TVTropes has old and not-aging-well articles about how the Flynn Investigation and the Mueller Report are "real life" examples of "Minor Crime Reveals Major Conspiracy" and "The Streisand Effect" , these people are the most potent distillation of autism I've seen outside those who commission Sonic porn.
They're not wrong. The Flynn investigation and Mueller report revealed just how deep the rabbit hole goes in the Obama administration.

Btw, on the topic of Red Pills, TV Tropes claims that the right is misusing the term:

"The term Redpilled is nowadays used by a great number of right-wing people who claim that they have woken up to how the world really is (mostly in regards to feminism or racism). Red was the colour of premarin, a pill commonly prescribed to transgender women in the 1990s. Both Wachowskis have since come out as trans women, i.e. woken up to who they really are. Quite whether this was all intentional is uncertain; in light of this, however, red pillers adopting this imagery is pretty hilarious."

Not as hilarious as the left being Yancy to the right's Phillip.

Which is interesting when you consider neither Wachowski showed any signs of troonism until they got famous and the one that lopped its cock off first got in deep with a dominatrix who's fetishes included 'sissifying' men.
It also needs to be point out that until their shit got famous, both were kissless film nerds, and this was likely the first time he'd had a woman come on to him (or at least something readily identifiable as a woman), and very possibly the first time he'd gotten sex he didn't have to pay for.

In summation, the Matrix is an overrated film that has no originality and steals everything about it from something else, and it is a good thing they never made any sequels because if they had I'm sure they would have been utter horrible confused dreck as the brothers run out of ideas and one of them's life is consumed by his new acquired fetish of being turned into a sissy.

The first film was tepid for me, the action was and still is badass but the story is so boring. The other two are garbage though. It’s clear the forth one, which will have legit TDS and right-winger bashing, is being made as a cash in on nostalgia.

The Matrix is a rip of of various anime most notably an episode of Ghost In the Shell. It's just that in the early 90s anime was somewhat obscure so nobody noticed the blatant plagiarism.

um if it weren't the "redpill" meme, we wouldn't have any NRx thinkers who paved the way for great political dialogue like this:

I did not know that. I knew the Wachowskis were becoming left wingers, I never knew they were unoriginal hacks.
Star Wars is also based on Japanese media. Though George Lucas actually admits he took "inspiration" from Akira Kurosawa (the OG films are borderline plagiarized if you've seen the source material).

Basically, there are no original stories and the entertainment industries of the world have been copying one another since forever.

Ghost in the shell, action & shooting techniques ripped off the early 90s HK films. They got away with it because it was from when Asian media - but especially anime because 'cartoons are for children' - was EXTREMELY niche and the only things that entered public consciousness were because the rights could be had for a song.

In the 90s there was very limited awareness of Japanimation. The bandwidth required to stream video (even grainy 320i) accross the pacific was limited to people with literal satellites in orbit. So the only cost effective way to get video from there to here was on physical cassettes. (Real Video would do something to slightly alleviate this, eventually)

Especially shit like GitS did not fly with 80s/90s TV censors, and because it wasn't MPAA rated no 'reputable' media shop or rental store would carry them* and if they did IIRC they had to be put into the "Adult" section due to no rating. And of course no dubs, and sometimes not even subs.

* I no longer remember if this was due to fear or if there was actual restrictions, or one of those things wehre "the restrictions are lifted, but everyone still scared"

Nowadays, we have blockbusters and tv shows having to explain to us why Orange Man is bad and Democrats are good.

"Hurr, Star Wars plagarized from Dune, Buck Rodgers, Kurosawa, Joseph Campbell, LotR, Asimov, Metropolis, the Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire, the Dam Busters, and Lost Horizon."

Dude, you can only plagarize one or two things before its not plagarism anymore. Plagarism does exist, so stop the conflation. You're giving real hacks cover.

George Lucas has stated when talking about Akira Kurosawa that he influenced how Lucas did shot framing and visual style. For Star Wars in particular, Kurosawa's The Hidden Fortress is where he took a lot of story inspiration from with things like characters and plot. Personally, I wouldn't consider it as a case of plagiarism over just being heavily influenced by another director's works. I think almost every director would say they've been influenced by the work of a previous filmmaker or work in some way.

I don't really know how discussion spiraled down into talking about movies, but to go back on topic a bit. Maybe it's just because I haven't seen any outrage posted here in awhile about Trump's attitude towards the WHO, especially now since criticism towards them isn't just coming from the states. I remember a bunch of TDS sufferers attacking him for his stance on the WHO being corrupt, interesting that I'm not seeing much when other countries join the US. Now they just seem to be ignoring it and moving on to other talking points.

It's most likely just the glasses style that is "in" at the moment for those crowds and at least popular enough in general for glasses companies to keep putting out that style. I don't really get the whole "buying glasses just because popular look" since you normally want something that compliments your face structure, hairstyle, and fits your needs.

Frankly, I find that style just doesn't work for a lot of the people that pick it and they'd look better with something else, but that style presents them in a specific way to other people that they must want. Maybe something along the lines of "quirky girl with wit" in a similar vein to how some glasses scream "Librarian" or "I really liked the matrix" which pulls people to picking them even if it just doesn't look good. The face also furthers the idea that she wants to appear "quirky" to people.
I can't wait for this chunky glasses fad to die in a fire. I dropped my last pair when switching from my work prescription safety glasses to my normal glasses which scratched them, and trying to find a simple gold or silver frame with spring hinges was impossible. There were ugly, clunky, heavy tortiseshell plastic monstrosities and neon blue, pink, and green cheap metal junk, but no simple oval frames that didn't sit on your face and scream "I'M WEARING MOTHERFUCKING GLASSES! CAN YOU SEE THESE FUCKERS? I WILL SMACK YOU WITH THEM IF YOU DON'T NOTICE THESE FUCKING GLASSES!"

I used to wear contacts but they were expensive with the astigmatisms, and made my eyes feel tired. I stopped when I went in the military because you didn't have time in boot camp, and never got back into them.

Every time I need new glasses I always try and pick out the ugliest monstrosities to get a good laugh from looking in the mirror, I didn't think anyone would actually put those ones on and say "Woah, these look great!"
