The cringiest things about gamers

Fanboys. Fanboys are scum of the Earth and responsible for the garbage we get because they will buy anything as long as it is part of their favorite series or console. Fanboys are subhuman manbabies that are fucking disgusting.
The Opposite of that is also hilariously cringe, idiots who refuse to touch something because it is "popular" or by a company that has a popular game.

I believe the worst things about gamers is the stigma against casual games and innovations in the industry. Nintendo is sort of the best when it comes to getting these responses as gamers used to cry at them all the time about how they need to be hardcore and such.

I think a big point in gamers’ refusal for innovation was motion controls. Other than Nintendo and some PC gamers, most have trashed motion controls as being bad because Wii, when games like Splatoon show how motion is superior to a stick and allows for quicker gameplay. Motion controls had and still have lots of potential in the industry, but have been shelved and relegated to VR and Nintendo only. It sucks, as the Wii, while not perfect, was made fun because of these advancements which lead to fun sports recreations and shooters.

As for the casual point, once again the hatred of the Wii sort of created this one. The Wii had so many great casual games like Endless Ocean. Games that were easy pop-in-and-play without asking much of the player. While I love the Switch for trying to bring back these more simple titles with games like Go Vacation, I kinda miss the old days.

I guess I’m speaking more about the Wii in this post, but it really was this great point in gaming that let things be accessible to everyone, and I kinda miss the triple A developer variety of the era.

Game collectors are really cringy. People that buy games not to play them but to fill a wall of shame or worse a room with physical games. They are worse than the comic collectors who never read the comics they buy. Games are meant to be played not collected.
I agree with this wholeheartedly, I’m not gonna go out of my way to get six-hundred fucking sports games I’m never gonna play, most people only have shit like that because they come in their romsets.

Tales of Hearts R has yet to be ported to anything and remains a big deal vita exclusive(not only that a gamestop exclusive on top of it). We are getting the Vita Ys game ported to PS4 but we need the PSP games still.

All the vita Cold Steel games got ported to the PS4 and even include all the DLC, and ontop of that you can reach max level by abusing the DLC since the level up DLC self restores after you've used it. Thereby allowing infinite level ups.

All the YS games are on PC so those games have been saved from the dead system. At this point any Vita game of note is either on PC or will be coming to PC soon. Sad that their are still Vita owners that want games to come to the dead system. Vita fans are way more annoying than Dreamcast fans.

I laugh at a lot of stupid shit, but the only thing that annoys me is Nintendo fans.
Ooooofffff...
Cutting me deep there.

But understandable. Nintendo is the melting pot of everything wrong with gaming in terms of fans.

On one hand, you have the people who say Nintendo can do no wrong and stroke the company off. They let Nintendo get away with anything instead of calling out the terrible products they may produce. An example would be Sword and Shield which still has many defenders. Personally, I get annoyed by Smash and Sakurai worshipers for not realizing that Smash has been cheating out on modes since Brawl, making Ultimate very bare bones outside of roster.

Nintendo also has the people stuck in the past. I primarily see it with GameCube and Nintendo Entertainment System/ Super. These fans say all modern things are terrible and want to go backwards. It is especially frustrating as these fans are always dissatisfied with Nintendo, but will never try new games. They only play mainstream Nintendo franchises (Mario and Zelda) outside of the more obscure GC titles like Pikmin and Chibi-Robo. When told to try new things they usually complain as they want a “Nintendo experience.” Also, don‘t say anything anime to them, they usually hold irrational hatred towards Xenoblade and Fire Emblem. Basically these fans used to like Mario, now they hate it, and when told to try other Nintendo IP or, god forbid, a 3rd party, they whine that Nintendo is not doing enough to suit their needs.

As for other Nintendo fans, yeah it can be pretty bad. If you want the worst of the fan base just look at Smash or Animal Crossing. Pre-3H Fire Emblem was also pretty bad, along with pre-BOTW Zelda. Most fan bases have chilled out in recent years, like Metroid fans stopped throwing a fit at Nintendo and Retro Studios for allowing Retro to go two games without one being Metroid, but some fanbases are still bad. All this to say, Kirby is the chillest and overall best fandom that most should take after. No, seriously... Kirby fans never seem to have issues and actually acknowledge franchise faults.

