I'd like to point out he got this PO Box after the swatting and if he had the basic foresight or talked to someone, it would be some distance. Given the location it could even be the next state over but both his IGG and KS state Portsmouth and his local comic shop is STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN, 109 Gosling Road, Newington, NH , AKA ~5kn from central Portsmouth. Cummings really needs to do some basic research, although I do look forward to him going "Ha none of these small towns on the otherside of the bay to Pete have a record!". I don't know how to get in touch with the correct authority/whatever. Trivia he used to live in Boston.

I've watched it twice and I keep zoning out but the jist is "show us the police report/stream or you lying", "I checked the (presumably wrong) local papers and police and found nothing" and "why didn't he tard cum it for all what it is worth?". Does anyone know if local papers report all SWATtings? He also mentions concerned citizens, I had a quick google and all I found was a child care advocacy service and random facebook groups.

According to the above Bounding into Comics article there was an eye witness who was streaming with Peter at the time, 1st Print Comics co-owner David Inguagiato. His entire account is continued in a separate article below.

Peter states in the video he won't be releasing the livestream footage since it is considered evidence for a potential criminal trial.

Cummings appeared to believe Simeti back in 2019, commenting on the video.

The Comicbook Hut deleted his old channel and has since made a new one, I did a cursory scroll through the comments but could find nothing from him so I assume if he posted comments they were deleted with his old account.

If you google Peter Simeti swatted you get pages of results , I've posted a fair few but there is still plenty more. I think they all so far just repeat the same thing and I've tried to provide sources that at least give some relatively unique information from different perspectives. If anyone has the time to dig through all the articles be my guest but at this point in time I'm inclined to give Peter the benefit of the doubt. He has an eye witness (a guest on stream) who at least heard the exchange, I'm sure there must have been others viewing the stream. In order to pull off some deception Peter would have had to have had two close friends masquerade as police officers and provide that conversation, which seems a little exceptional even for Comicsgate.

Nah. Cecil is somebody EVS can rely on a a co-host that won't steal his thunder. Plus, I get the impression his campaign will be fulfilled fast and in a relyable way. For all his Cecil personallity and drunkeness, Cecil actually sounds the smartest of the bunch and I guess the rest of the crew will make sure the project is fulfilled. They can't afford not to.

EVS clarified in follow-up tweets that his new edict applies to everyone including regulars like Cecil. Even Fraga. He will no longer promote anyone unless they have successfully fulfilled a campaign.

Just a guess but I wonder if he hasn't gotten more info about Red Rooster plans and this is preemptive damage control.

Anyone here enjoy ComicTropes? His a youtuber that does in depth reviews and analysis on certain comics, artists and writers who's subscriber base has kinda blown up lately. I watch a lot of his streams after they air and noticed one that escaped our attention, in the chat there will be several Comicsgaters trying to get his attention but he normally does very well at ignoring them. In this stream he finally addresses the Comicsgate question:

It all was triggered by an argument developing in chat between users over Sean Gordon Murphy and whether or not he was joining CG. One user points out that Chris (Comicstropes) has always been neutral to Comicsgate, which I guess backed him into a corner to finally address it.

The users continued to debate whether or not Sean was joining Comicsgate, which Chris seemed to acknowledge but not want to take any part in.

He was later asked what he thought about crowdfunding in general and provided some decent points for why he doesn't really support it.

Obviously being upset that Chris didn't agree with him, the Comicsgater doubled down in trying to defend his cultish movement. Chris once again reaffirms his stance with a pretty logical rebuttal.

If you don't like it, don't support it.

I was more referring to his point about "if you don't like it, don't support it." He was asked in the same stream whether he was going to review New Warriors (Safespace and Snowflake) or Gotham High and he said he wouldn't unless they were incredibly good or incredibly bad. If you watch his Comic Trope video's he usually showcases comics that he really enjoys or comics that are so terrible they are interesting to talk about, similar to Comicsgate itself. As for Comicsgate and politics it began with them being against "identity politics in comics" to them denouncing any politics in comics at all, the scrutiny Tim Lim faced is proof of that despite his books being political satire.

In other Comicsgate news, Dan Fraga appeared on Dan Shahin's channel as a stand in for EVS who missed the interview due to a scheduling issue. Having Dan Fraga in lieu of Ethan probably worked out in Comicsgate's favor since Dan actually did a pretty good job at making CG seem less exceptional than it actually is.

Comicsgate should probably put Fraga in charge of all public appearances from now on, he handled himself quite well.

TUG since leaving Comicsgate, quickly remembered he actually needs them to fund his crappy sequel to The Littlest Umbrella so has since rejoined and offered to host smaller creators to spotlight their books. This is clearly typical TUG laying the groundwork for his own promotion by others when he launches his book. Taking TUG up on his offer of "ANY creator" was twitter troll and perpetual black sheep Jon Del Arroz, who I think was just trolling TUG about his offer to host "ANY creator."

In a turnabout way TUG rather magnanimously actually ended up hosting Jon for his five minutes, surprising me and probably everyone else who was paying attention. JDA clipped and uploaded his segment to his channel and described the interview as "cordial."

This cordial relationship was quickly cut short as TUG later became aware that Jon was apart of the Simeti Swatting Truther movement along with Capn Cummings and The Comicbook Hut.

That is about everything, there has been no further developments with the Simeti Swatting theory and its been relatively quiet.

Jawbreakers Grand Bizarre seems to be lagging behind previous campaigns as backerkit has it trending for a reasonable (yet paltry by comparison) $127.880. Whether the virus has closed wallets or everybody blew their cash on Ethans $200 four comics and a cardboard box perk, it seems like the campaign is struggling a little.
