Social Justice Warriors - Now With Less Feminism Sperging

Much like Motion Twin, the “anarcho-syndicalist” developer behind Dead Cells, Pixel Pushers Union 512 was established as a worker-owned cooperative. Decisions within the small team are made by committee, bonuses are divided equally, and if at some point the studio pulls in enough revenue to provide full-time jobs, everyone will be paid the same wage.

How much you wanna bet they hire include a couple of troons in the "worker cooperative" and the whole thing explodes into Twitter drama, calls for cancelling, and no game. Sounds like they've been spared this fate thus far simply because there's no money for the usual sort to try and grab.

The funniest part about that is that Ethnic Cleansing is considered one of the worst video games of all time, right alongside Superman 64, Mass Effect Andromeda, Custer's Revenge, the E.T. game, and John Romero's infamous Daikatana.

Putting the Neo-Nazi elements aside, the game is just poorly designed with bad gameplay and bad graphics.

I suppose Tonight We Riot is likely going to end up as Ethnic Cleansing's left-wing equivalent by the end of this.

In fact, out of all those games you listed, it would score BELOW all of them EXCEPT Custer's Revenge.... which if you kids at home these days didn't know, was Atari 2600 Porn...

Yeah, the only thing to come along in vidya and be WORSE than Ethnic Cleansing, was 8-bit titties..... think about that.

This is the game that was in the article, homie. Good to know there's a steam page for it, curious about the reviews.

Honestly I'm impressed they finished a game considering how many projects sjws tend to talk and drop. Good on them for that. That president Trump parody they have going on still makes me laugh though.

Edit: we need the glorious picture of the all powerful god emperor blumph here againView attachment 1287923
Ah, guess I missed that article. The reviews are very positive last I checked, and even though most were jerking off how it smashes capitalism, I didn't see anyone complain about the gameplay and from the trailer it looks pretty well made and enjoyable. The only complaint I saw a few times was the price tag, which is definitely way too high. Even ignoring the irony of the capitalism smashing, the reviews state that it's made up of 4 worlds of 6 stages and can be completed in less than 3 hours. I'd say it shouldn't be on sale for any more than 10 bucks.

Although I forgot to include the description and journalist reviews, make of these what you will.

That Not-Trump is definitely something else, it looks like something Ben Garrison would draw. Trump isn't even hard to draw caricatures of so I'm not sure why they made him look like an aryan demigod.

Easy: they want to punch a Nazi, so the enemy leader has to be a big honkin' blue-eyed blonde lantern-jawed Aryan demigod.

same energy :story:

These are the same devs who made Dead Cells, so they have made quality in the past at least. They might be trying to hitch up the price because they feel like they have better name brand recognition now, a capitalist ploy 🤔Disregard that I suck cocks, they're just a new studio overcharging for a 3 hour game based on no merit other than them begging for cash:story:

You know, it’s kind of sad. A side scrolling beat em up with Pikmin elements already sounds fun enough. You really don’t gain much by making it overtly political; take out the commie shit and you’d have game that’d be remembered for all the right reasons, rather than being vaguely recalled as a punchline.
It is pretty funny how the review is straight up begging for your money comrade.

Nope, wrong studio. The article says that Much like Motion Twin, the “anarcho-syndicalist” developer behind Dead Cells, Pixel Pushers Union 512 was established as a worker-owned cooperative. They're not the same studio, they just use a similar management philosophy.

That system works just fine for small projects. That's how most indie games are made, even if they don't use the pretentious labels: the entire group has input on the game and a financial stake on it.

So even by indie game standards, these groups are nothing special, they just use these labels to attract journos and impressionable buyers.

I forgot one important bit at the end there: they all have a financial stake on the project.

But yeah. It's no big deal. The biggest differences from what you'd normally expect from a standard dev team are that everybody is paid the same no matter their position, and in theory the project doesn't have a Lead Developer. There may be someone with the title for PR purposes, but ideally all the aspects of the project are discussed by the entire team and voted on.

I say ideally, because as with basically every "anarchist" system ever a hierarchy quickly forms and someone's opinion ends up swaying the others' and they take unofficial lead of the project. It's usually not a problem with very small teams, but as things go larger the system breaks down. Take Dead Cells' developer, for example (emphasis mine):

Motion Twin is run as an anarcho-syndicalist workers cooperative with equal salary and decision-making power between its members. As part of the legal model, Motion Twin is required to pass a set percentage of its profits to its workers. In August 2019, Motion Twin spun off a new studio, Evil Empire, composed of Dead Cells developers who wanted to continue its development while Motion Twin moved to a new project. Evil Empire is run by Motion Twin's former head of marketing and is not run as a cooperative, particularly because the company wanted to scale beyond ten employees. Motion Twin continues to participate in Dead Cells decisions.

They know that management style works fine for small projects, but if they want to bring in more people they need to set up a proper corporate structure.

Whoops, thank you. I can't read.

That makes their 15$ price tag even sillier - there's not even justification for it, just "please give us money". :story:

Since we're talking about SJWs and video games, my friend sent me this link yesterday. At first I thought it might be a standard evil regime overthrowing game, but then I clicked the link and found this.

Looks like a palette swap of Syndrome, which I will admit is kind of cool. The tagline of "To build a better society we have to destroy the old one first." is pretty funny too. It's pretty much what you expect, plenty of muh capitalism and muh oppression.

In all honesty the game doesn't look too bad gameplay and art wise, it kind of reminds me of old Nitrome flash games, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't laugh my ass off when I first read the page. The reviews are pretty great too.

Oh yeah and they're selling it for 15USD. Truly a great critique of capitalism.
Why don't the developers all just go live on a commune if they hate capitalism so much instead of making an entire game about it and charging fifteen dollars?

Also how there’s no blue collar workers in this screenshots.
Apparently their definition of the working class involves things like Starbucks cashiers and Uber drivers, which is...interesting to say the least.
"I wasn't too successful in that conversation, mainly because my own explanation of the underlying messaging didn't land with this student's own headspace." Was she even talking human?
This person must suck at teaching if this is how they talk to their students.

Well, to be fair to the game and devs I think lumberjacks were in the forest stage. Someone in the reviews said that if you beat the cops but not the lumberjacks they join your side. So, there's that I guess.

I wouldn't call working at Starbucks or Uber a high class job. Not much in common with someone who works at a office. Working class varies depending on the location.

So many words to say nothing of substance. And the left still can’t meme.

Looking back at this (attempted) meme, I'm stunned by the lack of awareness shown by whatever leftist was responsible for it, because the herds of college students screeching about their "lived experiences", and how oppressed minorities are in the western world... yeah, they haven't the foggiest clue what oppression actually looks like.

Considering BreadTube describes itself as "... making high-quality content that goes against the prevailing winds of the internet", the answer is no. How is a socialist echo chamber that despises any suggestion of personal responsibility and effort "... against the prevailing winds of the internet", when the vast majority of people on social media are lazy, irresponsible socialists that despise dissent?

Edit - I made the mistake of going down the rabbit hole -

HBomberGoof has flashy videos, since when? And he babbles about social justice, which is a perfect example of being uninformed. But I'm definitely laughing at how suddenly these kinds of shitheads are complaining that "people making money on patreon for being youtubers should make regular content!" or "edited content", while probably being the same people that gave Anita a wave on finishing her crowdfunded stuff, or that ignore the huge money ChapoTraphouse makes for unedited livestreams.