Anyone who gets angry about you not playing/enjoying a game the same way they do. See: purists, people who are slavishly devoted to vanilla, or anyone who insists a game can only ever be objectively appreciated/enjoyed on the hardest difficulty.

Hell, Smash 4 was a total phone-in, adding some board game thing in place of any kind of adventure mode and removing characters to resell as DLC. It was pretty stupid that they removed the Ice Climbers because the 3DS version couldn't run them, as I guess they autistically wanted parity between each version's roster... despite the two versions not being cross-playable at all. Ultimate was a step up, and they did re-add Home Run Contest in a free update, but the removal of trophies and the obnoxiously long and dull World of Light was a disappointment.

It seems like the irrelevance of the Gamecube has been totally memory holed, too. Like I get that a lot of kids who grew up with one are adults now and see it with rose-colored glasses, but smh if you're past age 30 and you remember Gamecube as being anything more than a Melee or Animal Crossing machine. Gamecube was a really shitty system when it was current, with obnoxiously small memory cards and really pitiful third-party support. Nintendo was also just then losing Rare to Microsoft, and all the alienating they pulled with insisting N64 go with cartridges because reasons while Playstation was becoming every studio's sweetheart was really showing.

Pokémon XD and Fire Emblem: Whatever the Fuck are both valuable games now because they're Gamecube games from 2005, the console's last full year, released long after the PS2 packed Nintendo's shit in good and tightly to the point where the Wii was marketed in a way that hid Nintendo's brand name with it. Seriously, have you ever noticed how in Wii advertisements, they really made sure not to make it obvious that it was a Nintendo product? That was intentional. Their name had soured to such a point by then that their new casual market they targeted would likely see Nintendo and think it's kiddy crap, so they made sure to obfuscate that. Not completely eliminating the brand name or anything, but they didn't slap it alongside the system name like just about everything else they make. I even remember promo videos where they said something like "It's just, Wii!"

This might be surreal to read if you grew up playing a Gamecube when you were very young, but that was the perception of the system. It never had any shortages, and I had no trouble finding any games I cared about even a couple of years after the Wii came out. Seriously, I bought a few Wavebird controllers and a new copy of Paper Mario: TTYD just on a lark for not that much money. It's weird to see all that stuff fly up in value today, but Nintendo's not made Gamecube games available at all on anything new, so, I guess Zoomers gotta give me their entire Trumpbux check so they can play their Paper Mario game from 16 years ago.

Agreed. I don’t mind the cut characters as Brawl already did that, but the Ice Climbers thing was stupid. I also hated characters they brought back from Melee, like why give FE a 5th rep with Roy or Mario a 7th with Dr., they were such unnecessary additions that should have gone to either a new clone, or bringing back one of the cool Brawl ones like Wolf. Seriously, how did Wolf get left behind in 4, him and Lucas were the best use of clones, but apparently Roy needed to come back because Smash fans couldn’t go a day without stroking Melee. I love that it backfired though as now they complain about FE without realizing that their whining brought back Roy and got Chrom included, so they are at fault for the unnecessary Marth clones.

Also, the board game was rushed and stupid. How is it that the 3DS’s Smash Run is more compelling than the two modes of higher powered consoles. The Switch and Wii U look pathetic when the 3DS can pull off having a more fun mode than their big attractions.

Agreed. I’ll give the GC some more credit though as Sunshine and Wind Waker were great games that have yet to have something take their style and one-up them. As for the rest of the catalog, I don’t get it.

I get the general GC fanboys from looking at TheBitBlock, so to counter his points.
Josh always talks about how great Mario spin-offs we’re back then, specifically Mario Party. To start off with, the Wii decimated Mario sports on GameCube. Mario Baseball and Soccer were way better on Wii, so I call BS as these people always say the Wii is bad, yet it had more Mario Sports and better than GC. He also talks about how great Mario Party was, as if the series didn’t slowly crawl to be as unimpressive as the Call of Duty games they speak about. Seriously, after 4, they were just killing the series more every year.

These people also like to suck off Luigi’s Mansion and Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door. I’ve never played Paper Mario, so I cannot say, though YouTuber Whoisthisget seems to show that the game has a multitude of flaws that go unquestioned. As for Luigi’s Mansion, it’s fine, but I honestly prefer the newer titles. For some reason, people like Josh hate NextLevel for ruining Luigi’s Mansion as they claim it is supposed to be spooky and similar to the Disney’s Haunted Mansion attraction. I don’t get why they think a Mario titles would be designed more like a horror, but this idea of Luigi having great atmosphere perpetuates every conversation surrounding the series. Honestly, NextLevel did better than the original. They added more locals, more personality, and better gameplay. I don’t understand why a Mario game needing to be dark is holding back the franchise with these people. It’s Mario!

