U.S. Riots of May 2020 over George Floyd and others - ITT: a bunch of faggots butthurt about worthless internet stickers

I remember taking a macroeconomics class where they discussed how rivers, climate, the soil and animal wildlife affected civilization. How come Africa never reached the same stage of development as China and Europe was discussed from what I remember by some Chinese professor and basically hostile wildlife like lions and unable to domesticate elephants and giraffes fucks up trying to think of stuff and create farms is what I can remember lol.
Yes, it's part of a broader socio-historical theory. You can read a lot about it in Guns, Germs and Steel.
diamond is a hack and his book is essentially just 500 pages of thinly veiled dindu apologism for the sake of intellectual masturbation

Another shit situation that the media is going to cause more trouble than necessary
>More trouble than necessary
What do you think is the necessary amount of trouble for a racial lynching in a city with a track record of police abuse?

And now the looting has spread into St. Paul. Target and a pawn shop being burglarized right now by crowds.

Incredibly based.

There's absolutely zero evidence it has anything to do with race, and the people trying to make it about race should be tarred and feathered. This should be a conversation about policing methods, techniques, training, and the laws that the police are required to enforce. But every god damned time "white cop kills black man" happens it's about race and we get riots. When the cops do the same to anybody else it just gets a line or two in a local news company.

The more events that happen and come with a chimpout, the more people will become apathetic or just plain "yeah fuck that I don't care anymore, go fuck yourselves".

I'll believe "Black Lives Matter" when they're not busy being opportunistic hyenas. Blacks prey on blacks at the highest rate of any other group, to include cops of any color. Unless there is a recording of the cop going "I fucking hate niggers!" I have a hard time believing this is a racially motivated attack. And until you end up having to try and restrain someone while not hurting them or getting hurt yourself; most people don't realize exactly how shit cops have it when a suspect starts resisting. And if people want cops to get softer and softer, there's going to be a moment where the cops are so ineffective, there will be no reason to have them. Policing people requires some amount of force if the suspect isn't compliant, if you're not allowed to apply force, then you're a glorified hall monitor. And if that becomes reality, just dissolve the police; give them what they want and let them eat their own.

That was the joke. Someone already made the comparison to Tim McVeigh. If this is really about injustice then city hall would be on fire.
Shit. I guess that flew over my head. Before i went to bed this thread was 12 pages, now it's 60-something so I'm not really up to speed.

If it were all about race, Justine Damond wouldn't have been shot dead for ... well, for no fucking reason at all. This is about the militarization of the police and the staggering, lethal incompetence of many police departments.

You know this whole shit has taught me something, I always though blacks live in warmer weather, never though they would live in a frozen wasteland like Minnesota. Is it the cold weather maybe that is fucking them up?

Darker skin tends to coincide with the mutations for more body hair and the mtDNA one that directs a larger portion of excess calories into generating body heat.

This fucking Mayor. He say's this while at the same time calling in the National Guard. Gotta love those Democrat mayors.

George Floyd was arrested because he 'tried to pay store with a counterfeit $20 bill' as Minneapolis Mayor says he would still be alive if he were white after a night of violent protests which left a looter dead

More like if he were white we'd never have even heard this fucking story at all.

Edit: /pol/ memes from today on the riots.

And it will never ever ever be about that. The only ones talking about it are the libertarians, and we can see how much support they get in elections. The Democrats pay lip service to the idea but when push comes to shove nothing ever changes. There's still no knocks leading to people being shot and babies flashbanged, there's still dogs being put down. Politics in the age of Trump is all so tiring and it's increasingly harder to care about anything beyond my immediate area.

I try to take a very balanced view because I've seen it, I know it, but the trouble is that cops have to do a messy job with a lot of gray areas in it sometimes.

A lot of race-baiters and bleeding hearts don't want to acknowledge that sometimes the only thing that stops a violent criminal is force, and they see any degree of roughness as racist devilry. Add in the 'dindu nuffin' factor where nobody wants to hold people accountable for trying to fight cops (which cannot end well) and put all the blame on the cops when Jamal bruises his knuckles. Now of course this is amplified with hashtags and murder charges, which ruin lives and careers.

How do you think you'd respond if you knew that any task you did at work could be ruthlessly second-guessed after the fact by a group of antagonistic busybodies that would like nothing better than to put you in prison for profit (race-baiters) or political gain? I can't blame the police for becoming insular and covering for each other in that circumstance. Who else will?

This makes it harder to reform and remove bad cops, because there is no expectation for nuanced, proportionate response.

Regular people aren't uniformed LEOs, and aren't subject to the duties and powers attendant to that status. It isn't a fair comparison.

No matter how many boots you lick you'll never get to be the one "cool homosexual" that the local death squad is friends with.
