I think Preston being defeated so utterly was actually a tactical mistake on Ethan and Comicsgates behalf, I'll elaborate further below.
Since its inception Comicsgate has been operating in a somewhat militaristic fashion. It produces propaganda (meme's) to both denigrate it's enemies and uplift it's own heroes. Comicsgate's economy is a war time economy, most of the IGG campaigns are funded as spite campaigns, whether sticking it to the SJWs or Doug TenNapel and not so much on the merit of the works themselves. The flow of funds within CG rely constantly on an external enemy existing for the promotion of these campaigns, which could be considered war bonds, you invest money in scraps of paper (comicbooks) in the hopes that you score a victory in the culture war in your side's favor. CG has always had constant enemies, originally the SJW mainstream, then Vox Day and his minions, now it is "ex,anti,OG-CG" comprised of former members and exiles.
For over the past year Preston has replaced all other Comicsgate villains, real or imagined, as public enemy number one. He offered up easily digested videos, which were well sourced and increased his viewer base from disillusioned members. After being exposed as a former cuck porn actor and being humiliated so extensively he has pretty much been removed as a threat to Comicsgate and Ethan as a whole. Unfortunately this has now created a power vacuum, as Preston has basically been found an-heroed in his basement bunker surrounded by cuck porn with a metaphorical bullet to the head.
The problem with this is now Preston is defeated and a non issue, Comicsgate still needs an enemy to exist to justify it's own existence. Its no coincidence that only a few days after the defeat of Herr Poulter that old wounds began to reopen and the certain factions within CG attempted various power plays. Cecil and Malin have both had long running issues with Warcampaign and Warcampaign has also taken umbrage with comments by Cecil and Malin in regards to their campaign Vestige and upcoming magazine CGJumpstart. CGJumpstart was the next great battlefield weapon of which Warcampaign had invested much time, effort and resources into in order to consolidate power within the movement as a whole, thanks to Ethan now that project has just been torpedoed. Warcampaign effectively just lost their Bismarck and I imagine they are pissed.
Couple in the inter-personal rivalry's and grievances of smaller creators like Rob Cacy and Liam Gray and the whole battlefield feels like it has been soaked with gasoline and could go up with the slightest flame. Old grudges are resurfacing and many members and creators now must decide whether they side with the Loyalist Camp of Ethan & Co, or support the upstart faction of Warcampaign who has weaponized its members into the most extreme of paypigs and manufacturers of war-time propaganda.
Had Herr Commandant Poulter simply been allowed to remain as the head of state of the rival nation of Ex-gateristan, then this inevitable explosion of resentment could at the very least have been postponed through the unifying mutual hatred that all CG parties shared for him.
TLDR: Destroying Preston Poulter so utterly might have won CG a small victory but over the long term may have been a tactical error on their behalf.
As far as I know Ro Kabir actually bank rolled Vestige out of his own personal finances and paid Donal Delay up front for the project he also runs the campaign page. Gat Hanzo is the lead writer and Steve Dye is the editor, I'm unsure what roles Panboy, GRpeephole and ImNotTyler play in the project but I believe that they all input ideas. Praetorians role according to him was promotion and searching out printers and fulfillment options for the campaign and comparing rates.
Interesting points so far:
*First half an hour was Ethan tearing into Warcampaign, namely Ro and Panboy.
*Ethan mentions
@NasserRabadi13 has been posting on Kiwifarms, but neglects to inform his viewers why.
*Steve Dye (from Warcampaign) has reached out to Ethan saying he wants no part in the drama, CGJumpstart is Dye's brainchild so perhaps he see's the writing on the wall.
*Ethan wishes Gat Hanzo the best and wants him to disassociate from Pan and Ro.
*Graham Nolan, co-creator of Bane, is being courted to joining Comicsgate.
*Ethan again hints that another industry pro is considering leaving the mainstream and joining up with Comicsgate.
*Apparently Ethan has been talking to Hollywood insiders about Cyberfrog and the possibility of expanded media.
*Rob Cacy is a piece of shit, seems like he'll be joining Nasser here with us on the Farms.
*The Peasant narrative crafted by Warcampaign to create resentment among smaller CG creators is akin to a Marxist revolutionary tactic to take down the Comicsgate bourgeois.