I guess for a final big title, they always mention Pikmin. They may also mention Chibi-Robo and get mad that Nintendo hinders their less then stellar series from being big. IDK, Pikmin is alright, and Chibi-Robo has personality, but they aren’t exactly games I think one would get hung up over.

To start off, I should clarify that these fans usually hate modern Fire Emblem. I mean, they hate the whole series in general, but the fact that it is doing well and probably gets more attention then say, Paper Mario, seems to frustrate them to no end. To them it seems that FE should either be dead or silently released with no trailers as anime games are cluttering my E3 Direct when I want to see non-Japanese titles, like the weird, very Japanese, Rhythm Heaven. (No seriously, they say this stuff. Josh will hate anime for being to Japanese, then say Rhythm Heaven is good for the exact same reason)

Also your post makes me laugh as these types of people claim the Wii made Nintendo into a kiddie brand. If the Wii was embarrassed by the GameCube, then that says something.

This might be surreal to read if you grew up playing a Gamecube when you were very young, but that was the perception of the system. First off, Millennials are buying GC titles. Gen Z was born in the 2000s, so the Wii was likely the first console. I am one, and my first experience with GC was Wii backwards capability in 2010 when I wanted to try a few titles after watching Chuggaconroy. You are correct though as I saw a TikTok of some Millenial saying their Trump bux are going to Switch. I deleted Tik Tok shortly after.

Seriously though, GC is super overrated. I barely play the titles at this point, except recently because I went and got SpongeBob titles to prepare for BFBBR.

They're big budget, they're usually well known and they're popular. AAA companies have the money for marketing.

Now it's up to the game and fanfare to return that investment.

They push technology and rendering as well. They are the big blockbusters of special effects. Going into the next generation isn't a bad thing, AAA will cost enormous amounts of money but AAA compared to the previous generation or the ones before that will be cheaper, new art-styles can be derived from all that processing power.

Esports fags who take games way too seriously * so many fighting games have been ruined because of dumbass devs chasing this stupid trend *,

Console warriors * There really isn't that much different between an Xbox or PS4 these days and Nintendo keeps shooting themselves in the foot with 3rd parties by relying on gimmicks to sell their hardware instead of making something on par with Microsoft and Sony's machines, there's no excuse for why the Wii was so weak when it released a FULL YEAR after the 360 *

Unironic PC Master Race speds * if the big 3 stopped making consoles tomorrow guess what? games would still be "held back" because developers would aim for mid tier specs because that's what the majority have *

Gamers who are ashamed of their own damn game. * DOA "community" I'm looking at you fuckers thanks for the limp dicked trashheap that was DOA6 *

I agree about the Dreamcast but the Neo Geo was an amazing piece of technology in the mid-90s, it offered a true arcade experience at home and was light years ahead of anything else of the era.

Now I agree with you by the end of the 90s / early 2000s it's style of games had largely fallen out of favor with western audiences but I can't knock a system that lasted from 1990 to 2004.
Dreamcast was great if you liked arcade games * Capcom in particular put out a lot of great shit for the system and well Soul Calibur * and I still think the console has the best design of the 6th gen systems but I honestly think Saturn was Sega's peak as a software maker. * Shame Sega's idiocy botched the thing *

It seems like the irrelevance of the Gamecube has been totally memory holed, too. TBF though was Xbox really any better in that regard? PS2 pretty much swept that gen due to DVDs becoming all the rage and Microsoft being stupid greedy fuckers.

Nintendo consoles for me have sucked since the N64 * Fighting games are my favorite genre and Nintendo has been downright pathetic on that front that's probably why I love the Saturn and Dreamcast so much *

My Gamecube pretty much exists to play Soul Calibur 2 and nothing else.

Hard Truth time : Any Popular Console is going to have a massive pile of Shovelware shit.

Do you know how much fucking garbage there was on the PS2?

Still haven't seen Esports Fags riot over an Esports match like "Real" Sports fans do so lets count or blessings there.
