Unpopular Opinions about Video Games

I liked the American Mario 2 or Doki Doki whatever the fuck. Repetitive boss battles but Mario 1 had that too.
I wasn't a fan of the vertical platforming and a bunch of weird shit that was tacked on.

Doki Doki supposedly started as a Mario title before being converted to Doki Doki and then later converted back to a Mario game.

I'll just come out and say it. (SPOILER ALERT)

Even though I liked the game overall, Witcher 3 is one of the most overrated games I've ever played, with all the praise given to its admittedly exceptionally good writing, characters, choices, and world-building covering up the fact that, when you remove all that, the gameplay loop and the like is only average at best.

Like, whenever I hear people sing the praises of it in videos calling it the greatest game of the 2010s and all that, almost all I hear is them gushing about the story and characters, and how superbly written every single quest is, while suspiciously making very little mention of the fact that when you actually have to play them, you're basically going over the same exact mission structure over and over again.

Not to mention that I feel that the game's pacing is a huge issue post Battle of Kaer Morhn. Seriously, that mission has all the feel of being the final one, or at the very least, penultimate one, so I expected the game to end pretty soon afterwards. Nope, there's still 10+ hours of game left to go. At this point, the game's momentum comes to a screeching halt as you now have to do all these other missions before the game actually ends, and there's no new locations or anything either. It just feels incredibly awkward and deflating.

Again, don't get me wrong, I still think the game is good, purely for the writing and all that. But unlike everyone else it seems, that simply isn't enough for me to overlook the issues IO have with it's gameplay, mission design, and pacing.

Super Mario Bros 2 AKA The Lost Levels isn't very good. Too much BS level design that faggots use to justify BS romhacks. Nintendo of America made the right call by passing on it.
it has some good levels, but god, there is some grade A BS in it (like the springs that shoot you off the screen, springs in general can fuck off)

doki mario had no time limits. which is the biggest improvement.

There's a spring in world 3 that takes you to a warp that brings you back to the 1st level. Fuck that troll game.

  • Kratos is a way more interesting character than Dante.
  • DmC isn't really a bad game.
  • Vergil from the original never possessed any honor what so ever and honestly would make Kratos blush with how much world dooming he commits.
  • Bayonetta is still a better hack/slash than DMC.
  • Bioshock Infinite is a over-hyped pretentious Cod clone with super powers.
  • Bioshock 2 does what Infinite does but better.
  • Days Gone is more than a worthy rival for Rdr2.
  • God of War 4 plot is no more higher quality than any of the games from the original trilogy or the psp spin-off.
  • Spiderman ps4 is good but not the "best spoider man evah" and Web of Shadows handidly out does it terms of gameplay.
  • I prefer Lord of Shadows take on Castlevania much more than the OG franschise.
  • If the MK franschise could take advantage of its WB budget and put more of it into decent writer and towards polishing theyre mechanics it wouldn't need to rely an already over used gimmick.
  • The Force Unleashed games are more enjoyable than Fallen Order.
  • Galen Marek/Starkiller was never a Gary Stu and anyone using him as a "whatabout-ism" in defense of Rey needs to take a fucking wrinting class.
  • Tell-Tale walking dead should of ended after season 1. Any season after that was crap.
  • Kenny should of never have been brought back for season 2 as it shows the writers was already trying to bank on nolstalgia cause they had no faith in it.
  • Jane was the right choice screw Kenny.

Rating disagree just for that last choice alone.

"Durrr I killed a baby! Aren't you upset, Kenny?! Haha look at how irrational he is! He's fucking crazy Clementine, look, he's trying to kill me after I got a knife out! He's so fucking irrational and crazy!!"

Fuck Jane. Kenny might be unhinged, but that final confrontation was her fault.

The bonus chapter for Xenoblade Definitive edition is really bad and focuses too much on nopon bullshit because it's really just a 5 minute explanation stretched out over 2 hours.

Could yall actually argue it instead of simply disagreeing.

I thought I made my point already. Kenny isn't the most stable guy but you don't prove how unstable he is by lying about letting a baby out to die, actively antagonizing him about it, getting out a knife, hitting in the groin and poking him in his empty eye socket. What does that prove, that he isn't a doormat? Big whoop.

Pretty sure my opinion was stated: Jane made a bad situation worse to make an unstable man, someone who just lost another loved one, to flip his shit. Kenny went a bit far in season one, but season two Kenny I could understand and agree with to some extent (unlike Jane).

I like the CONCEPT IDEAS of a lot of David Cage's games. As fun as it is to make fun of, I feel like Heavy Rain does have a rather iconic quality to it that I appreciate. Beyond Two Souls had potential if it wasn't for the dumbfuck writing. Detroit is the only one so far that managed to almost stick the landing. I actually genuinely hope our favorite pretentious Frenchman makes it one day.

You're right. Shadow of the Colossus is not a good game.

It's a great game.

Nah but seriously, I respect your opinion.
The biggest thing for me how boring it is, how there is no progression. Every boss is just "Find way to weakpoint and mash button, repeat till boss falls over." I don't know how anyone gets past the third boss.

Did you play the remake? Not only do you get a slew of new weapons and items, but they fixed the controls.

There's a reason why the PS4 version is much easier than the original PS3 HD re-release. Under specific circumstances now, you can one shot each weakpoint.
