All he needs to do, is stop calling everyone who annoys him a moron and not interact with "detractors", stop begging and calling what he's doing crowdfunding, and do something that isn't selfish like one charity stream in his entire life and he'd probably shut up 90% of the people who don't like him but he knows then he'd lose his audience.

Phil's reminiscing about his halcyon days in 2012 where he was "the underdog" and "everyone had his back." The delusion is staggering.
It's not like he built up a fanbase way back then when there weren't that many people to watch and it took some time for most people to realise how truly insufferable DSP he is or anything.

Also, and this is just me: DSP actually *sort of* used to give half a shit once upon a time. His videos were never fantastic or anything like that, but they certainly were a cut above what's there now, which is almost not even the bare minimum.

The "crowfunding" thing bugs me a lot because the original pitch for early Kickstarter stuff was "everyone please help us develop something that you will all get to enjoy. This will be a collaborative effort because we can't afford the initial monetary risk ourselves."

With Phil, it's "give me money." There's no collaboration or anything to "fund." You're not getting anything you weren't getting before, and we know that he's not going to actively improve the quality. Even if we were being super generous and saying "Phil is taking the money and using it to continue to buy new games for the stream", you don't use the word "crowdfund" for an ongoing service that arguably is never going to be completed.

It's basically "pay me to fund me, but also pay me to remove my own personal risk from the situation, as well." For sure, people use the income they get from their business to put back into their business, but with Phil, it's phrased in such a way that there's no humility of "I got this money, I'm thankful for it and am going to use it to improve the quality of my offerings so that I can continue to do good business."

There's always this layer of guilt in terms of "help me pay my bills" with the implication that his content would go away otherwise. "Crowdfunding" implies that the community has some kind of ownership or investment in the product that we know he isn't putting in himself. Sorry, I know this is repetitive, but it's just Phil trying to sound smart at best, and at worst setting up an abusive relationship with his audience.

Phil definitely had his haters back in 2010. AVGN clones were always shit on in those days, people commented how he sucked at games, wasn't funny, etc... there's plenty of comments you can find now showing this. The hate is way different now, but this "everyone had his back" is delusional shit, probably just because Phil never needed to notice what anyone was saying about him then.

I personally believe Phil never noticed how hated and disliked he was until his YT channel started going into decline.

Instead of reading the valid criticism thrown his way, he immediately concluded that it was other people who were wrong, and not him.

Here we are 12 years later where he is rewriting facts and history like a delusional loser so he can make sense of how he miserably failed what was once a lucrative cashcow while retaining a modicum of respect for what he’s personally built.

It’s really shocking how deluded he has become and how he has become a perfect case study that demonstrate if you repeat a lie enough times, you’ll start believing that it becomes reality.

Another quality delusional prestream rant by Phil today on how we're always moving the goalposts, etc... Apparently everyone would complain if there was no prestream now.
I'm still trying to figure out why he even calls it a 'pre-stream'. It's still a stream meant to vacuum the wheelchair wallets. Anything before an actual stream is 'pre-stream'. Him rolling out of bed is 'pre-stream', him taking a morning dump is 'pre-stream'. Mr. Valedictorian fails to understand what 'pre' means.

It makes even less sense that his schedule says the stream starts at 10:15.

Then there is over an hour of shitty music, begging, and pignosis. Followed by a 20 minute break.

Why not say prestream 10:15 gameplay 12:00?

"Everyone had my back" = "I made more money".

Anybody else confused by a person who would more than $100 to have Phil not say your tipping name (or at least, not have any idea what it translates to) just so you can get "butt love" and "veiny dick" on screen?

Didn't Phil confirm that he did?

You're talking about a man who has solidly for 46 days going on 47 got his viewers to pay him $100 collectively (usually with a handful of small incremental tips and a few large tips) to wear a vest. If that somehow makes sense to anyone at face value, working past that to have a ridiculous name spoken or shown on his screen is going to seem perfectly logical.

He does still enjoy Animal Crossing. Hates every other game.

He enjoys Animal Crossing in the same way he enjoys the vest streak, it remains profitable and is absolutely the most low effort exceptional shit that someone else did all the work figuring out for him all he has to do is go through the motions for a couple hours and clock out.

He's treating his viewers like he very likely treated his parents when he was dependent on them. Gib da munnies, but don't you dare make demands of him or have expectations of him. Just shut the fuck up and be his life support, like a good enabler.

I had a really good time playing video games yesterday and today, and coming to the realization that DSP likely hasn't had fun with a video game in decades made it even better.
I always find myself re-watching the TIHYDP of Mario Sunshine every now and then. The best part of watching Phil is that he gives you the motivation to replay one of your favorite games and give it the gameplay it deserves, like wrapping an abused dog in a warm blanket.

Aside from being easy as hell, I'm pretty sure a big part of why he likes Animal Crossing is because Kat likes it. And being the cuck that he is, I don't think Phil would dare shit on a game which the horse spends a lot of time on and loves, especially when she's the one doing everything on the island, hence being HER island.

Just like how he loves her homemade custom tuna casserole and loves listening to Tibetan throat singing with her.

That's how adult relationships work. Real adults lie to each other and pretend to like each other's interests. That's what love is all about.
