The blue checkmark just means you're politically connected and Twitter approves of you.

They proved this when they took away Milo's checkmark, as if this somehow meant that he was no longer actually Milo.

It's a punishment system where they express their political approval of your viewpoints, not an actually useful thing for verifying identities.

It's no secret that Twitter's "Help & Safety" (or whatever that's called) is chock-full of troons, and they often don't bother enforcing the rules against violations that target "enemies" of their agenda unless they are forced to. Maybe that's not what is happening here, since it isn't much of a big deal but on other hand, I'm sure no KFer's would be surprised if it were. He does still have his check mark.

I would be interested to know whether complaints by and against blue checks are handled by the same pajeets that handle everyone else's. If I were to guess, I think that once the complaints are escalated they would be dealt with differently. Certain blue checks are probably assigned a dedicated person they can contact directly across different tickets (much like what's suspected with YT).

Here is something interesting I found while trying to research if anyone knows how many active Twitter accounts actually have check marks. According to Twitter they are now going to use the verification to signify authoritativeness in response to COVID.

Youtubers have tried to change their names as punishments when they lose bets and it comes up as being unable to change the name unless you want to lose verification, it's an automatic thing.

So they're verifying hundreds of paid Chinese shills? Money well wasted I guess. I'll stick to Lancet.

I can't bring myself to hate Glinner. Not even back when he was reeeeeing about goobergrape. Lots of people did that shit. He wrote some funny shit, he's currently dunking on troons, and I think he's kind of based.

I agree. He says funny shit (even now) and it's not easy to hate someone that makes you laugh, but I think I can manage to dig up a bit at least. I didn't pay much attention to GG until sometime around the end of 2015 when most people agree that it was already over, but I have seen enough of his Social Media to know that he's a hypocritical dick.

There's a few threads here with people I actually do hate, Graham is just someone who's on a shitty trajectory that is fun to watch. I don't hate him, I just need my juicy, juicy hit of spite fuelled dopamine.

For me, the fundemental two factors are
  • the sheer jawdropping hypocrisy of his turn from well paid ultra edgelord to shrieking puritanical scold pushing censorship and punishment for anything he deemed offensive
  • how much he revelled in using woke schtick as a pretext to be as punitive and vindictive as he could to everyone he felt he had a social licence to treat like shit
While there have been vast numbers of comedians and creative types who have embraced the first factor, from Sacha Baron Cohen turning into the official posterchild for censorship to Frankie Boyle going full tankie to pretty much the entirity of late night comedy in burgerland going full corporate woke after decades of being as edgy as they could, there have been only a few whom have been personally dedicated to acting like smirking little stasi snitches at every chance they got.

Still, I can hardly say that he has not had one hell of a cosmic reward these past few years.

He has gone from publicly fawned over woke kingpin of uk comedy land with an upcoming and no doubt lucrative US remake of the IT crowd and a sequel to Father Ted to boot, to a universally loathed joke whose media friends have all disowned him, whose upcoming projects have been put forever on ice, who now has a criminal record due to the stupid authoritarian laws he was aggressively pushing, and whose wife may now have left him.

Oh and his testicle rotted off just to put the cherry on this karmic sundae.

What a dumb-ass. Sometimes it's hard to understand how he had enough social awareness to be a widely loved and mainstream comedian. I guess feminists weren't his target audience, but calling 60-year-old grandma Dolly's grill "fucked up" definitely made me laugh!

You'd think he would spend the three seconds to click through Shoe's Twitter and see that she makes video's before deciding she's just some fat guy larping as a chick between slugs of Mountain Dew Code Red.

It's even funnier that what he's talking about there are chat logs that show a prominent anti-GG troon saying things that made it pretty clear that they were a paedophile, including him talking about having the hots for his 8 year old cousin and posting pics of said cousin.

When this news first came out, the anti-GG crowd claimed that the logs were fake, but then the accused, Nicholas "Sarah" Nyberg, admitted that the logs were real, but went with a very bizarre "I was just pretending to be a paedo!" defence.

Nobody "smeared" Nyberg as a paedo. They literally admitted to being one, but when exposed, tried to play it off as "it was all just a joke!" which Glinner bought into entirely and uncritically.
