Interesting thought but I doubt it.

Her FB had some of that self affirmation type BS that people with emotional problems tend to post so it's possible but I'd say unlikely.

If TUG poached a minor from a mental health facility that would have been an instant end to his career 14 yrs ago.

From what I gather, Ashley was some sort of relation to TUG's deceased stepfather who in her teens wound up in the custody of TUG's mother. Mailbox Matt was just some thirty year old oily talking creeper hangin' around momma's house, going "Hey Therrree" in the hallway until he was able to safely and legally marry her when she turned 18. Ashley's consequent mental development to possessing Matt's worst traits is a powerful argument on why such shit should never be allowed, btw.

Since TUG never really had a career as a certified mental health professional despite his inferences otherwise (only as an orderly on the grounds of "big hick who looks able to wrassle a patient to the floor if he was interrupted from mopping floors") and Lola's statements of her place of residence at TUG's residence as a minor, this seemed the most reasonable explanation for me.
