20+ years of hentai and fandoms consisting of fucked up erotic fanfiction probably laid some solid groundwork. I don't know how long the creepy Supernatural fandom have been around(many years at least) but that seems to focus on two biological brothers fucking each other. That's mine as well. People don't really get why the porn industry still makes giant hour long videos nobody is watching the entire duration of other than some maniac. The goal is to hit up every fetish angle possible. Incest is an easy "value added" one that doesn't require any extra props, can apply to any situation where the actors are the same race (and often not even then), and doesn't really affect filming. It seems like the big fad of our era just like the obsession with teen stuff in the 2000s.
