ValiDate - an upcoming (and unsurprisingly racist) visual novel made by SJW's, for SJW's. Currently MIA.

Also, in most VNs, the characters look at the player, regardless of their body pose.
Yeah but this is an INCLUSIVE game and most of these genetic nightmares have social anxiety issues as well as the 'tsim and a plethora of other very specific mental problems. What did you expect? Hetero-normative interactions like regarding the person in front of you?

Backstory (1 paragraph): He ain’t shit and he knows it. Will two kids he hardly wants to take care of if it wasn’t for the court order of shared custody, he would have fled town and moved to Alaska or something. He raps about the life of all his exes which are many, but the two exes [Insert names here] have been on his mind since he met them. He is like Drake but actually untalented.
Growing up in the middle of nowhere United States really pushed her to be great. She wanted to start a new life for herself and leave the old one behind, hence why she moved across the country and started a new life for herself. Her online fashion blogs landed her a job with GQ magazine, now living her best life and dating every model she meets. She loves the idea of being seen with the famous but not actually being one of them. The star of a night sky that shined just a bit dimmer than the brightest star.
Backstory (1 paragraph): When things have wheels, they have the potential to go fast. Like every relationship she has been in. From meeting to bedroom parties, to the fact that she already bought a wedding ring to reflect the personality of her partner. So far, she has about 7 or 8 rings. Maybe one day she’ll pawn them when her career is over because she made too many white people upset over their own behavior. She loves to deal with the problems of others but refuses to deal with her own. Letting them fester and rot right before her eyes before she is forced to clean them up with on his hands. Her actions of not taking care of her own mess hurts others, and before he realizes, it is too late.

I understand that the backstories are probably just set out rough, so they didn’t take a ton of time proofreading, but they’re still so poorly written that I can just imagine the game will be full of awkward grammar and poor spelling. And when 80% of your game is writing, that’s a major issue.

At the very least, you’d think with 6 writers, they could get the spelling and grammar on their promotional material correct. (On God? Your angle and yuor devil???)

ETA: bolded the worst examples. If I had someone writing for my site, I’d make them change all of that.

Monkeys and typewriters, man.

But in all seriousness, yeah, the game is looking pretty shite. Even I, a barely literate person in both English and my native language spotted those atrocities up there.

the background is literally just a vectorized photograph. someone was paid real money to take a series of photos they got off google and run them through the trace bitmap function in flash.
Yeah. If they’re going to use photos, rather than crappy vector they should have just taken a page from Katawa Shoujo and used the actual photos with a light watercolor or ink filter. It’s still slightly jarring if you’re really paying attention... but it looks good enough that you typically don’t.

I’ve said before that I think KS is one of the best visual novels. Certainly the best that doesn’t come from Japan. (To be fair, haven’t played DDLC because I hate horror.). Anyway, if they’re going to make a game about people with challenges and identity issues, you’d think they’d all play it and take notes about what it does well, and HOW it does it, because there’s good lessons. And good creators learn from people, as much as they can.

It's their attempt at appealing to memers and woke twitter, afaik.
"On God" is a term about something being absolutely true. Like "I swear to God" but retarded. Popular among woke and black circles on twitter.
"your angle or yuor devil" comes from a meme. An old meme nobody references anymore, at that.

Also, I've got to say, ValiDate is a fucking awful name.

Not because it's not simple or catchy, but it makes it impossible to search for this thing.

The only one that reliably gets Validate's Website to show up quickly is 'Validate Visual Novel'. 'Validate Game' starts off with steam and that, and only includes the twitter on the first page. Validate Game Devs is further off, as is 'Validate Kickstarter', 'Validate Twitter', Validate Steam', 'Validate VN', 'Validate Romance'...

nearly two dozen Tumblr people and not one knows Search Engine Optimisation.

Are there any people talking about this game at all outside the developers circlejerking themselves off? Also bitching about white people is going to do more harm than good. Insulting potential customers is a surefire way of killing interest in a product and getting people to hate you.

Not really, people don't care about games until they're done or at least are in a playable state. And this is a visual novel and those aren't very popular period.

Only 106 people voted and none of them would buy this lol.

Imagine running an already niche game with a small attention base and half of them won't even give you a cent.

Outside of Christine Love - whose last 2 games were a BDSM lesbian smut game and a game about hating white men ( back in 2012, before it was cool) - is there ANY non-Japanese Visual Novel that has actually made any reasonable money?

I don’t count Huniepop, because that was closer to hentai Puzzle Quest. Did that gay dads game make any $?

Basically, what I’m getting at is; Love only made decent $ on her smut game, and even that was her 4th, and 2 of them were free and not terrible. So diving into one with no word of mouth and no final product seems DOA.

Doki Doki Literature Club might have, though I'm not sure if it was free. Even so, the merchandising more than made up for it.

Wonder if they're suddenly rewriting the whole thing so you can meet these people at the riots (where they would totally be, based on the overly-woke devs).

As for VNs, I have no idea if any make money. I know Dream Daddy was shilled hard, but no idea if that led to profit.

Look at the positives; they're easier to get away from if they're too busy getting triggered by being exposed to fresh air.

I was originally going to comment that the vectorized bg's could work in a more stylized game instead of this back-alley dentist abortion, but you reminded me KS already did even half-assing the backgrounds better.

If this game even ever comes out it’s gonna sell like shit, and then they’re going to have to divide that shit between like twelve people to the point where they would have been far far better off working at a McJob during all that time. I’m just looking forward to when they all inevitably turn on each other when purity tests start to fail and they start arguing over who gets the bigger slices of the pie.

VA-11 Hall-A made a decent cut. The game was created by Venezuelans in between power outages and Internet blocks. Putting the mini games aside, the game is essentially a visual novel, and a helluva good one, too.
