Crime Utah CEO gets 210 days in jail for having 13K files of infant & child rape, bestiality

A judge sentenced admitted pedophile and former Utah CEO Douglas Saltsman to 210 days in jail and 48 months probation on Thursday for possessing more than 13,000 files of graphic child pornography, some of which involved rape and bestiality.

Saltsman was facing one to 15 years in prison, and a $10,000 fine for each of the three second-degree felonies, of which he pleaded guilty.

Saltsman, 40, was originally facing 11 charges related to the seizure of more than 13,000 files of graphic child pornography in August 2019.

Newly revealed in court Thursday was the fact that some of the child pornography files Saltsman admitted to viewing and sexually gratifying himself to featured bestiality.

Considered by many to be a "computer genius," Saltsman was the founder of a now-defunct blockchain and cryptocurrency company which was based in Sandy.

Judge Douglas Hogan, however, suspended those recommendations, giving Saltsman 210 days in jail, saying:

I'm going to suspend the imposition of the statutory terms. I'm going to place Mr. Saltsman on probation with Adult Probation & Parole (AP&P) for a period of 48 months. Consistent with the parties' stipulated agreement, Mr. Saltsman will serve 210 days in jail. Credit for the time served up to this point is 148, that leaves an outstanding balance to be served. Upon completing the total of 210 days he may be released to Adult Probation & Parole and Supervision. He's to check in immediately, which means within 48 hours. He'll be subject to group A sex offender conditions. He'll need to undergo and complete successfully sex offender treatment and therapy. He will also need to undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with any recommended treatment... Mr. Saltsman it's going to be incumbent upon you when you meet with your probation officer, make sure you completely understand all of those conditions."
During the sentencing, prosecutor Cynthia Poulsen pointed out that in his pre-sentencing evaluation, Saltsman only talked about himself and how the charges affected him.

There was never any mention of the victims, the prosecution told Judge Hogan.

Judge Hogan allowed Saltsman to address the court, which is within his rights.

During his sentencing, Saltsman said:

I just want to say that every day I wake up to shame, guilt, regret, and disgust. When I did the psychosexual evaluation all I could talk about was confusion and compulsive behaviors, talk about downloading, viewing, and masturbating to child pornography. I didn't understand why I would think these things. I started seeing a psychiatrist right after that. I was prescribed medication and I began therapy. That's when I started to understand some of the deeper mental issues. I learned that my self-destructive behavior matches my self-hatred. That's what I was trying to share with AP&P. Mrs. Poulsen was right, I didn't see victims then, I saw it was only affecting myself. Now I see the victims. I just want to continue getting help. I want to repair the damage I have done, that I see that I have done. I want to be able to look at myself in the mirror. I'm sorry. I'll make sure this never happens again, you'll never see me."
The details of the sordid case began when Saltsman was first busted by police on May 7, 2019, after searching his home and seizing his electronic devices.

Police submitted the child pornography files to the law enforcement portal of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, where 279 of the submitted files depicted known identified child victims.

Police first investigated child pornography when they were alerted to an internet provider address that was sharing child pornography using a peer-to-peer file-sharing program.

The first file, according to documents, was a compilation video of prepubescent girls under 8, some as young as toddlers, being raped.

Investigators obtained a search warrant and the Internet Crimes Against Children task force, known as ICAC, helped execute the search.

According to documents, child sex abuse imagery involving toddlers and prepubescent children was found on a laptop, a black computer, an SSD storage device and an SD card. The children were bound and raped. Police also found "disturbing videos of Douglas Saltsman engaged (in) sexual intercourse with several unconscious women," on the seized devices.

They also said they found a "clandestine drug lab of some sort" in a downstairs bedroom closet and called the Sandy Fire Department and hazmat team to make sure the chemical lab was not a public safety hazard.

Saltsman made his first court appearance in December 2019.

i mean the stuff is already made , why not decrease the need for new stuff by increasing avalibility of the old stuff ? that is if its kids who come first not the disgust at ewwww pedophiles. Imho Children first despite pedophiles being disgusting.

