Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

the actual disease will be pretty much like last time. Countries that haven’t had many cases and locked down like nz will probably get whacked.
the civil effects will be the thing to watch for. Of the response to a few cases is to lockdown immediately we are fucked. Because it’ll mean the precedent is set.

I think 0.1 is a bit low. Maybe in some areas that have a Specific strain. My guess is 0.4

Not north of the wall. The sun isn’t strong enough here for a good part of the year. Loads of Brits are
deficient in vitamin D. If you live somewhere the sun shines then 15m a day on arms and face is enough.
If you’re obese you will almost certainly be deficient in the UK. Ditto if you’re dark skinned or covered up. We actually see cases of rickets these days in areas where the women are covered. Madness.

Lethality will be driven mostly by the residences. So it's gonna wind up being extremely different by country based on how they handle them. As for rickets. That's just natural sellection at that point. What kinda idiot covers up in england?! Oh yeah... muslims.

The Dems have made voting IDs a form of racism. We're legally not allowed to have that in some places.

Well then do your part by voting Trump. And get him to listen!

Vitamin D deficiency is however fairly common above the 37th parallel. It's probably worth supplementing in that case, especially if you're not consuming any foods that have been fortified with it.
above the 37? thats southern Spain... we men of the west are able to get our vitamin D even at the 55th as long as its not foggy.

So we ran out of miners to test, meaning we should see a sudden drop in new numbers very soon. I expect we'll be down to 100-150 cases daily and slowly dropping. Meanwhile out of over 14000 examined miners, roughly 1700 had positive results. I don't know if that's a lot. How well do viruses spread in mines?

The weekend will be spent double-checking everyone who came up negative during this week's screening. They need to get back to work, having mines shut down hurts.

It's more of a problem for people over 50, particularly during the winter months. You'd probably be surprised how many of your fellow countrymen don't get enough vitamin D. Based off the studies I looked at, around half of people in Germany have insufficient or deficient amounts of vitamin D in the winter. So, whether they're able to do so or not, they don't seem to be doing it, anyway.

Are they Germans or "Tan Germans" though?

As soon as I saw how that's done I knew there's no way I would ever consent to something like that and would just have to wait until fast blood tests are available, assuming I ever need to get tested at all.

I can guarantee there's a large percentage of the population who've had the ability to get tested and haven't for the same reason.
A little while ago there was some talk about oral swabs being more accurate than the brain jab, but that disappeared pretty quickly.

I haven't been to Germany (and they don't keep race data, so there's no easy way to know that I can find), but I'm gonna guess the population of non-whites is substantially below half. Even if all of them were vitamin D insufficient, it would still probably mean that millions of white Germans are as well.

I was talking to my father, he was complaining that he had to visit in laws yesterday, and that his wife is "over the lockdown".

I laughed, and told him EVERYONE is. The workers at grocery stores and Lowes arent wearing masks half the time unless in direct view of a supervisor. We received an email that "ALL employees MUST WEAR MASKS AND GLOVES (of course administration isnt SUPPLYING those masks...) or there will be DISCIPLINARY ACTION". Conveniently the management making these decisions are still working from home.

Well most of us were not wearing the masks, if we were it was around our chins, NOBODY was wearing gloves. Big crowds at the park ripping down the police tape. Waiting line at restaurants. People have realized that nobody was wearing masks through march or april yet somehow most are still fine, and are OVER IT. Local media reporting that most states still have a mere fraction of recommended testing, and without the numbers the governments are loosing control of the narrative. The protests online and IRL have lead to the announcement of gyms and childcare centers opening at the end of the month, something that wasnt supposed to happen until july at the earliest.

The real death numbers being under 0.5% are being quoted by normal people on the street. The fear of the disease is turning into anger at being stuck at home. Blue states are going to end up burnt to the ground if they try to keep this up.

Can I just say that, when I first heard about these protests, I thought it was selfish people who couldn't put up with staying home for the good of everyone, but as more and more information is coming to light and these protests are growing that I am really proud to be an American?

Veganes, vegetarians,Karens and elderly in nursing homes... German winter food is pretty rich on vitamin D. fatty fish, eggs, liver, etc.

I feel you. I was worried that the American spirit has been successfully soy'd out of existence. People blatantly violating the stay at home orders and protesting the governments overreach makes me hopeful that more Americans then I thought havent forgotten what their rights are, and the ultimate truth that the government has power because we give them power, not the other way around. If the people decide to ignore the law or any state directive, the state cant stop even a small fraction of said state's populace. The people seem to have figured that out again, and are trying to rip back the power they have let the government take over the last 100 years.

Thankfully my state has figured out right quick by watching the shitshow that is michigan and new york that ignoring the people is a 1 way ticket to a very messy end, and are listening to the protests. Personally I feel that violent resistance is going to spring up in some states before this is all over, because the only way to weed out some corruption and remind certain governments who is really in power is to be as blunt as possible.

It might erupt in Michigan, and violence will definitely happen in California if the major shithole cities demand infinite lockdowns. LA is locked down forever now. It has no end date.

CIVIL WAR 2.0 LETS GO

The other horrifying conclusion: if/when another major infectious disease happens, who is going to want to listen tot he government? They've cried wolf over Zika and the Ebola outbreaks in Africa, now this? If there was another disease as fatal as the Spanish flu or the Bubonic plague, nobody would listen until the bodies paves the streets in congealed diseased blood.

Trust in the government has hit an all time low, and is working on the pneumatic drill as we speak. November is gonna be an absolute SHITSHOW.

Social breakdown in the developed world is a terrifying concept.
When society shifts into reverse, no matter the reason, it is never a pleasant experience, and it always bathes in the blood of the innocent along the way.

I noticed Tucker Carlson brought up Georgia last night. We’ve hit the three week mark since Georgia began re-opening. The curve is unchanged. Georgia remains the baseline average for the US. No spike. The exact same curve. Absolutely no difference observed between open and lockdown/shelter at home. Florida is looking exactly the same. Other states are noticing this (Minnesota seems to have taken the hint surprisingly). Normal people seem to have picked up on it. Except the idiots in New York City who still proclaim the end times while worshipping Cuomo.

Also noteworthy I’m hearing from “reliable sources” Georgia’s numbers of daily positive tests are the same or slightly diminished. But the number of daily negative tests has increased a full order of magnitude. All counties are now pretty well maxed out in daily testing, but the only observed increases are in negative Results.

What was meant as caricature a century ago conceals a central (though often concealed) truth about the American character: 'Is there a government? Then I'm agin it!'

I called about my neighbor Jacob Sockness having a bunch of anal sex outside and yelling racial obscenities about COVID-19. He needs to be stopped.

Our founders would be stacking bodies by now.
