The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

this was posted before a few threads ago but this one seems more full and having more content

At about 2:14, it says that "The Epilogue sets up sequel bait. In Part III, Elly is the main antagonist (You play as Abby).

Was that a typo and they meant Part II, or did it leak that there's a third game in the works with this set-up?

That 30-sec TV spot is unironically the best thing I've seen of the game so far and it's not even the actual game.
Because it feels like an ACTUAL survival horror for once. Look at how terrified and helpless Ellie looks. Look at the visible tears in her eyes. That's how she was supposed to be, not a psycho pissed off badass Druckmann wants her to be.

Also notice how they made her look less buff and more feminine and gave her actual defined breasts lmao

Druckmann definitely wasn't involved in making this
Honestly, at this point, it's just depressing looking back on this. All the hype, all the time put into development. The man hours, the effort, the detail, all for a game that died before it was even released.

"Lame female characters" i wonder if druckmann ever heard of samus aran.

Or Jill Valentine, Rebecca Chambers, Claire Redfield, Alexandra Rovias, Regina from Dino Crisis, horror games tend to have good female main characters

Maybe Druckmann just hates female characters in general.
Unless they're teenage lesbians for him to abuse.

I'd be somewhat curious to see him talk about what female characters he knows of, and describe why he thinks they're lame. I suspect the result would be very few female video game characters that he knows of, and his reasons they're lame would principally be things like "they wear sexy clothing" or "they like men".

I wonder what's druckmann's beef with these supposed lame characters? They at least have a legacy behind them. As much as I ellie, i remember druckmann shilling ellie really hard with the first game despite fans liking joel more.
Also people like druckmann complaining about female characters "sexualized" forgets that they look like that because they're trained fighters and i get this feeling they don't know what an athletic woman looks like

At this point, the only thing that can possibly save this game is if by some miracle, the final boss gives the player the choice to side with either Ellie or Abby. Sure you can choose Abby if you're a moron, but playing as Ellie would be a way of giving you the chance to say "fuck this shit" and beat the crap out of the sjw propaganda character.

Reminder that even OG sex symbol Lara Croft was considered a feminist gaming icon.

TBH I miss that kind of feminism where being strong and sexy was empowering.

Even last century, though, being a stronk wahmen but nice looking was considered not real feminism in some quarters. You see, those characters weren't really women, goes the argument. They were basically one of the boys who just happened to have awesome bewbs. Also, looking nice is objectifying oneself and therefore bending the knee to The Patriarchy.

(Xena gets a pass though because LGBT is higher up the progressive stack and thus excuses a larger volumes of sins against wokeness.)

Most of those characters that went along with that way of thinking like we have seen recently haven't been iconic at all tho.

I mean people still do art of 2B from Nier Automata because of her design being so good. And fuck tbh I can't even name any of the "Non-sexualized" characters because they are so remarkable or their games are forgotten by now.

Hell, if you want strong female characters look at any of the women in the 2D Squaresoft games. FF6 alone has a dozen flavors of fucked up terrible scenarios including the apocalypse and every variant on emotional attachment gone wrong, as well as several situations where you can massively fuck up and have people die if you don't think about what you're doing or act quickly enough. The moral remains that there's always someone or something worth fighting for even after the world collapses and everything is in shambles.

That probably doesn't count but what about Viconia from Baldur's Gate? That was one hell of a powerful woman.

But is problematic because in both games you have to rescue her - in the first from being chased by a guardsman with questionable motives, and in the second from being burnt at the stake as a witch.

(Of course, give her Crom Faeyr and the heaviest armour you can find and she's almost as OP as 3rd Edition clerics by the endgame, what with being able to buff compatriots, hose down bad guys with Flame Strike and Firestorm and Bolt of Glory, control undead with an always-on turning ability, and with those items in particular mix it up fairly well in melee also.)

Also, do you reckon Druckmann ever actually played Baldur's Gate? Come on. Use your loaf.

Sorry if this is late, but at least its fucking funny.

-This is how the the original song sounds like.

- Lotte's cover. Now if you compare it to TLOU commercial it's obvious they copied her arrangement

Not only that, if you search "Lotte Kestner True Faith" on youtube you'll see a bunch of TLOU videos claiming it's from the official OST when the artist wasn't involved.
Regardless if this was a cover and she doesn't own the rights to the song it's still a shitty thing to do imo

What does a twangy acoustic cover of a new wave song about heroin addiction have to do with mushroom zombies. It's like they saw Ellie playing the guitar and just grabbed the first sad sounding acoustic guitar number they dug up online and podged it in there.

You mean what do the mushroom zombies have to do with Neil Druckmann's deep philosophical game about lesbians and how boomers ruined the world
