The thing is, though, Netflix almost always uses LA talent.
Crunchyroll did use Funimation when they had the FuniRoll partnership, but since it's been mostly LA. Just off the top of my head, Shield Hero, In/Spectre, Somali And The Forest Spirit, Tower Of God, and My Next Life As A Villainess use LA talent.
I dunno. The theory still seems like a stretch. Interesting if true, but I won't be holding my breath.
I don't know any way it could be proven without inside information or future leaks. I'm only pointing to something suspicious that might fit the pattern (and also complaining about that FMA dub because wtf was wrong with that dub) and along the way just happened to note that Crunchyroll has way more power than you'd think right now and that Ruff and Morris appear to coincidentally also fall on the ISWV vs KV spectrum in ways that would match Sabat having his fingers in the pie somehow.
If nothing else and this really isn't connected, it's actually worse because it means the cancerous hiring practices and backstabbing involved in Funimation dealings has started to spread over to LA.
Also quick note: any post-March 2020 dub is probably coming from LA not because of a bad relationship with Funi but because they shut down their dubs for like a month and even still are having trouble getting them back up last I saw. Despite not commenting on the controversy at all, Crunchyroll immediately fired Vic from his role in Bungo Stray Dogs last year because they used all Funi VAs in that, if I recall correctly. At least as of 2019 they were still being incestuous about their dubbing.