To make that a humane program the recovered children would need to be euthanized. Pedos would probably creep around and keep tabs on them through the internet and real life, not knowing why someone is looking at them in the street would be a stressful environment to grow up in for a CSA survivor, living in a world where that abuse material is freely available. On the plus side, child sized gas chambers can't be that expensive to build.

On a serious note, I can't imagine how badly it would fuck with someones head growing up knowing that child pornography of them is widely circulated and viewed by thousands of people that are like their abuser, except those pedos are not in prison, they're free and walking the streets like anyone else.

The fact that we're even debating this like it's a misunderstood, ambiguous grey area is retarded.

Yeah, the first part was just a shitpost. There's no grey area and I'm honestly surprised that a kid hasn't grow up into being a paranoid teen that at one points snaps and starts shooting dudes that gives them a weird look.

I feel bad for the meth dealer named Douglas Saltsman who has to have his good name associated with a pedo.

Oh wait, that's an interesting coincidence.

And here is another Saltsman drug manufacturer:

why are videos of people being murdered legal but videos of people being raped illegal? possessing a video of a crime being committed should not be a crime.
murdered people aren't around to see it anymore, cp victims are (usually) still here. their recoveries are complicated by knowing that videos of their abuse are being passed around by pedos and used to groom other kids. some victims are sent videos of their abuse on purpose, some see images of themselves posted by chance. it isn't comparable.

I realize what I should really be concerned about's this asshole getting fuck all time in prison despite being a complete degenerate, but I just gotta say the title bugs me. I get that "Utah CEO" obviously is supposed to mean that he's a CEO in Utah, but technically it could also mean he's the CEO of Utah. Surely "CEO from Utah" would be better, or maybe replace the Utah bit with the company he actually worked for, either way the title's fucked, almost as much as the children he got his hands on in fact.

I'm just gonna say this dude is going to need to make like 6ix9ine and keep his head down or else. But he won't. All these guys reoffend. All of them. And unless he has an even bigger pool of guys to rat out, he's going to get nailed for both that and everything he wasn't here. I guarantee you his days are numbered.

lol some of you guys are suggesting he's given a quick and painless death, sick fucks like him deserve a life-long torture, CIA style, kept just barely alive until he dies from old age.

EDIT: wtf it's not working!!!!! It's "Crawling" by Linkin Park 'cause ow the edge

Also ofc he's given a short amount of time for being a CEO. Average Joe commits the same crimes, a super long amount of time and a nice place on the sex offender registry, but if you're a CEO you only get a few months. Fuck this country.

Wouldn’t surprise me that he and/or his wife are related or in good with senior level LDS leadership; if you got them in your pocket, you can pretty much do whatever you want in Utah.

Mormon Jesus advises the ones at top to have celestial buttsex with children to the electronic old men.

EDIT: too far?

Maybe the government planted the CP on his computer, it's not like they don't already have free reign on everybody's browser or something.
A bit harder to plant videos of him raping passed out women tho. Besides that, imagine some glownigger planting 13k pics of baby rape on this piece of shit's computer so that a judge can give him 210 days, less than half of which he'll actually serve.

"your rights end where my feelings begin." someone feeling bad about pictures existing on the internet is not a valid reason for the pictures to be removed from the internet.

then why don't they just make it illegal to buy CP but legal to pirate it? why doesn't the FBI just upload their entire CP collection (probably several petabytes) to their website to eliminate the demand for more CP production? studies have also shown that fewer rapes occur when people have something to jerk off to. I'm not a pedo but this would be better for everyone, especially people who own websites like 9chan.

Nigger what?

Child porn (as in the real thing) is a crime by it's very existence. Lolicon and shotacon are depraved, but while you can argue they don't hurt mere kids simply by existing, CP involved hurting a child simply to create it, and thus is wrong to own, view, or distribute, and for good reason.

If you are just trolling, then congrats, I was snowed. If you are serious, then let me give you two pence to buy a good stout rope with which to hang yourself with.
