Unpopular Opinions about Video Games

Did you play the remake? Not only do you get a slew of new weapons and items, but they fixed the controls.

There's a reason why the PS4 version is much easier than the original PS3 HD re-release. Under specific circumstances now, you can one shot each weakpoint.

You only get those weapons and items after you beat the game and after completing Time Attack. You get one item/weapon every two colossi you beat in that mode. It was in the original version as well.

No there's a few new weapons added that were not in the original, one unlocks once you collect the shining coins.

They also fixed how some of the time attack rewards work, because you had some that just didn't function well at all in the original game.

I enjoy Max Payne 3, probably moreso than most fans of the series. The shooting is viscerally satisfying; every shot has a weight to it that you don't really see in other games and it just feels good, at least if you're playing on PC. The cutscenes have an insane production quality to them. I love all the editing tricks and visual effects the game employs to heighten Max's state of mind and somewhat emulate the comic feel of the previous games.

I do understand why fans dislike it; Max comes off as a whiny cunt and the writing in general feels disconnected from the previous games. Max in the first two games was emotionally disturbed, but it rarely came across as whiny self-loathing, where in 3 he feels like he's 5 minutes away from blowing his brains out. Not to mention the cutscenes, while lavishly produced, are excruciatingly long and frequent, and unless you're playing on a halfway decent PC, they're basically unskippable. Still though, I enjoy the story because it shifts more towards neo-Noir and the subplot with Max's alcoholism is excellently done in my opinion.

i actually liked the atmosphere of 3, and how max was
but after a while i gave up because it was starting to annoy me
also the plot was just "your princess is in another castle" over and over, and it just pissed me off

The Mako sections of Mass Effect 1 were not that bad and didn't warrant them getting removed entirely in later games in the series.
Skyrim is an inferior RPG compared to Morrowind or even Oblivion
Spelunky's music is overrated
Blood is better than Quake
Age of Empires series is better than C&C, Starcraft, or Warcraft

ME2 and 3 seriously suffered from not having vehicles (the Hammerhead barely counts in my opinion because you could skip over it almost entirely; I often forget it's a thing). Those Mako sections really added to the feeling of going to planets and made the universe feel large. Yeah, the planets reused assets like crazy but the fact you could explore them at all was neat. Planet scanning was an incredibly poor substitution and only shined a spotlight on the increasingly limited scope of the sequels.

If RPGs are gonna have romance, it should be a scripted element instead of this dating sim crap you get in every game nowadays. Just makes the relationships feel artificial and awkward.

Granted, the only people I know who go out of their way to get romance options are fatass cat ladies and dateless wonders. So I guess it's just devs following the money.

I still like Battlefield V even though it’s been lacklustre and is being put to sleep by DICE and EA

I love my N64, but man it's got a small library with a lot of bland shit.
I can confirm this, growing up our N64 was largely used to just play rented racing games and occasionally Pokemon Snap. It was also the one Nintendo console where we skipped most if not all of the Mario entrys.

it's probably the worst battlefield to date. it did nothing new. battlefield 1, 3 and 4 felt like they built on the franchise and did something cool.

I want to like it, I really do but I just don't enjoy Sekiro. Don't get me wrong the combat system is magnificient as hell. But I'm annoyed by the game then dragging itself down with the annoying Batman: Arkham style stealth. I would just prefer it if I could skip it to just the boss battles.
