They think he was pulled over because he's black, not because of the light. Increased police scrutiny is one of the few things they may actually have a point on. Then again, that same scrutiny is well deserved, y'know, because they have a much higher rate of being criminals.

I've got acquaintances who had to get recompensed for damages caused by riots and other civil unrest. From what they say, insurance companies will try to either leave you waiting so long you give up, or flat-out avoid paying, and FEMA's money either takes forever to come through, or it's nowhere near enough to cover the losses.

(This may be old information, though. They had their businesses ransacked over 10 years ago.)

The magic thing is silly to us right now, but I've seen enough funky shit in weird places I'm of the belief that if enough people believe something works, some secret sauce or alt rules of physics can be invoked, and I'm not going to arrogantly act like mankind has a complete and all-encompassing understanding of reality in 2020. I could see a few ways that would make me say "ah, that's weird. I can see that though."
