue Team, Jorge, etc.), it was that most of them were too bland. Buck and his squad (not his Halo 5 squad, his original squad he reunites with in Halo: Helljumper) are the exceptions, but they were originally created by Bungie.
I think Spartan IVs were a bad idea in general. Everything about them was worse then previous Spartans from a narrative perspective. Spartans IIs were rare and a dying breed making Master Chief stand out even more and made sense he was humanity's last best hope. Spartans IVs are so numerous they became an entire service branch with some being full time pilots and signal officers doing desk duty while wearing that super expensive power armor. The process to create Spartan IIs was fucked up and expensive and really set up a divide between them and normal people while Spartans IVs had no real downsides and recruited already established veterans so they were just normal adjusted people but better. I can't really fathom a time that the UNSC will be under real threat now that they have a bunch of easily replaceable Master Chiefs.

I think they missed the point of why Buck and the ODSTs were cool. They were cool because for all their feats and daring they were still just frail humans punching above their weight. I expect Spartans to be unstoppable bad asses and never die unlike an ODST who probably will.

I didn't play Halo 5 so maybe I'm out of date on how the SpartansIVs work.

Absolutely, the Spartan IVs were utilized poorly. The original idea for them, if I were to guess, was to go with the theme of the UNSC, as well as humanity, "moving on" from the Master Chief's legacy. Captain Del Rio, the douche who kept yelling at Cortana and MC during Halo 4 even called him obsolete if I remember correctly. [EDIT] He said "aging Spartan."

The problem is that once that purpose was served, there weren't any interesting stories done with the Spartan IVs. I would love to see that rectified in Halo: Infinite; also, it could help that the art direction for Infinite seems to be a lot better, especially the armor. Until Halo Wars 2, 343i's art style did not do the Spartans any favors.

As far as the ODSTs are concerned, they became irrelevant as far as 343i is concerned due to the creation of the Spartan IVs. It is unfortunate.

So a bunch of memorabilia of the character they murder for no fucking reason at all?

Why not have a special edition for the she-hulk roided out troon? I guess they know everyone hates that piece of shit.

No, the one who gets beaten until they have brain damage and left to raise her girlfriend's son.

Thats not even the main problem, you are paying an extra 60 bucks for a fucking backpack

You know, this isn't the first time a game has tied itself in a knot to make the player feel bad about something they did in a previous game.

One mission in GTA IV has Niko chasing down and killing a couple of bikers on the orders of a mobster. Then the DLC expansion The Lost and Damned comes along and reveals that one of the bikers you killed was Jim Fitzgerald, one of Johnny's good friends and a major character in the DLC. As TV Tropes put it "To Johnny, Jim was the closest of friends. To Niko Bellic, Jim was just a nameless kill among many nameless kills." There's just one tiny problem.

This is Jim.

These are the guys you kill in that mission. The guy on the left is supposed to be Jim.

Yeah, totally the same person.

How about a GTA case that actually mirrors the one in tlou2?
Johnny Klebitz getting curbstomped because he called Trevor a motherfucker. Everything Johnny went through in The Lost and Damned, up to and including Billy Gray's betrayal, and getting the gang away from drugs and senseless violence, and surviving to the very end of the whole diamond fiasco that kickstarted a huge portion of IV's plot... only to somehow end up on the other side of the country in some no name trailerpark getting addicted to meth while Ashley cheats on him for the umpteenth time.

Then his two best friends are killed literally 10 minutes later.

A case of a previously well liked character adored by the community, only to get unceremoniously killed for no discernibly good reason.

Is it made out of canvas or nylon?
Hold it, I do not think that's a full size backpack.

Everything in there is to scale, because I bought the GOW edition with the statue and shit and they make sure everything is sized right. Those huge Sony boxes are all the same dimensions, that bacpack is maybe 15 inches tall at most.

You're looking at a backpack that might be too small for a kidnergardender. This isn't something you would take for hiking or to store anything large. It's entirely for cosplay purposes.

You could buy a large jansport backpack with a rubber bottom for around 15-25 bucks and it would be much bigger in volume.

Cuntman waited until Ellie was old enough to fulfill his lesbian fetish fantasy, and then dropped her for Abby so he could fulfill his MtF on Female violence fetish fantasy.

Tragic.
People think TLoU2 is proof enough of his lesbian fetish, but y’all are also forgetting about Uncharted: Lost Legacy. It was a fun ride with great art design and Chloe was entertaining. Nadine got some much needed development too though she still remains somewhat boring.

Now, the game etablished the two as friends by the end, not lovers, but take a quick look at Drukmann‘s twitter at the time and you‘d see copious amounts of fan art shipping the two, including a drawing of them getting married.
Also, THIS was Naughty Dog’s annual Christmas card for 2017.

It’s so transparent it‘s despicable. (And doesn’t fit Chloe’s character, but we all know how Druckmann feels about preserving Amy’s vision...)
He can’t help but to make like every female character he writes into a lesbian.

I just want healthy female friendships in video games again, damnit

It the super collectors edition, retail price $229.99:
There's a reason collector editions of games became a joke before the last console gen even ended. Sure there were some pretty fucking cool ones. There was the time MW2's limited edition had working night vision goggles, there were plenty of interesting soundtracks and artbooks, and who remembers how cool something like the Halo 3 bust was when that was new? But there were lots of shitty trinkets included with many of these special editions especially later on down the line.

I don't think the backpack is going to be much better than a cheap AliExpress one or something from one of those "your brand here" services. It's going to be one of those cheap low quality ones that falls apart in use most likely. For the price of this edition you could run to Staples or something and get yourself a nice backpack or two and have money left over for better games, or even wait and hit the stores when "Back To School" season ends and backpacks go on clearance. Maybe it'll be a nice quality backpack given the price, but video game special editions have become notorious for trinkets.

My dude, my man, my compadre, you can thank Bungie for adding in all of the lore that made Halo great. Everything after Reach wasn't by them. That was by 343, directly under Microsoft. It's telling, because everything Bungie writes has a sprinkling of sheer horror once you start looking deeper. Everything had a mystical feel to it while retaining its sci-fi roots. They blended faith, technology and cosmic horror into a seamless blend, and more than once to boot. If you have time, I suggest looking into Marathon and its 2 sequels, Durandal and Infinity. If you don't end up getting a terrible case of the spine tingles after playing Marathon, I'll eat 1 whole dollar.

He can’t help but to make like every female chatter he writes into a lesbian.
So this is what happens when Dobson gets his grubby hands on making a videogame...

I will take absolutely no ownership of TruthSeekingDaimon's explosive retardation but I do agree in a broad sense...I dislike the trend of dumpy character designs in games (outright resent it when you can tell they're doing it to be woke) and I think Aloy looks just terrible (concept designs were so much better), RE3 remake jill is dull imo, the woman they're modeling for her is perfectly attractive but Voth was a million times better and more iconic for the character and the outfit is very boring compared to her original costume...and I'm really not a fan of the skort for the included classic costume. Not even a coomer for Jill I swear, it's all just way less cool looking.

On the other hand, I think remake Leon and Ada are absolutely fantastic. You win some you lose some.

For facial scanning and mocap it's entirely dependent on what system they use. You can have things fuck with the quality if the environment you're in gives you too much interference (i.e. areas like Manhatten) which are mostly artificial and have metal everywhere.

There are some general weird ass quirks with how the data is recorded. There's also so much that cleanup artists can do.
