Furry Fandom and Drama General

Fair point. It is an original work and furries need to get over it. I dont understand why people are up in arms about it
I’m guessing it’s a reflex response to being exposed on how samey and mass-produced their artwork is. If furry shit didn’t all look the same, bots like this would probably have a much more difficult time generating their own and would probably need a much larger image set to be properly taught. The appropriate response to a bot like this is to try making some art that’s actually unique and interesting; the shit that these people make is almost as formulaic as sweatshop clothing.

Lolcalf Ramune is still going after TFDNE and has now doxed herself to the creator by sending a DMCA (to Cloudflare, who will do nothing).

Congratulations, she doxed herself.

The address happens to be a virtual office but the site itself is pretty crazy. They also have a WikiFur page.
Furry Broadcasting Network is an internet radio hub that proudly hosts the best music produced among the furry fandom. Originally founded as Mane Tech Studios in 2015, that mainly focused on the Brony fandom and its music.

I don't see her on the staff page so I wonder what her relationship is to this company or if she's trying to false flag.

I doubt they're related at all. she just wanted to make up a fake company name to make her DMCA seem more legitimate

Yeah this looks like a "my dad works at Nintendo" situation. I wonder if the WBC FBC can't spank her ass with a cease and desist for attempting to use their name for litigation or not.

I don't disagree. I'm curious why she used that company because it smells like something someone would do to false flag said business.

What I always found weird about fursonas is that most people just use a weird color palate and call it a day. Smart ones will at least use a palate with colors that compliment each other. In my opinion the real fun of character design in art is showing personality through physical features and other design concepts be it attire or other things. It can have a simple design and have loads of personality if you know what you’re doing. Most furries just sort of go for the happy and cute look, so their sonas reflecting that tend to be homogenous. You gotta convey personality through design. I get that you’re not supposed to judge books by their covers but the fun of character design is conveying a personality through visuals. Idk, that’s at least what I find fun about it.

Fursonas that are literally just "ColorAnimal" are a sign that someone joined the fandom solely because every other community rejected them, and they're trying desperately to fit in with furries. Those people are extremely common because anybody with any sense and/or ability to make friends outside of the fandom quickly leaves.

The ones who get butthurt over the AI probably get mad at "pose theft" or other nonsense.

Personality and story are two major elements that are rare in furry from what I've seen. Characters are often 1-note porn fodder that quit shelved after a year.

A clown is a clown unless they have a cool backstory to give me a reason to care.

It's funny - The oldschool 70s-80s zines have a lot of story and personality to them, though the erotica element is still centre piece most of the time, it at least gives the characters a setting and purpose. They also tended to be natural species with natural colourations/markings, so very plain characters yet still easily distinguishable from others in their settings due to the pushing for uniqueness elsewhere.
There's a lot more to character design than colours, but that's usually where furs stick to. Shape language and working by silhouettes are fun ways to try and branch out to a different design.

This is something I've noticed. Lots of furries who rack up characters tend to do just that with them, or maybe use them to get some RP partners online. I've even seen more interesting characters get used for just porn fodder anyhow. But then again how many furries these days actually come up with anything story wise?

I mean, have you played Major/Minor? If so, do you REALLY want furries to try to write anything.
I remember a friend gifting me that thing to show me how bad it was and everything about it was hilariously awful. The writing and character designs were atrocious but the behind the scenes drama is something I found particularly interesting. I heard stories about character theft and them deleting any sort of criticism from the Steam pages. I never managed to get too much info but it probably has some interesting drama to it if someone wanted to dig for it, albeit old.

Its developer has a thread. I have not looked much at it other than to note that the links in the OP are broken, though I imagine someone in the thread has likely done a write-up on the game. If they have not, feel free to take one for the team.

If I recall, that game was pretty much just a Persona ripoff which was centered around the own makers fursona. Ego boosting in game form
Not to say furs can't make nice games, but most of them even when clean and wonderfully crafted end up going through the seven hells of R34 and only get known for the porn after a while.

The Furry Broadcast thing has vintage 2017 Furry Raiders drama attached to it.

It was started by some brony calling himself Shadowpony or ShadowLeRawr. He joined the Furry Raiders and promised to use his nonexistent fan base to help them promote a secretly Raiders run furry convention. It would be a big gay trap where everyone would go have a big gay party, and after it was done, they would announce the Raiders ran it, winning a standing ovation while Uncle Kage bowed down to blow them for it.

Don't blow the secret!

Well, that got around so they said fuck it and went with it.

It got a predictably withering response, so they moved on to shitting diapers and calling it a community.
