Because everyone hates Mother's Basement. Everyone on Reddit, Twitter, Discord, etc. fucking despises him. They all sub to him and watch his shitty videos just to make fun of them, because frankly it's just way too easy.

Digi and Basement were friends at one point before Basement became a hardcore sellout, and it hurts Digi's fee-fees to see someone make content for normies. He wants everything to be deeply analytical and thought-provoking and can't stand the fact that most people don't give a shit.

Something to take note of. Digi's mom is on twitter and replies to their tweets with positive reinforcement. She posted encouraging tweets to the person who made the Loli drawings of Digi/May. I don't think most parents would be encouraging of the creepy loli drawings lol.

Clearly Digi's Mom is also an enabler of bad ideas and the root of all the problems we see today. From what we know, Digi's mom was a hippie and didn't really try to place any societal expectations on Digi. Digi's parents didn't have financial security causing their family to move frequently (lack of social skills/ability to make friends). Most well adjusted parents who raise a child probably would step in and say "listen kid.... always have a fallback plan... pursue education..... learn to brush your teeth.... don't only eat fast food and get addicted to soda... maybe talk you feelings out with a therapist, etc". Similar to May, Digi can do no wrong in their mother's eyes.

More than a few times now I have chatted with anime fans in real life that have somehow, ended up spouting opinions and unsupported speculation on anime production that originated with Geoff's videos as though it is factually true; completely unaware of its origins from a Mother's Basement video. He's bizarrely influential.

It's only ethical to give mentally ill people pharmaceutical advice here if it's disastrously bad. I don't know enough about CBD and THC to know if your post meets the high level of harm bar expected of medical advice on The Farms.

Just FYI we expect a psychotic break to occur in at least 25% of the people taking the advice and at least 1% of them to try to eat their own head.

Digi completely dropped the high-pitched voice when he went on Who Are These Podcasts this week. If this means that he drops the girly voice for podcasts and will only use it for scripted content or if he dropped the voice entirely I'm not sure.

The voice thing was probably done so that digi could fall into the delusion that people think that digi-nee is a biological woman. Digi probably changed back because she doesn't care how others viewed her, and (from the impression of prior videos) never really had cared for other's opinions on herself.
But @fugnug could probably explain herself better than I.

I feel like people who watch Anime in their younger years tend to feel as though they live inside the world's presented to them. They find inspiration in the characters outlooks and disposition, companionship in the friendships displayed, or find sexual satisfaction in the idealized depictions of youth. And then you have 3 camps of people from there that branch out:
  1. The ones who get bored of watching, can no longer suspend their disbelief, outgrow the predominantly high school setting, and move on with their life.
  2. The ones who still strongly identify with the worlds and settings, but realize that they are no longer young and don't have anything in common with it from a developmental level, but still wish to engage with the community and find some form of interaction with it in appreciating the actual technical aspects of Anime (creation of the story, analysis of the voice actors, appreciation of the music, discussing color palette and cut development... ect)
  3. The ones who still strongly identify with the worlds and settings, but realize that they are no longer young, become terrified of this fact, and rather than dedicate themselves to a craft and continue to find appreciation in the artistry of Anime as an adult, decide that the only way to continue to keep the fantasy up is to troon out and become the anime girl they identified with.
I think people like Digibro and Cosmo went with the 3rd branch.
