Okay, after listening to this guy's whole weird spiel about his pseudoscience and history, I have a theory about this, hear me out.
LGBT stuff isn't really big in Japan, and whenever you see some demonstration there, like at least half of the signs are always written in english.
There was this article written in the nhk where they actually had to explain what the whole troon debate was even about.

That said, there's this inexorable connection between troons and anime where it seems like a fair majority of ftm trannies are really into anime.
My hypothesis is that this is the juxtaposition of very sexual content in media that seems largely intended for an audience of young girls, in the same vein as something like MLP in the U.S.
This is kind of the PERFECT content for people in the west who never stopped enjoying children's programming but obviously now also find the blatant sexualization in this foreign media very appealing.

Already having a predilection for typically feminine interests and now inundated with a flood of content that generates this obsession with femininity, while distancing them and making their male characteristics seem totally alienating and possibly repulsive - this made all the worse by the fact that many of them aren't particularly attractive males in the first place.

TLDR: In short, I think it's a dysphoria that forms as a result of very western feelings of alienation and psychological tendencies about gender that latch onto idealized forms of feminine beauty that sort of synergize with their sexual urges. The interface between these two causes them to draw a connection between their feelings of alienation and self disgust and how pleasant and comforting the images on the screen appear to them.

Who here has watched Digi's content in the past and thought, "This dude is so feminine...." I've seen a lot of his videos and never once did he sound or act remotely feminine, pretending or not. You'd have to be pretty exceptional to believe he's some big-brained master of acting who fooled everyone all along. He is, however, exactly the kind of person to pretend to have done that.

And if he was acting all along, he wouldn't be the exact same after supposedly having spent all this time preparing to come out and embracing his femininity and all the other nonsense he's said. All he's done is played with semantics in his mind until he was able to convince himself to try this hot, new LARP.

Also, for those trying to understand him for some reason, don't take what he says at face value. He lies constantly. He's the type of compulsive liar to treat his lies as true and extrapolate future lies from that basis, making them sound more convincing. He also tries to convince himself of his own lies when convenient. I mean, this is pretty basic stuff, probably true of most people online, yet I continually see people blindly accepting his version of the story. Y'all aren't gonna learn much from that.
