What the fuck does She-ra even have to do with Voltron? They're made by the same studio but otherwise they're completely separate series. Guess I shouldn't be surprised though given how insane Voltron fans are.

Some of them turned a blind eye to that fact. That said, Catradora lost a lot of fans very quickly, since its fanbase was built on "oh look, two pretty girls making eyes at each other, it'll be pure and lovely" and then the actual show aired.
Well, some of the SPOP staff were ex-Voltron fans (who iirc also worked on Voltron?) and hated the show for not giving them Klance. And some of the more bitter Klance fans hopped onto Catradora.

We have yet to find any legitimate proof that ANYONE on the staff besides Dante Basco was a Zutara shipper, and these morons never provide anything close to substantial when challenged to. When Kataang is canon beyond canon because they had a real friendship that formed over 3 seasons and only had ONE instance of Consent Issues with kissing. I didn’t even watch Avatar in its entirety but it was beyond obvious from the first episode that Aang and Katara would end up together. You can't get much more blatant than that. I remember how absolutely rabid Zutara fans were back when the show was still airing; they loathed Mai for getting in the way of their ship and would constantly whine about how she was too bitchy/boring for Zuko, which is rich when you fucking know the majority of these landwhales just projected themselves onto Katara. Funny how some things never change.

I thought the date Zuko went with that Ba Sing Sai chick was great. Although not serious romatic plot or anything like that, the date was great because it showed both how bad he was with people and his general bad faith toward humanity but also how sweet he could be. Way better than what he had with Mai (who I found generally badly written charcater that shouldn't have been in the series let alone as important role she had).

I liked Zutara because I like villain/hero ships and I thought Aang and Katara had a creepy Anakin/Padme vibe. But there's no way I'd pull my hair out over being denied my OTP. It's just a cartoon.
It didn't help matters that Bryke and Co. were going "Neener neener neener" and teasing Zutaratards over being denied their Ship. The fan hysteria over the ship was stoked by them for laughs, knowing how unhinged it was going to make people. The creators of the show are just as immature as the fans in my opinion.

Real people aren’t equivalent to fictional characters because they’re actually affected to some degree by your actions and you’re making them uncomfortable. It’s not hypocrisy to be against that, lol.
