Fat Acceptance Movement / Fat Girlcows

"Where are the fat girls in Startrek?" Given the radical ability to reconstruct your body in the Federation - the only people who would be anything other than ‘fit’ would be people who chose to look that way.

I have seen similar arguments from other types of self-described disability activists, though I cannot find specific examples right now --- like, if science fiction imagines a future society where deafness is easily curable so everyone enjoys the full human range of hearing, certain "deaf activists" will not respond by saying "That would be great, if medical science can fix anything that's broken"; instead, they respond by ranting, like, "You're saying the ideal society is one where people like me are EXTINCT?‽"

So, yeah -- it's pretty telling that this food addict would watch Star Trek and think "People like me wouldn't exist in Starfleet" rather than "Wow, people like me wouldn't be so morbidly obese in Starfleet!"

Next up: teens with bad acne express outrage over noticing Starfleet has apparently discovered the cure for pimples. "Where are the pizzafaces in Star Trek? Why do people in the 24th century commit genocide against people like me?"

While the author of the anti M600PL might find the premise of the show horrible & anti-woke, she's forgetting a few minor details. Nobody compels the show's participants from signing on. They've surely seen enough episodes to see how the formatting plays out & accept they will have the same things shown about them.

She seriously thinks if you've reached bedbound, almost of completely dependent status that being solicited by M6PL is an attack on their 'safety'? Yeah, nothing would make me feel safer than not being able to move, (fires, tornadoes come to mind) or to be trapped in one room. The epitome of reaching successful adulthood in my eyes, doesn't involve having 1 or more minions to address my every need or want - right up to being toileted like a toddler. Yeah, that there is the epitome of self-actualized, folks!

The hospital he works at & clinic Dr. Now runs, doesn't simply give people a diet have them come back for a few or more months until they're losing weight - the do a thorough medical workup on the patient to make sure they're not at an insanely high risk level for surgery & many episodes show a patient having to wait longer wile outstanding medical issues are addressed.

Lastly, the fact that the show is successful & has been for years, indicates that most people see death fats as a horrible freak show - so beyond the norm that although each episode of M6PL is formulaic, we still tune in to see what freak horrors what new excuses each episode will detail.

Mate, these people are beyond deathfat. They're all into infinifat. A surprising amount of them have spouses as well. Obviously some times that's because the spouse is a feeder, but other times... I don't know what it is. How can they have sexual relations. "I'm waiting for you big boy." "Oh. Erm... which way up are you? Come on now love, fart and give us a clue." Other than being a feeder or a fetishist, why would anyone marry an infinifat.

The partners all look dead inside. I'm currently watching one where the person is caretook by her 21 year old son who looks dead inside and also looks a bit exceptional to be fair. I wonder if all the extra pies and pasties and chips and tacos (the My 600lb Life subject's fast food of choice, a lot of the time) can have an effect on one's foetus the same way that alcohol can. Any obstetric Kiwis fancy enlightening us?

As for freak horrors, I don't think anything possibly tops the brothers Assanti. Justin Assanti would be worth a thread on here and/or an episode all to himself what with being a very stereotypical neckbeard and not exactly mature in any way, but compared to Steven Assanti, who faked falling off a golf cart for attention, developed an addiction to pain pills and then kept trying to have the hospital service same, managed to gain weight on a calorie controlled diet in hospital because he kept ordering secret pizzas, and had the maturity emotional and otherwise of an exceptional 6 year old, Justin is positively a saint.

That's what happens when you subsume your entire human identity, lock, stock and barrel (shape), to a single facet of your existence, preferably a negative one such as a defect or disability; you don't see a cure as meaning you would exist, just without said disability. You see a cure as a threat to your entire identity and thus existence, because deaf, fat, whatever is ALL you are.

Same with fat activists like Ash etc; their fatness defines them. ironically it's what they complain about so bitterly when others reduce them to their size; they call it 'fatphobia' on the part of those who do it, but they do it all the time themselves.

They cannot imagine a life where they exist, happy and within the normal, healthy range of weights for a human their height and sex. If you propose losing weight, they see themselves being erased completely rather than simply existing a few sizes smaller and lighter.

After a point it probably does affect your personality to be this big. You probably do change a lot personality wise when you become a more functional human being wthout the same chips on your shoulders or reliance on others to do simple tasks for you. But to call it erasure is typical modern day activist histrionics desgned to get the critics to shut up.

So wait, you don't even have to apply? Morbidly obese people are offered the chance at weight-loss surgery and a custom-tailored program in exchange for appearing on TV? If you're that sick and struggling so much, that is a hella sweet deal, even if you do end up looking gross in front of America. Your life is more important than your pride.

Bet you ten bucks that a lot of HAES bloggers are secretly praying for an email from Gabe.

Ash?? You mean feeder porn Ash???

It’s honestly sad how much this woman gained in a 5 year span. I’d say at least 300 pounds...

And this bitch has the nerve to be "offended" when feeders and fat admirers post flirty or sexual messages to her on IG.

But yeah, the saddest pictures on Big Cuties are the deliberate weight gain progressions. Some of the women on there were only about 50 pounds from a normal weight when they first started out but have chosen to gain 100+, 200+, 300+ pounds over a few years instead of getting into shape.

As far as I am concerned, the actual purpose of a diet is exactly that- learning how to exercise and eat healthy food without it being a sacrifice. Like, not for the rest of your life if you don't want to, but AT LEAST to introduce better habits on your way of living.

If you start a diet, do it for a month and then go back to the three large pepperoni pizzas and coke bottles per meal, of course the weight will come back.

Yikes. I've worked with this one before. She was pretty cool. Clearly a body posi type, but didn't know she'd drunk the HAES Koolaid. Shame. We got absolutely leathered afterwards and she was a blast.

Here's the bitter fucking pill for Georgina: she's constantly trying to lose weight. Constantly. But surprise surprise, the chubba claiming diets are the devil eats like a fucking pig.
Idk I don't think she's trying to say that diets are the devil. She's saying that "diets" don't work, because it has to be a complete lifestyle change in order for it to work.

I agree with Smarmy, it seems more like she is saying you have to do a complete lifestyle change and also not to actively demean yourself.

The only thing that really pushes it the other way is the "there's no 'secret'" but that could just mean "weight loss is about a lifestyle change and not some secret someone figured out and it's not magic".

I know exactly what happens. Basically, she eats "only 1200 calories a day" but forgets about the frappucino with double cream and extra sprinkles at lunchtime, the "oh, just this once" donuts being handed round the office because it'd be rude to refuse, the extra slices of toast at breakfast time (after all, it's wholemeal and that's healthy, right? Maybe, but it's still another 90 calories per slice), and all the other stuff she munches on throughout the day, the lean chicken salad (about 200 calories) but with half a jar of dressing on it (about 900 calories)... In reality she's eating stuff and not counting it because she either deliberately or otherwise forgets it.

Then again, I suppose it's only a matter of time that "plus sized" influencers end up in that mess. You start off with "the rag trade is full of unrealistic body images and promotes eating disorders amongst models" which is true. That then moves into "people above size eight deserve attention and representation," then to "fatties are normal" which is also true but that's because we live in an obesogenic society with high calorie foodstuffs everywhere and a decline in physical labour jobs, then to "fatties are stunning and brave" and then all the way off the deep end to "thermodynamics doesn't real."

EDIT: Paging through her blog, she is yet another "plus size" influencer who trowels on the makeup. Why do they all do that?
