Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

The way it is said is like "Cut the drama now, Ethan". He goes on and says that Adam Friended has cut EVS off his holywood contacts and the drama is scaring "important" people away.
Adam Friended is a complete nobody in Hollywood. His grift was to sell the idea he might know somebody. He doesn't, at least nobody who takes him seriously.

It's clear now he's attempting to rush to the finish line, which in my opinion will lead to mistakes being made and short cuts in quality. I still haven't read my backer preview of RR yet, but I know the SWC brothers tore it apart.
The preview was unimpressive but not terrible. Mitch's art is to his standard. The story seems like by the numbers deconstruction of golden age comics heroes. Not terribly original or interesting.

there's just something about the guy that rubs me the wrong way. He has the look of a pseudo-intellectual, college professors assistant who probably date rapes women at frat parties.
You hit that nail directly on the head.

Didn't Ethan say he thought Comicsgate was the right size a few weeks ago?
Yes. It's even more the right size now.

I think in the not to distant future (months, a year?) it may reach the perfect size and we won't hear much about it except in the way we hear about GamerGate now only more embarrassing.

A mangaka makes a manga about making manga. Making manga is boring as fuck.

And I'm not a feminist, but holee-shit. Tell us what you really think!
For the non-weebs here, Japanime comics read word baloons Right-to-Left

This manga had a whole arc after the girl became a professional voice actress where her career was in jeopardy because fans found out she had a fiance. They had to appease the fans with the fact she was still a pure untainted flower and they had agreed not to see eachother until they got married after she voiced an adaption of his manga, and she would retire (from her dream job) before getting married.

Contrast how another manga addresses this incel culture of weaboos ---

(one of my favorites, lol. If your taste is different your taste is trash)

What I really think was that I didn't care fuck all about the "love story" that's the main plot. I merely watched it when I was in art class with a few pals and we were told to observe the perspective shots the artist draws from the manga. TBH, I like the idea, I've always been a fan of shit like "dream within a dream" Inception-type films, so manga about mangaka making manga was neat, along with some inside references to people in the industry was a pleasant trivia. But yes, even I will not defend the cringe that is the female character of this story (it's why I don't recommend it to people who aren't even interested in drawing or learning a little bit of insight in making a manga/comic). TBH, I rarely give a rat's ass about romance plots in a fictional work. Most times, I just overlook it and enjoy it for it's other more interesting aspects. It's the other character's daily struggles to drawing their book outside the main characters that has me more interested.

Even after a tragedy he has to shill for his shitty ass book.

Monetizing pity bucks power levels has spiked. Even the dead aren't off limits. I think this says more about how low his morality is in regards to human mortality. Wouldn't surprise me due to his collection of guns and the tendency to show it off whenever he feels threatened, if TUG did murder someone and got away with it at some point. He just seems petty enough to shoot someone if they brought a rat to his house and it bit his mailbox.

Wait. Is Acevdo is going to die on the hill known as WARCAMPAIGN? As much time as I spend following this garbage I still can't keep everybody straight.
I think Acevedo has teamed up with Micah Curtis to do some upcoming Werewolf comic for CG, I can remember the art being shown on a Liamstream. A lot of the smaller creators owe everything they have to Warcampaign and Acevedo has always rubbed shoulders with them, I'm not suprised his towing the party line.
You know, it's funny. Didn't Ethan say he thought Comicsgate was the right size a few weeks ago?
I don't have the stream in question but he did. I think he's starting to realize that despite the fact his crowdfunders keep breaking records a lot of the smaller campaigns appear to be doing worse now than compared to the smaller campaigns of 2018 (eg: Nasser, Ben Henessey, Antonio Brice & Malpica). Ethan and Warcampaign are in a war for the hearts and minds of the smaller creators to further valid their respective side, so I think Ethan finally realizes that he needs to grow CG's audience not really for his own sake but for the sake of others who have pledged loyalty to him.

There has been no shortage of comments in this thread and elsewhere reporting that it appears there are more CG creators than ever right now, but the audience itself appears to be shrinking.
Isn't CG Yakuza one of Ethan's socks?
Strictly jake is.
Strictly Jake has Ethan's mannerisms clearly displayed in Youtube comments but during the Vikki stream with Frog he was in the comments section of that video, so I think he's been debunked as a sock.

As for CG Yakuza I've seen people post on twitter that the mask slipped when CGY talked about Ethan's campaigns as if he was Ethan himself, which a lot of people took as evidence it was Ethan's sock account. CGY remains plausible.

2018 CG was Zack vs Waid. 2020 CG was WC versus PP. No wonder the audience is shrinking.

What is funny is that WC call Malin Marvel 2.0, but they advocate for selling to CG books by "protected" creators that no-one wants - which is the exact reason why CG started in the first place

Tweets been up ten minutes and the only replies are somebody asking about how ready Panboy's backhole is for prison and one hanger on. A week ago there'd already be twenty or thirty, wouldn't there?

Put your career in that guy's hands.

Liam stream starting, subject unknown.

Malin and Po already going at it in the chat.
Ro also in chat demanding to be let on with his proof copy of Jumpstart.
WC completely shunned, Ro back to Tweeting to nobody.

Liam's analysis of The Avengers and power gaps between superheros is so mindnumbingly stupid that I want to read his comic just to see how stupid it will be...

Liam's a party pooper. Nothing happened except him acting like he doesn't want to platform drama. His assertion is that his channel blew up because he's a genuine person trying to have a discussion, and not because of the Shonen Battle manga-style show he had going on. I disagree, because Liam's a genuinely boring human being, he would have never blown up with his personality. It's definitely the blood sports.

My guess is that he's being told to keep his mouth shut or he's being paranoid as shit, whereas usually, he'd leap at the chance to platform this because he's a "tabloid, gossip, yet journalistic channel", but he tried to take his channel into a "comic book discussion show" direction today, which doesn't work because no one associates him with that.

He does confirm that he knows everything, and was teasing his audience with it because he can't control himself. I know you want to speak drama Liam, that's why you got so assmad at some point in the stream ragging on about comic book movies. Let the #BLACKDRAGON fly already, faggot.

I believe that @FROG baited him with friendship and he is still loyal to WC, so he is playing coy.
OR he knows there is big drama coming and baits the audience with a nothingburger stream so the big surprise won't come out before it should. Doing that would make him enemy number one and will deprive him of tomorrow's superdrama stream.

This is interesting. 3D Robin seems to be friendly with Ro despite the war. 3D has done a tun of work for Ethan. Isn't he the one who 3D modeled Salamandroid and Cyberfrog for the toys Ethan added to his Campaign? Also he's done a bunch of animations and created that game demo for Ethan.

I wonder if Ethan has paid 3D Robin for any of that stuff because I got the impression he was doing it all for free, at least at first.

I get that he did paid work for WarCampaign. But I'm wondering how much of the work he did for Ethan was paid and whether he's taking a side in all this.

Narwhal and Adam Post seem to be distancing themselves from WC and supporting Ethan. It's interesting to see 3D Robin taking a different route. I wonder if he's still good with Ethan.
