There was some footage on the news on the Los Angeles riots where a restaurant owner was showed looking at his destroyed restaurant that had been broken into and damaged. It was a place where he was feeding out of work restaurant workers who needed help during the pandemic. I didn’t think it would get as out of hand here (Chicago) as it did because all the BLM or Trump protests in the past were shut down pretty quick when they went rogue. This time they let it go pretty far and even had to enact a curfew. I’m honestly scared. I feel safe at home but my husband has to travel about 12 miles across the city for work, and he works late. Seeing all these videos of people being ganged up on, I’m really afraid something terrible is going to happen. I just really wish we could pack up and leave right away.
